And if I can get anywhere toward an "XP80" ESB and "XP83" ROTJ, to go with the XP77 project I'm working on now, they would prolly need the Star Wars logo on the sequels to look right. The XP77 is a Pre-ANH.

I made this but am not sure whether to release it in its current state or not (I want to get a better video source and a couple other audio sources).

It’s the video from the Mysterious Mysteries edit (with only the Pre-ANH crawl), and the 1.0 mix fleshed out to completeness.

According to this site the 1984 Hi-Fi VHS and the 1989 laser have different mixes (the former has the 1977 2.0 mix, the latter the 1985 "digitally remastered" 2.0 mix). It is the 1977 2.0 mix that I am actually looking for.

Once slowed down and padded at the beginning, it remained synched until 1 hour in.

Compensating for the PAL speedup is easy enough, I did it with the Reivax ANH (it's on my hard drive as a bilingual OGM).

As for the 2.0 mix, for which the best source I am aware of is the 1984 Hi-Fi VHS - I'd be interested to know what that "better source" is. XD

A friend and I are considering making a Pre-ANH version with, if we can find them, the UK 1985 TV audio in 2.0 mono (reflecting the 1.0 mix), the 1984 Hi-Fi VHS audio in 2.0 stereo (reflecting the 2.0 mix) and the 1993 DE LD audio upsampled to 5.1 surround with ProLogic emulation (reflecting, some surmise, the 6.0 mix). The rollup would have come from the Mysterious Mysteries version. Video, prolly from his currently shrinkwrapped (!) Faces laser.

Does anyone have or could they create an mp3 or such of the 1.0 mono mix from the pre-anh boots, or from teh pre-remix British telecast?

I would like to do some experimentation with reconstruction of the original 1977 version, now that I have all the video I need.

Here’s what I’d put on my own “ultimate classic edition” of the OOT:

Possibly this might not even all fit on a DVD-9.

3 video tracks (angles) for Star Wars, and 2 for ESB and ROTJ.
This would comprise original or alternate crawl for Star Wars, plus standard or restored version on all (restored Star Wars would have the original crawl). The restored version would have cleaned up effects shots and mattes, but no major changes.
Softsub stream like ADigitalMan’s: caption or text. (Caption only for ESB.)
Original audio track if available (for Star Wars, at least the mono mix; if possible also the stereo and 6.0 mixes), plus 1985 and 1993 remixes.
Anamorphic format, 704x360 letterboxed to 720x480.

Damn, I'm having to be REAL heavy on the torrents this week, just leeched the ADM ROTJ, and seeded a Sailor Moon musical (got off that a few hours ago), and now here's the Pre-ANH ANH... My bandwidth is going to be BUSY!

For this reason, I am going to really take a major hit in my ratio... I am uploading at only 50% of my power (as opposed to my usual 75-80%) so I can still run my servers, which were off while I was on the last two torrents.
