I just had to put my eyes back in their sockets.

All signs seem to indicate that Star Wars was always known in Japan by its English title, transcribed into Japanese script: スター・ウォーズ (sutā∙wōzu) (and, say, “Death Star” was also left in English).
In Chinese, on the other hand, it got a fairly close translation, 星球大战/星際大戰. (And apparently “Skywalker” was translated - as 天行者 (which could mean skywalker, I think)).
I can’t think of anything the Snow White LDs could be than the 1994 restoration.
Ah, I recognize that format - it’s OGM chapter format (which is what I use for chapters when fansubbing).
Doesn’t supporting BD menus require having a Java runtime built into the player?
I’m not using BD-J.
Ah, I was under the impression that ANY sort of interactivity on a BD (even such as to have nothing more than a “Play All” button on a single-frame menu) required BD-J.

Man, I prefer bbcode to markdown. 😕
Spielberg seems saner than Lucas. Heck, didn’t he walk back all the lucasization he did to ET?
Same. But also all the 97SEs.
I prefer my videos looking clean, but not digital clean. So I guess I lean more in the mverta direction.
I know I’ve gotten a little flak around here for saying I like to scrub some (but not all) of the grain from a video. Scrub it so the grain isn’t all in your face, but leave a bit so it doesn’t look like it was shot on a computer. And I’m not a fan of dirt and scratches either - same reason I tend to prefer tapes to records, because tapes didn’t degrade in that way, like records do.
I think there’s a happy medium.
To be blunt, it did seem like TN1 got a free pass for breaking the “one user per account, one account per user” rule that existed even at the time because of their contributions, even though they were told openly that such a thing existed.
At this point in time, I’m going to agree with Williarob on these things. Lock all (T)-1’s threads, and it’s probably a good idea to procure, if possible, a separate scan of the IB Tech print in question. Then pick up the pieces from there.
Even I tend to keep offsite backups. Sometimes in multiple sites.
There was talk. But with the TN1 implosion, that may have gone down the drain.
Wasn’t it said that they also decided to axe the IB Tech release because it might interfere with mverta’s negotiations with Fox and the Rat?
They serve different purposes, different goals. There’s room for both approaches.
I hope someone will be able to pick up the torch, and do (as they said they intended) with the 97s as was done with the OTVs - I think there’s opportunity with HD scans of the 97s alongside the OTVs and the 2004 HDTV rips, with the BDs.
“one account per user, one user per account”, right? I know TN1 was called out on it but for some reason it was allowed to slide.
Prior to TN1, the rule was no team accounts, iirc.
Sounds like a sort of unofficial 2.6 😉
Personally:
I prefer to share everything I feasibly can. But if asked not to, I keep it private out of respect.
Transparency truly is the enemy of corruption… 😛
I think we all have different goals in mind when it comes to “restoring” Star Wars.
Knock wood.
I was referring to the first segment of Make Mine Music, Goofy’s cigarette in Saludos Amigos, the minister’s knee in The Little Mermaid, and the “SFX” dust cloud in The Lion King among other alterations they’ve done to their own films over the years.
