this is the last bit of informed guesswork about an older version that we never saw. On the shot where they run past the old Wampa door as it is in the film as we know it. The music could have been originally intended for the last rebel transport cockpit shot calling for Princess Leia and they could not wait much longer. And that is all I have left to say but I am not 100% sure about this but this is currently my instinct.

But I think it matters very little at this stage but again just interesting really.

I would like to see a bunch of fan made trailers could be a good promotional drive before it is finally finished.

How's this for an idea? I'll donate $100 to adywan if you promise to stop pointing out things that need fixing in TESB. Seriously.

Yeah his Episode II & 2 edits were great. His ROTS edit was a bit of a dissapointment. If you want a Prequel Trilogy that syncs with the OT I recommend the Fall Of The Jedi Episodes I and II and Hal 9000's Labyrinth Of Evil edit. But if you do get LOE you should get his first release because in v2 he brung back the chosen one subplot from the theatrical release. 

I have to ask how are you going to introduce the chosen one subplot and still make it bend to the OT's cannon?

I just saw something on facebook that made me think....Could it be possible to refilm some of the Luke v Vader duel in ROTJ:R? I think it is if you don't show the actor who is playing Luke. I mean the duel in ROTJ was okay, but the choreography was weaksauce even in comparison to the ESB duel. There is even a part in the duel where Luke and Vader do the same exchange for like 5 seconds. I think with some enhancements this could be the greatest duel in the OT bar none.

I wasn't attacking you. Just making a statement about fanedit dispersal in general. Posting links on the thread would make the process a lot more streamlined. A lot of people who are interested in fanedits often lose interest seeing as how hard it is to obtain one. 

I don't understand this fixation of getting DL links from PM's. It's unreliable because some people are busy and are liable to go offline for months at a time. Also, is there another place where I can download this from? Speedyshare is giving me a 28.5 kb/s DL speed.

I felt the need to state that fact because of your attitude in response to Muddyknees2000. "Stop it right there" and then going on to whine about the release date being pushed back.

It was a reminder that Ady is making it for himself, therefore he can take as long as he needs to. I hope this clarifies things for you.

The only reason I responded with such vigor was because muddyknees threw a jab for no apparent reason; calling us entitled just because we want an update. It's not like mfastx was ranting; he just made an observation that since he comes here for news and he's not getting any it's disappointing. And I defended him. There's nothing more to discuss.

Miniscule? Really? Just off the top of my head he still has 2 miniature sets, Han in Carbonite and the new Wampa to build. Then there's filming and compositing these things and any After Effects tweaks and colour correction to integrate them into the film.

Then he has to rebuild the sound mix from scratch.

He's not making this just for you.

There is no need or obligation on anyone's part to give you an update though.

I understand the frustration but Ady isn't Ebay or Amazon. You haven't ordered something online which has turned up late. He is a chap with a life to lead and guess what...if he updated us all the time we would have no surprises in the final project and he wouldn't have the time to finish it.

 I really don't care about getting an update on a regular basis, but I was giving the reason why people are asking for them.

The transition is very nice minus the "3 years later" text. In fact it isn't needed because in ROTS Anakin's hair is considerably longer than it was in AOTC which indicates some time has passed.

 No, it bothers me too, just that I only recently started noticing it, so I have to remember that between the last time I saw the film, and the first time several decades ago, it was fine.

If Ady decides to change it, it won't bother me.

 He'd have to rebuild the canyon and shoot it over again so it makes sense seeing as how the TIEs have a clear shot at the Millennium Falcon. At this point that seems unlikely.

it falls short. And before you say "STAR WARS was shot back in 1976." just remeber that Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing gave good performances in STAR WARS so there's no excuse. As for redubbing I only mentioned Mark and Carrie. Everyone else did a serviceable to good jobs.

I certainly don't mean to take your words out of context, my only point is that "better than the OUT" is a subjective thing. There can be no "definitive, objective" "better than" the OUT; even if this hypothetical new dialogue was written by a modern-day Shakespeare, it wouldn't "fit" with the movie to some people, just like the "improvements" in the SE don't "fit" with the movie for the majority of people here.

Personally, I think all revisions to Star Wars should be treated as alternate versions. Not one, even if it was an objectively "better" version, would replace the OUT for me, and I think that's why you're catching so much flak from so many people.

The reason I am getting so much shit for this is that people like to feel that their opinions matter. That no matter how flawed someones belief is (for example: people thinking that Jack Nicholson was a better Joker than Heath Ledger or that Michael Keaton was a better Batman than Christian Bale or that homosexuals shouldn't get married) people want to have their beliefs validated. Look at how detrimental this has been to society. With this line of thought only 10 states in the USA have gay marriage legal in them because now it is all important to have no one's feelings regardless of objectivity. And yes I realize the world isn't anywhere close to ready for objectivity to be the ruling thought process among Homosapiens. I know you all have an emotional connection to the OUT and even though I didn't grow up with the OUT (But I certainly do own them) I see where you're coming from although I find that thought process to be inadequate and there is nothing I can say to change your minds. I do want the OUT on Blu-Ray because it is a piece of history that should be immortalized, but IF I had to pick a version of Star Wars to show ET's or anybody else I would show them SW:R. And if Earth were being destroyed and I had to pick one version of Star Wars to take with me I'd choose SW:R....Perhaps I should have said exactly that....>_>
