Last song you listened to.

I’d listen to all the screamingest, growliest, most blasphemous death metal in the world before I’d ever voluntarily listen to a single minute of a single Lil Wayne “song”.

…You don’t know in prime Wayne. I have listened to the greats whether it be K.Dot, Tupac, Eminem, Jay-Z, Big L, Nas etc. and Wayne in his prime is on par with all of them and sustained quality material for damn near a decade before falling off. But we live in a world where the “is bad now = always bad” hive mind thinking is very prevalent so it’s just something I’m used to. Also you haven’t listened to Wayne in his prime so you can’t form an opinion about the music he made at that particular time.

I really wish people would stop making these things…

Why?

I think people should just forget about Jar Jar. Whether he’s being discussed in a serious connotation or just for levity I just want us to move on. Secondly, Gungans creep me out. Call me racist all you want but if C-3P0 can share his disgust for Jawas I should be able to do the same for Gungans.

But it’s not so easy to just step away from that as I am leaving behind a sizable portion of my life and would have to make certain changes to fit my current life and the rest I have yet to live.

That’s where the “as you get older” part comes in.

Time will prove if you are correct. Thank you for your time man.

I love Star Wars a lot. Like a whole lot. It’s had a major influence on my life and I’m a walking Wookieepedia (less now with the new canon).

That said, I don’t really feel obsessed and have always felt that I was closer to casual. I don’t live and eat and drink it. I won’t have a weird Star Wars wedding if I get married. I don’t have to buy all the merch or eat the cereal or whatever.

Fandoms in general weird me out, to be honest.

Well then I’m more casual than anything but even taking a step back from where I am now would put me in the place I want to be. Eventually I see myself as the guy who loves Star Wars but only talks about it with friends and family and doesn’t talk on the internet about it. I certainly want to be in a place where a terrible entry into the saga is just something I can brush off.

Can anyone remind me of why being anything more than a casual Star Wars fan is good? I’m not angry or anything but I’m becoming pretty disillusioned with this fandom and even with letting Star Wars affect me in the way that it has.

There are good arguments against being more than a casual fan of anything. As you get older it becomes more obvious.

Well right now I can see money, time and a whole lot of anger and disappointment being a good argument against being anything more than a casual fan. But it’s not so easy to just step away from that as I am leaving behind a sizable portion of my life and would have to make certain changes to fit my current life and the rest I have yet to live.
