MP3? Wynaut FLAC? ~.^
MP3? Wynaut FLAC? ~.^
A friend of mine has a couple BBC1 HD TSes of Roger Rabbit... unfortunately, they're censored too. We checked against the DVD5-sized French MKV.
I've had some issues playing M2TS on MPlayer2, but usually they are resolved - including the visibility of subs - by converting losslessly to mkv using mkvmerge.
WOWOW doesn't seem to replay stuff much. We just capped the Holic movie, which hasn't been aired on WOWOW in 6-7 years, from WOWOW Prime - and the only reason they even aired it was as a tie-in for a new TV series.
ADV released the original cut as the "Legacy Collection".
They prolly had something comparable to Beta. VHS is not used for broadcast masters - not at consumer speeds, anyway.
It's prolly not hard to find. xD Almost every episode since 658 has been subbed by my group and we've been working on redoing some older episodes. (We got a bit of a queue right now, a bunch of episodes in various stages of completion. Plus there's a pair of episodes that knocked out 4 of our translators as well as another group, so...)
I've been busy working on other projects, but yeah. :/ Lately most of my focus has been taken by subtitling Detective Conan. The rest this week has been with me and Gonbe collecting material for Toei's "Arajin to mahou no lamp", since we have 10 audio tracks including Japanese for that, and apparently there's a live-action version of Holic coming out that a friend wants to see.
I'll try to get back to this when I can, because *I* want to see this too. ~.^

To be fair to FUNimation I would only imagine that's what they received. Toei's not known for high-quality preservation efforts; the master tapes for all of DragonBall were thrown out, and the difference between the original broadcast audio and the home video releases is staggering. Not to mention the uncut version of the Fist of the North Star movie is completely lost!
No excuse for the SE Bond DVDs though.
The R2 Dragon Box has 448 kbps dual mono. Still sounds like garbage though (especially compared to videotapes from 1989).
ETA, compare the UUE raw audio with the Orange Brick. There's something else going on than "this is what Toei gave us".
Nice. From what I've seen, you need it.
I've seen worse. The mono tracks on some Funimation DVDs are only 96 kbps.
I've got an ancient xvid here I can try synching it to until I can find better. Ancient as I've prolly had it for close to a decade.
The R2J has the old dub, yes. It's not actually Streamline (Macek says he had nothing to do with it, and it's what drove him to dub Totoro and Kiki), but it was done in LA just like Streamline's dubs with a similar talent pool.
Prolly just that it doesn't support that feature which was only added in mkvmerge 4.1.
It's the codec I use for just about everything anymore.
No prob.
I originally planned to make a 3-disc set including a cleaned-up encode of the regular laserdisc, an encode of the WIP, the "Sing-Along Songs" from VHS (with improved audio) and a combination of bonus features from the DVDs and the laserdiscs, but never finished that.
I had already prepared it for release. Took a couple tries to get the .torrent to take on TPB though.
I Bayed it, dunno if it'll show up, or anywhere else to link the torrent since I can't link it here. But I've got the BatB workprint work in progress version ready to go as soon as it shows up on TPB.
I could ask a friend if he has the "Holy Jeez" edit of 1?
Being struck 10 years after the scene was censored...prolly not.
I think I found one of my caps of the Academy Lady. I'd like to try to clean it up a little before I do anything with it.
Actually, what it is is a Side A from one cap, and a Side B from another. I ripped it 5 times because I wanted to hand it off to someone else to clean up but he refused to touch anything that has been encoded in MPEG-2.
LOL, my "transferring method" is a DVD recorder... I just filter the output a bit and reauthor.
No. What I have is its CLV counterpart.

This one. I also have this one: http://www.disneyinfo.nl/laserdiscdetail.php?film=208
The WD Classics logo I used was from a 1988 LD of Cinderella. (It's the variant called "Metal Diamond" and is also on the 1988 VHS.)
If it matters I have both the 1988 and 1995 LDs for Cinderella, but they are both CLV.
This cap is from the 1995 LD, but for a little spice I used the 1988 version's unique video release bumper.
Deluge is hashing the iso for Cinderella, it will be back seeding in a couple minutes.
