My idea was to take the TR47 2.0 PCM track, if it could be equated to the 4.2, and make a 4.1-channel AC3 stream to put with the 1.0 and 2.0 mixes. mencoder has something like a ProLogic emulator and can encode 4.1 AC3s (I've done it).
Moll.
(Edit) should've clarified I specifically meant ANH
Yeah, I lined it up with the Dr. Gonzo version (had an AVI of it sitting around).
As soon as I have the source material, I'm going to put it together, seeing if I can't get those damn hardsubs to come with me (rerip?), and reauthor - might have to futz a bit with the menus, since I don't know what I'm doing there... (DVD Styler, prolly what I'm going to use.)

I'm positive there was a scene when Vader told two TIE Fighter Pilots "A gorup of fighters have broken off from the main group - come with me". Am I imagining this scene?
"Close the blast doors" was in the 1.0 mix only. The scene you mention, I'm quite sure I saw it there too (or, at least in the XP77:4EB, which is based on the Mysterious Mysteries version but with the 1.0 mix).
To date I haven't figured out DVD Styler either... >.>;
Simple stuff is easy enough in DVD Lab but I don't know about audio menus and such, not to mention it really hogs the computer while compiling, unlike DVD Author. <.<;

I've mentioned it in its own thread, and on the Torrents thread, but it possibly bears mentioning here too - the first version (1.0 only) of my XP77 (Experience '77) edit is up.
The nature of this edit - and I'll do a little more work with it for the next (XP77:5EB.0) version - is that it builds on a previous edit, the Mysterious Mysteries edit, by using a patched version of an audio track reflecting the 1977 1.0 mono mix.
The final version will have the subtitles remuxed in (they are missing from the 4EB.1 version) and also contain the 1977 2.0 stereo mix.
I do not have any better video sources at this time but would like to redo it as an Anamorphic version, with better picture quality.
I'm going to reauthor the disc (but still with tmpg - just patched up the menu a little bit), and release it to torrent in the next few hours, I think.
That's what I'm hoping for with the final XP77 too.
BTW, anyone know of a DVD authoring program that's not a bitch to use, makes good menus, and doesn't strip off my subtitles? I could really use such a program for XP77 and other projects.
