Agreed.

Agreed.
They should reboot the whole saga but then write them in a way that TLJ means is still part VIII.
Both have their own dramatic beats which are high points in each movie, but I think ESB has the better fighting style and pacing.
I mean Luke did pull a gun on Jabba and then say ‘this is the last mistake you’ll ever make’. It’s brief but there’s enough darkness for the spirit of the story as a whole.
Knives Out was fun and it’s fair to say his film work is mostly solid. I guess there’s a sequel to that in the works. But if only he’d had more involvement in finishing this trilogy before be got handed another one.
More like 0% since he got banned.
Gross.
Dengar’s racing accident included a lot more slapstick than you imagined.
War of the Bounty Hunters…
'Boba Fett will take on the galaxy’s worst-
I read this as them being the worst at their jobs. Like they’re all just as bad as Boba Fett and keep tripping over and falling into holes. Now there’s a series.
All three have errors. I think it’s supposed to be an intentional mixture of elements but to be honest it just looks wrong.
If Kylo wasn’t dead it would be good to see what else he might go through. Imagine if the next wise old teacher archetype was him. I would care more about bringing Rey back if she wasn’t now powered by evil super-blood.
What? Nobody wants to see that.
Apparently not.
the implanted sensors lacked sufficient discrimination, so that too many ambient sounds were picked up, and their distance and direction were difficult to determine. Sometimes the sensors needled him with feedback, or attached echo or vibrato effects to even the faintest noise.
Yeah but the amount of trash talk about it on somewhere like this is incredibly high. But that’s my entire point. Release the OT today and it will still be ultra successful… except in these kinds of circles.
Where did you dig up this old fossil? XD
Okay but for real it’s ‘do or do not, there is no try.’
These days blockbuster films don’t stand the test of time for a year or two, never mind 4 or 5 decades. Things are not as good as they were and it’s not just nostalgia. Realistically speaking most big popcorn movies barely reach the level of ROTJ, and never the heights the other two. But the truth is most films just get a pass if they follow the Donner Superman structure and have a few gags. In today’s climate people are actually way less critical and gladly eat up most franchises. Rabid hardcore groups don’t count as average movie goers.
Disney just released a censored version of Lilo & Stitch. There’s nothing reasonable about them.
Disney frequently enjoys keeping movies they own locked away, and they’re certainly not in the business of releasing old versions of anything.
That meat looks pretty rotten
Where did his eye-stalks go
They’re never gonna do it. It’s a real sadness.
Rebel trooper battle scene and Owen and Beru BBQ is old 1970s George, not modern family man George.
Yeah this is where I learned what non-anamorphic meant. Terrible. Though it was what it was at the time.
Yeah. I nearly had the opposite thought. It felt like “wow why is the scene treating Luke like he’s this angelic figure?”
But then it all made sense when I remembered… “hypocrisy, hubris.” This is the Luke that island Luke looked back on and felt embarrassed by. Not because he was altogether wrong, but because of his pride.Agreed absolutely. Why would Luke bother to force crush a dark trooper instead of easily cutting it up, if not to demonstrate his own power? (And yes, I know the actual explanation for that is ‘It looks cool’) The Mandalorian’s Luke also compliments TLJ Luke by showing Luke’s effort to find students, and his saying “I will give my life to protect the child” - when he ultimately, indirectly, caused the deaths of his own students by mishandling Ben’s training - makes his self-hatred over that more powerful. I only wish Dave Filoni would talk about TLJ Luke in relation to his appearance in The Mandalorian, that might shut up a lot of people.
I think this analysis is Ironic, because people only bring up this narrative when discussing Luke, no one else in the force. Luke is the only one that is not allowed to show power, Anakin should, Obi wan, Yoda, and even the newbies - Rey and Kylo, showcasing immense abilities despite their lack of training. Everyone enjoys those, but when its Luke - ‘Hold on!’
Not really. Especially with Yoda. The Force should be used for knowledge and defence, I think someone said that somewhere.
Really interesting to see which elements that make it feel more alive, especially the given time and budget restrictions. The wig though hahah.
