But this is sound taken from 25 fps footage being hacked into a 23.976 fps video. For it to even mux properly, I would think it needs to be slowed down to match.

For scene by scene if it's the same as the DE footage I could slow down the audio to compensate for the 23.976/25 conversion, if anyone wants to use the audio for an NTSC DVD.

It's AVI. If you're lucky it might play on a DivX player (though, LAVC isn't 100% compatible with DivX). With FFDSHOW or MPlayer it should play perfectly.

Converting AC3 5.1 to PCM 2.0 is easy with mplayer-mingw32:

mplayer -ao pcm -vc dummy -vo null filename.avi

presto, 2.0 PCM WAV in audiodump.wav

I wonder if someone could mix a "no-music" audio track that I could play around with for editing. It might be interesting to hack together a new end for ROTJ that doesn't have that yub-yub thing at the end, but that doesn't go so overboard like the SE ending.

I've done Han shooting first from DVD source, like I've said in other posts. If *I* can do it, I'm sure it's not difficult (and the only usable video editing tool I have is Virtual Dub).

Some things do indeed need to be restored from the laser. I don't think that's one of them.
