Underneath the JGL article is this even better (IMO) article on the writing of TLJ. This one pretty well sums up why the Holdo plot was a mess…
This is a good one.
Vader should have said “Needa hand there, Captain?” to stay in character. Maybe the 4K SE will add extra puns.
This thread is the biggest trash heap going, but a few dumb jokes woah that’s going too far.
Hahahaha!
Careful now.
Down with this sort of thing.
I used to use the yellow saber that came with Plo Koon to give Kyle Katarn Yun’s Saber.
I approve.
I hope I ain’t crazy for finding the C3PO and R2 cameo to be stupid cause I groaned when that came on screen. It just felt so hamfisted.
What did you think of the Evazan and Ponda Baba cameo?
It wasn’t hamfisted… it was like the whole swine right up to the elbow.
Yeah Leia had a red blade, I remember that. In the old comics there was a villain with a blue saber with two blades as well. Purple, blue and yellow were all used by bad guys in Dark Forces II.
Technobabble doesn’t belong in a fantasy movie.
I mean of all the little TFA mystery things. One more. That I can remember. Not going to lie I can’t remember things that well. But in terms of Kylo stuff and his choice to do evil I thought it seemed like it would be a thing.

I guess that’s one last item they have for EpIX - the whole helmet thing. Was it speaking literally or was it more like a dark side vision when he touched it?
Oh my gawd haha
That’s why I disagree with the notion that you can show someone the Plinkett reviews in order to convince them that the PT is bad.
If you have to convince someone that the PT is bad, you cannot convince them.
Rational arguments / irrational viewers.
I think some members of this forum think the PT is good and don’t consider themselves irrational.
That’s the problem.
I don’t think it is.
The problem is insisting we must all come to the same conclusions. I enjoy discussing the merits and faults of SW movies. It’s silly and frustrating to go about with an intent of proving people wrong about their views of Star Wars. You may change someone’s view based on a discussion but it’s nothing to you if that doesn’t happen.
Also, there’s something in the rules about personal insults.
Yeah it is silly, sorry I thought that was obvious.

It was fun but it could have been more in depth and looked at the early 90s a little.
Well for it to be a Resistance, it would need to be underground without official support. There was a deleted scene possibly.

Well that’s hard to judge after the fact for me. Things like The Scavenger and the Jedi Steps were great outside the movie, but here it’s less noticeable listening separately.
Red itself being “bad” is just a terrible idea though.
I always heard them say something about ‘Hot Gassing’.
Random memory glitch - for a while as a kid I remembered Vader and Ben duelling on a catwalk, like the one where the tractor beam control was.

This would be fine, if it were not for the fact, that Han, Luke, and Leia are main characters in the saga, and the fact that we’ve already seen three movies about a relatively small rebel force fighting a big bad Empire. It’s extremely jarring to just skip the development of characters you’re invested in, at least for me.
They were only the main characters of the OT, albeit with some carry over since Kasdan got his ROTJ ending ideas put into TFA. But the way you phrase it explains why TLJ doesn’t work for you. I have no problem skipping stuff since they are not the protagonists.

As far as the general public is concerned, it’s been replaced.
If they know at all. I think most don’t even know what they have is putrefied.
