Why isn’t this series called 16-bit Cinema? Accuracy and alliteration bonus.

Amazon doesn’t vet it’s third party sellers much, if at all. I bought a DVD off of Amazon, and the seller sent me the wrong movie. It was an obvious Asian bootleg. I eventually got what I ordered, and that was legit though.
Sure but having bought stuff from certain sellers for years you get to know the names of legit used movie store fronts on there. For what probably equates to about 10 USD you can get this set from a seller that I know is reputable. Looks like people in Europe aren’t aware it’s worth anything.
I think sending them a small novel listing all the compositing differences may not be the way to go.
If those are bootleg discs, they look awfully good. (I got burned on a factory sealed bootleg Beatles CD box set several years ago, and the sub par disc labeling was one of the giveaways.) Are we certain there was no other retailer exclusive packaging like Walmart had with the comic books included?
I quick look on Amazon reveals a 6-disc set with that very outer box.
The gold colour and the artwork is right BUT this is always 2 disc per movie deal. The second “bonus” feature disc is the GOUT.
Edit: Wait you get a pic of the damn thing on the first link - look at the back of the sleeve, it says Disc 2 features bonus theatrical etc etc. It’s all totally fine, box or not that’s the info you are looking for.
I do think “saved in the editing room” is a bit of a misnomer for Star Wars. That would imply the film was a massive turd to begin with.
Well they didn’t say turd, they said unmitigated disaster
I haven’t posted on this forum in days.
LOL this guy
Are the people here of the opinion that George was never talented, or do you guys think it’s more of a Francis Ford Coppola situation where he just lost his touch?
The second. Star Wars is a fine film. It is often said that it was saved in editing, and that the first cut was terrible, but I simply can’t picture the editors turning a really bad film into the one we know today. If anything, post-production enhanced material that was already in place.
You should take a look at what was chopped out of the original. There aren’t many deleted scenes to view right now, but just reading about what was cut… I’d say the film was saved by Marcia Lucas during editing.
Agreed. Any time you see the original film scenes that are outtakes or just longer than what is in the movie… people start saying George Lucas dialogue. It’s cut for a good reason, they knew what was up.
Yes echoing what has been said, history is what it is. It got a bunch of awards, it got a bunch of terrible alterations. These things are part of how it all went down. I just want them to stop pretending the Blu Rays are the version that always existed. Just stop messing with people, some of us still remember when we were at war with Eurasia.

It looks like they’re having imagination for dinner to me…
Yes. Perhaps this scene is a miniature homage to Hook.
Perhaps they were going to put in CGI food and just forgot about it…
I don’t think that’s the problem here
Still 20 years ago.
Still sucks
We don’t bemoan the Special Edition’s existence. It simply isn’t the version of the trilogy we fell in love with.
Emotional appeal is never wise, it comes off in a negative manner. I would highly recommend not using this sentence.
History is the important thing. LFL themselves are waving the whole anniversary banner. Awards don’t mean anything, but they are a cultural thing, and so are a part of the history. Would George have been able to spend so much money on this crap without all those statues? Who can say. But coming off like a small group of middle aged nostalgia fans is the wrong approach.
GOTG 2 is such a funny movie, helped by the fact that it has arguably the best villain in an MCU movie to date.
Agreed on both. It has heart which goes along way. Plus one writer, and scenes that have setup and payoffs. It’s sort of messy and bloated at times though, I guess because they were afforded this after the risk factor was removed.
Oh my god someone actually did it

The one from 1997 is still there, which doesn’t count for much. The one where we used to go as kids the very start of the 90s was sold to the city university so it sort physically of exists I guess.
It might be worth updating your front page to show that the letter isn’t from a “dead” site. The old news from 2006 is also pretty disheartening at this stage.
Sorry I was alive back then.
Apology accepted.
Maybe. Have they ever replied to past attempts?
I mean feedback from you guys. No idea if anyone has tried this via twitter before or got a response.
Oh yeah. I just mean do they ever give any kind of a sign they read these things.
Removing the “alternative methods” is a good change. I would include something that mentions cultural importance and cinema history, to make it clear that not only audiences (old and new) should be able to see this - but those involved in the 70s deserve to have their work preserved.
Maybe. Have they ever replied to past attempts?
This in-universe cooking show should give you an idea of the food diversity in the Star Wars galaxy.
I knew it was this and I clicked anyway, aw jeez.
It’s time to take the stance of HelloGreedo and stop getting all worked up until they actually provide real news. This rumour mill has been turning for a laughably long time at this point.
Meanwhile eBay bootleggers have updated their page to say it’s had such a high demand that the discs are top item on the site and will now take longer to delivery. Sigh.
I’m pretty sure Leia just hands Wicket a rice cake.
Hah yeah I always think that.
All the stuff looks like terrible dry health foods. The ESB lunchbox is like a bunch of Ryvitas.
