Forcefully invading someone’s mind is a no-no in general. Someone in Star Wars didn’t need to tell us that. Especially when the villains are the one who’s doing it in the films.
Clever implementations of Force Lightnibg can circumvent that.
To be honest, Kylo’s interrogation of Rey is not as disturbing as what Spock did to Valeris in Star Trek VI.
I’m not a Trek fan so I’m going to need some context.
Well, like Kylo in TFA, Spock forcibly reads someone’s mind in ST VI. The overall scene is a bit creepy. And unlike TFA this film is a lot less subtle about the fact hat it’s supposed to be quite violating.

I’m sure Spock did what he did for a good reason. Kylo on the other hand read Rey’s to not only locate Skywalker but because he could. There was no reason to look for the negative emotions and memories she harbors in her mind or how she felt that Han could be the Father she never had.
Oh sure, it was a matter of life and death for potentially millions, and the clock was ticking, etc, etc (last act stuff). My point was just that the scene was a little more “blunt” about it than the one in TFA.
I think the only thing that makes it more blunt is that Spock is physically touching her as he’s probing her mind.
I always just assumed he wasn’t as powerful as the Emperor. And I see no reason to abandon that theory.
Well he isn’t. Vader is a Master of the Dark Side but even lesser Sith can conjure up Force Lightning with varying degrees of effectiveness.

I agree. Ever since I have read the things Darth Zannah has done with Sith Sorcery I am not impressed by any harmful Force Abilities in the films.

Vader conquring Force Lightning would be more harmful to himself than the being who would be the intended victim. Using it could either render his cybernetic limbs useless and could also shut down his breathing apparatus. The latter of which killed him in ROTJ.

this is subject to change though. I haven’t seen TFA since May so I don’t know how I’ll feel the next time I see it.
Yeah, him refusing triple the payment indicates that Jabba had other motives; that being to make an example of him. Even having Han’s carbonfrozen body was not only for his own enjoyment but was to incite fear as well.
Also if you don’t watch ROTJ afterward him owing money and not paying it doesn’t effect the plot at all.
EDIT:
I’m sure this has been discussed at some point but let me reiterate. At the end of New Hope Han gets enough money to pay off Jabba the Hut, but in Empire he still has a price on his head. I don’t understand why he didn’t just pay off Jabba first, then meet up with the rebellion on Hoth. Is there a reason for this that I missed?

Well unfortunately it is a plot hole in ESB. He could have paid immediately and return to rebellion or never attempt to do it again. As I said many times on this subject, if Han decided to pay Jabba after 3 years, there is no way Jabba would let him live even if he brought a huge pile of money. As crimelord, keeping ones reputation is the most important thing. A guy who fooled him twice in front of his men, has to be made an example of. There is just no other way.
Well I’ll be…Now let’s see if I can get you to see faults in SW and ROTJ.

That incident must have happened within a week or so of ESB taking place so why didn’t he pay it off in the 3 year time span between SW and ESB? I can understand taking a liking to these people and their cause but he could have at least sent someone to pay the bounty for him seeing as how he was a General in the Rebellion.
