R2: A Star Wars Story
R2: A Star Wars Story
R2D2 was visited by the spectre of an old R5 unit he abused in his youth
Obviously Luke could get back to Yavin without Artoo’s help.
I guess it flies on manual too. Right into a swamp.
The too much too fast ego theory fits with all three instances of people being fired though. It’s speculation, but it’s easy to imagine. These “insiders” need to be more wild and imaginative.
Can one fly an X Wing without a droid in the socket? There’s a dead R2 or BB unit lying around there somewhere!
I guess? … R2 was “dead” at the end of Star Wars for a few minutes.

According to theForce.net, the true fans will accept only the official Lucas-versions as the real films and the rest are babies. Also the Prequels are better because Lucas liked them more.
Ew.
Well it’s hard surprising, but I was more concerned with the script than the direction.
so much rogue one memes are gonna be epic
wat
Anthony Daniels doesn’t care about plot holes, he just needs his fee
The amazing Chinese Star Wars bootleg comic
It’s always been labelled as a Solar Array. I don’t particularly mind, since real technology has no place here. But the lack of consistency in design and progression of the fighter types is just weird.
Exterior: daytime
Space port
After a job well done, HAN and CHEWBACCA step off their new ship. The camera pans across to show FAN SERVICE “94” in relief on a nearby wall. They stroll through the crowds, brushing shoulders with LONG SNOOT who mutters at them in an alien dialect.
HAN: Well old pal, time for a relaxing drink before we earn a few more credits. With no strange characters, badly planned escapades or double crosses!
They walk into SEEDY CANTINA as a pair of droids are seen leaving just off camera.
PROTOCOL DROID: How rude! At least things can’t get any worse…
(canned laughter and possible wacky freeze frame)
IRIS WIPE to CREDITS
Kathy can send me my check later.
Threepio and R2 can be shoe horned into an embarrassing cameo if they choose to show right up to the moment Han and Chewie enter Mos Eisley, just before they meet Obiwan.
Ugh. I mean sure I get it. But it only serves to highlight the general design problems with the First Order. Why are they even using basic TIE Fighters at all? Plus if white solar panels (wat) were specifically chosen how come they’re missing on this model?
The protagonist would have to be someone in his circle trying to gain favour or obtain wealth, or just escape. Something like that. Then you can have lots of underworld betrayals and clashes like a real gangster movie. We can revive Nar Shardaa, and throw in Bossk and 4-LOM for good measure. Problem is Jabba is presented as a 100% evil mollusc who lives like a medieval lord throwing people to their deaths and stuff, not a calculating mastermind.

Disney can put out a “Complete Skywalker Family Saga” set in 2020. I just hope they also do a OOT set for those who bought the ST on release and hate the Prequels.
This sounds reasonable.
Too reasonable…
That sounds way too interesting for it to be done right.
Looks like one BFG under the hull.
Is that what they’re calling it these days
The rest of the deleted scenes like stuff from the Celebration this year? Probably without the ones from the last set though.

Is this real?
No, but it’s my favourite in the trilogy. There are far too many movies up there to put anything in this series in the top 10 or 20 of all time though.
Uh. So anyway…
I should point out Anakin and other prequel characters appear in Disney theme parks, although Mr. Binks is noticeably absent. There is still a moderate level of prequel merchandising even though the new films dominate the toy lines and Episode III was 12 years ago.
I guess? Theme parks feel like a niche area to me, but I have no idea what kind of broad appeal they have beyond the families who can afford them. The Star Wars Land idea is coming I guess. And there are a lot of toys out there I suppose. But talking of basic stuff like coffee cups, socks, t-shirts etc. there’s usually Vader and all the familiar faces. The Story Spinoff movies are all catering to the same idea, though obviously a few winks to the PT are present.
Maybe ol’ Ben Kenobi will encounter a dark side force user who will deliver some force lightning to his face, making him go from McGregor to Guinness instantly.
Well this is a horrible idea, so yes.
The internet and its use of stupid gifs and captions is the only reason the prequels have lasted even if this long in the public consciousness. They don’t sell a lot of merch relating to it, and the new movies have consolidated the same imagery of Darth Vader, R2-D2 and Chewbacca which is what is iconic to the masses.
I always assumed it was film stocks. Empire still has that washed out 70s look, where it’s often really dark but also lower contrast elsewhere. The further you get into the 80s the more … well 80s it looks.
They are more like lump of cold, dessicated shit that I can step around and overlook.
I have no feelings either way about this. It’s a safe choice of subject matter, in a series of spin offs I have yet to care for. So, go them I guess.
