So you’re saying orphans have brain damage?
If only scribd was still around. Guess you’ll have to risk eBay and see if I remembered it right.
I was trying to find an interview with George that was in Empire magazine somewhere in the early 2000s. THX had just been released on DVD so it was a tie-in piece. So like, let’s say 2004. The interviewer asked him about the new changes to the film and the quote I want to say was something like…
“Oh it’s like Star Wars. There is no original version”.
Of course I could be mistaken and this is probably paraphrasing without remembering the actual question the journalist posed but the answer he gave stuck in my brain. I don’t own any copies of this magazine any more and I don’t think there’s a transcript online.
If you do find, this, let me know.
I’d have to find a list of back issues from that year and see if George interview is one of the cover articles. Maybe they’re digital these days.
Edit: Possibly this one https://www.magazinecollectors.co.uk/empire-magazine-185-2004-johnny-depp-cover-p-6973.html
.
There are a lot of very silly ideas floating around here, and none of them fit into the category of ‘desperately playing it safe it please everyone’. I predict 50% ROTJ and 50% True Sith Red Guys vs First Order.
So Luke wasn’t joking back in the original film? 😉
THREEPIO Is there anything I might do to help? Luke glances at the battered robot. A bit of his anger drains and a tiny smile creeps across his face. LUKE Well, not unless you can alter time, speed up the harvest, or teleport me off this rock!So teleportation must be a thing too…
Does astral projection count?
I moonlight as a film critic, and there’s no way I’m rewatching the prequels. Good luck out there.

Indeed very much like the shot of the Tusken Raider in ANH. Here’s the scene:

Obviously, the bluray will give you a much better look at what’s been done here.
All this lame CG editing and nobody remembered to put food in the bowls…

I noticed the 94 from this 20 years ago:
I loved all those Galoob sets.
Also while we’re on the topic of Mon Calamari…
This clueless background guy doesn’t get nearly enough recognition!
Haha he’s like ‘wait what are these red lights for, are we in battle?’
I didn’t see this very recently though I didn’t notice for many years, but does anyone else enjoy the look of shock from Mon Mothma when Admiral Ackbar starts to talk? Like she hasn’t seen the guy before and is really weirded out the whole time he’s speaking.

You’re thinking of a parody or a genre spoof, not a satire.

Anyway instead I found this interview where he claims that it would cost millions to restore a film that multiple fans have recreated with nothing but their own spare time.

More worrying is the implication a Criterion Edition would be the SE…

This time, I watched it on our living room TV and with the occasional taking the dog out for a few moments even then, I now better understand the story and the reason it was so loved and praised by many.
Empire is such a mood movie for me, it’s dark and mysterious and spends time more on real characterisation than anything of the others. It’s also strange and ambiguous in places, are there any particular moments that you have in mind? SW is still my favourite because it’s lighter and fits that adventure movie arc, but they’re almost on equal footing.
Also she talked about on the 40 at 40 interviews.

Yeah I had a few of those in DFII. Some custom Mos Eisley levels and an Obi-wan/Vader duel.
I remember in Jedi Outcast we built a zombie Jedi by stealing textures from Return to Castle Wolfenstein. People seemed to thing the character sound were really creepy but they were just taken from Bossk.
My go to custom map was The Ladder
Nice news. Shame that we can’t rely on it to signal a home release though, I’ve known other films that have screenings at festivals etc but never see the light of day anywhere else.
Should’ve been R5D4
Ugh, that edited Vader strikes again… NES packaging would have made more sense.
Oh god that’s the one they had up on the SW official site somewhere and it vanished. What a monstrosity.
Double post, move along
