I would personally prefer the old Boba Fett voice, mainly for two reasons:

1. the line delivary was better

2. the voice was more intimidating, fitting a feared bounty hunter

It's really easy to explain too: a voice modulator built into the helmet to make himself more frightening, to build on his reputation and such.

Remember when Leia was disguised as a bounty hunter in Return of the Jedi? To say that her voice then was very different from her own nautural voice is an understatement.

This.

I'd go with the Wingreen voice.

Info Wanted: 5.1 mono-style mix?
Time

I’ve seen Adywan’s edit and how he pulled off the sound mix, which has a lot of mono mix elements.

I can’t really pull this off adequately even in 2.0 (I tried a year or so ago) but I’d really like to see if it could be done: a true 5.1 mix, that has all the mono mix elements, and as far as possible, sounds like…well…the mono mix, but in 5.1. (Bonus points if synched to the GOUT 😛)

Idea: Rocky IV - Bill Conti version?
Time

Dunno if it’s possible. I saw clips that a few people put up on YT that used various snips of Rocky 1-3 OST material, plus the opening of Rocky 5 is basically the Rocky 4 fight set to a shortened version of “Conquest” (Rocky 2 and 3 battle music).

This is my idea:

1. Replace the opening titles with ones more like Rocky 5’s, or possibly a 3/5 hybrid form (the Rocky 5 variant is transparent instead of yellow)

2. Replace the Apollo/Rocky sparring from Rocky 3 with the Rocky 3 version (different music), redraw the credits

3. Replace all the Vince DiCola BGM with Bill Conti BGM; replace “Hearts On Fire” with some other song (since Vince DiCola cowrote it), possibly Gonna Fly Now

4. Might need to redo the ending credits

This is a little ambitious, though not Adywan ambitious. Dunno how feasible it is either, I’ll have to look into it further. My source has 5.1 audio, it might be able to be hacked.

Gonna add to my comment: I don't like to use denoise filters because I worry that they'll wreck the image quality worse than simply leaving the noise intact. I use Avidemux 2.3 to encode my vobs, mainly because it's all-in-one, and produces reasonably good vobs with reasonable speed. (It's faster than tmpgenc, from what I can tell, and the output's comparable, especially using the tmpgenc quant matrix on the vob encoder.)

My filter profile is simple: decomb telecide, decomb decimate, crop, mplayer resize. I know the video is noisy - low-end LD player (although it is a Pioneer), bottom-of-the-line DVD recorder (works fine for me though), although at least I'm using a good video cable :P

I figure I can always leave the final project to someone else, though I don't know if drfsupercenter will be able to pull it off since he barely knows what he's doing (worse than me).

So yeah, the big four. These are, of course, the most important movies to get out.

The Little Mermaid - drf has the LI DVD and the SE. Prolly we're just going to anamorphicize it and spruce it up a little.

Beauty and the Beast - I have the CAV LD, drf has the SE DVD. We're going to anamorphicize it, prolly synch up the DVD's 5.1 mix.

Aladdin - I have the CAV LD and a 320 kbps MP3 CD rip of Arabian Nights with the offending line. Again, we'll anamorphicize it and I think drf's figured out how to hack together a 5.1 with the offending line and the "take off and go" restored. Or it's possible he'll comb the DVD and eventually produce a LD/DVD hybrid. (I know the credits aren't intact on the DVD; I don't know what else was changed video-wise, if anything.)

The Lion King. The best I've been able to produce is a slightly noisy rip of a pristine CLV LD. This disc is 1.85:1, and has no bonus features, no special audio tracks or whatall (unless they're embedded in the ac3 stream, something my player doesn't understand) as it's the CLV version. (I am going to buy the CAV eventually, and if I do, I will update the project to use it.) Supposedly the DVD has the LD's commentary, but I'd have to see it to believe it.

The other big projects are "Make Mine Music", "Melody Time" and "Saludos Amigos", which are censored on the R1 releases. I'm also going to do "Cinderella" myself. (But my DVDs have horrible menus.)
