I was always incredulous to why she was such a sycophant when she was introduced.

Inept writing is probably the answer.

More like her trying to win favor with Vader which made her privy to information that could lead her to getting currency. I have no idea what inept writing would have to do with it.

Yes, well, there isn't exactly enough out there to make an accurate assessment yet. What there is, though, either disinterests me or leaves me cold. That may change in the future, but with Lucasfilm's track record, I have very serious doubts.

No truer words have ever been spoken.

I will admit that my interest has slowly waned as it pertains to the Star Wars and Darth Vader comics. Though Vader discovering Luke was the one who destroyed the Death Star and knowing Sidious lied about his offspring could yield some very interesting situations and character progression.

Then why in the mother of fuck are you reading these series of comics?

Perhaps if the nuEU wasn't already succumbing to poor quality control, I'd be less pissy.

Don't you mean "If the EU wasn't scrapped, I'd be less pissy"?

If you knew Duracell just a bit better, you'd know that wasn't the case at all. He's the one who started the "What do you HATE about the EU" thread, and his head canon is vastly different from the old official canon (and the new).

I think he's just disappointed that the nuEU isn't of superior quality to the old.

There's shit I hate about Breaking Bad, Dexter, South Park and Game Of Thrones....Your point being?

He has not read enough to make an accurate assessment.

I'm irate as well. Having come of the Darth Bane trilogy I know with absolute certainty that nothing in the nuEU come close to coming close. Whether it be comics, movies or novels. But the masquerading and the transparency is something I could do without.

Yay, another pointless development that'll ultimately have no impact on the characters whatsoever since we all know how Han & Leia's relationship pans out.

Han having a wife will most certainty stall the development of the relationship.

So what? If this was 1978-1983, this story might work -- TESB and/or ROTJ haven't come out yet, so there's no way of knowing what will happen with the characters.

However, this isn't the late '70s/early '80s, this is 2015; I know things work out perfectly for them, so what am I supposed to fear for? One way or another, Mrs. Han Solo I will quickly exit stage right and it will be like she never was there to begin with.

Then why in the mother of fuck are you reading these series of comics? Shouldn't this predictability hinder you from Rogue One and the inevitable Old Republic movies as well? And that should certainly have deterred you from viewing the PT.

1. No, I haven't forgotten. Of course, perhaps I don't really care.  Perhaps I think that after decades of stories focused on the Big Three, there's no more mileage to be found in their stories. Perhaps I think instead of focusing on Luke/Leia/Han, this series should do something different like -- oh, I don't know -- focusing on peripheral and original characters in the SW Universe."

Well I hope the ST is too your liking but I doubt it will live up to any inane expectations any of us have.

"Roadblock" is just another word for "filler", right?

Pretty much. I'm sure Marvel plans on making over 100 comics in each series there has to be something to fill the pages. Plus, I have never encountered a relationship that had no hurdles to be overcome. No arguments, breaches of trusts or hiatuses. Even for developing relationships there can be other factors that can bring it to a standstill. Having everything hunky dory would just be unrealistic.

And I don't care. Creatively-bankrupt Marvel hasn't given me any reason to care.

Way perpetuate the stereotype that Star Wars fans complain about everything no matter how minute. Now it seems that we will complain about shit that hasn't fully panned out yet.

If you can write a better story line for the current continuity...by all means. I'd love to see what your mind conjures up.

Han having a wife will most certainty stall the development of the relationship. You seem to forget that there is 3 years of space between ANH and ESB so this is a much needed roadblock.

Also none of us know the nature of this marriage or how it was orchestrated so your complaints at this juncture are unwarranted. Not only that...Han having a secret wife fits his character...

I've consulted a team of linguists and we still can't discern what you were trying to convey there.

Also, they said you're a dick.

Pretty much I'm saying I was defending the stand-point of some of the other members.

And i would care why? Just because some people (such as I) on here don't want to teased for 5 years about the release of a project doesn't warrant this hostility. I know I haven't exhibited the most mature behavior on here but a growth in that department for you should be a prerequisite for you being allowed to procreate or do just about anything else in life you vomit encrusted turd..

And yes I know entitled this pretentious that blaz-a-blah.

For ice-cream than never runs out and I can enjoy for the rest of my life?

Yes.

Especially in this scenario, where I can live a normal life and do whatever I want on my way to the ice-cream truck, as opposed to being stuck in a car.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

It's still ice cream that is at this point beyond our grasp. It's not like you're ever going to forget about it completely.

Is there some way we can prevent this guy from ever getting a copy of ESB:R?  He doesn't deserve one.

Just trying to bolster the reasons why some people here hold that position as it pertains to this matter. It humors me that it gets you so salty.

The movie's already there...He has no reason to redo every single frame, make Dagobah miniatures, and such.

Every time I read comments like this, I keep picturing myself in the van on the way to get ice cream...

You see, we're poor and live far outside the city, so we never get to have ice cream in town - but when we do, it's a real treat!  I look forward to it every time, no matter how long it takes to get there.  I'm so excited!

We're in the car for a while, the beautiful scenery is passing by outside the window, and all I can think about is how great this ice cream is gonna be!  I know it's taking a while, but man, it's gonna be so good!

However, I have a little brother sitting next to me... He is a little bit more selfish than I remember myself being at that age...  Always wants everything handed to him on a silver platter right when he asks for it.  It's quite a pain, really... (you know how it is, I'm sure...)

Then he starts...

"Are we there yet?"

'Oh no' I think... not this... not now...

"Not yet, honey, it's still a while - just sit back and enjoy the view.  Think about what flavor you're going to get while you wait!"

A few minutes goes by in silence...

"Are we there yet?" he asks again.

"Not yet..."

A few minutes later...

"Are we there yet?"

I can see the frustration in my parents - through the backs of their heads.

"Not yet, sweetheart, just stop asking - we'll get there when we get there."

The tension is palpable...

Please God... don't let him ask again...

"Are we ther..."  My brother starts to ask but my father interrupt him.

"That's it!  I'm turning around, no one's getting ice cream!"

...

So everyone in the future please... Don't make Adywan turn the car around...  The ice cream is totally worth the long drive: just sit back, enjoy the ride, and shut up.

Would you go on a 7 year car ride for some ice-cream?

Nope! Did you know you can talk in other threads about other topics? This thread is for ESB:Revisited. A different thread is for the Revisited Saga, and thus the Revisited Prequels. That thread can be found here.

That thread is usually rather barren as well.....But technically you are right.

I know there are a few items left before it's complete, but what's next?

Han in carbonite left to do, as well as the wampa. A few little tweaks here and there probably, and then the audio. That's the stuff that I'm personally aware of.

What specifically is he fixing regarding the Wampa?

Watched your clip again today and there is one more thing I noticed again it is not a problem that is created by revisited it is again a carry over from the original.

In this shot the ground in the original is untextured (no grooves or bumps in the snow) and the ground has no movement.

As a quick mock up example of how it could look with texture on the ground I did a still.

I don't know if this is actually doable and it is no biggie but I thought about the ground in a few shots before this one the external shot and the ground here could perhaps be re-used or another shot to add velocity that was never here previously. It's a small continuity error that could potentially make it feel much better but I thought I would point it out. I  think this shot could have just been a painting rather than moving footage which is in all the other shots in the sequence.

Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all and thanks for sharing your great work. Now go and drink Beer :)

 Goddammit we trusted you!

I mean SPECIFICALLY what is better?

I enjoy that, in Q2's edit: Vader is not mentioned; the suit is not shown; and Padme doesn't die.

I would like for him to include a Kerr-style Palpatine "sith-reveal", but only if it looks good. Many other edits that have done this don't implement it very well.

For one thing FOTJ Episode III had far more noticeable video and audio cuts than LOE. Q2 also took out the "I hate you!" line. Say what you will about the rest of Hayden's performance but that line was incredibly powerful and was delivered pretty damn well. It really comes down to the LOE's superior and quite frankly more professional editing in comparison to FOTJ episode III.

It's been a while since I watched FOTJ Episode III and I have no interest in watching it again unless Q2 releases a v2.

I disagree about the noticeability of cuts. I've watched FOTJ 3 many times (and recently) and I don't immediately recall a scene that was obvious it had been cut. Maybe only the first line given by Anakin as we don't see his face delivering it, since Q2 wanted to have Obi-Wan appear onscreen first.

A noticeable amount of people who reviewed it noted there were more visual and audio cuts that were noticeable in comparison to the first two. We're not making it up. The way the fight scenes flowed and the exchanges of dialogue were all wisely edited for the sole purpose of the edit. Something I can't say about FOTJ Episode III. In that edit the actual edits seemed more personal.

LOE has places where there is lots of action with not enough dialogue. The initial space battle carries on for far too long when there's nothing to gain by it, and showing R4 die when we don't care about nor notice him isn't important to keep.

For one the space battle over Coresaunt was shorter than the one in FOTJ. Secondly, Hal most likely showed R4 dying for continuities sake.

Having Padme die in LOE creates an EU-nerdy argument about why Leia remembers her when Luke doesn't; FOTJ remedies this by having Padme go into hiding with Leia.

This is a vile and odious lie! Hal inserted a scene from another movie with Natalie Portman holding a baby which signified she didn't die in his edit.

I can't believe you picked that one inconsequential line from Anakin to specifically point out you didn't like being cut. I find the fact that Anakin was trying at length to kill Obi-Wan makes it quite obvious that Anakin hates him. That one line being in makes little difference.

This isn't some obscure line; it was the line that was suppose to bring the full weight of everything that transpired in the trilogy on the audience. And I can't believe you outright lied about something just as an attempt to win a point. And there were other lines he took out but the removal of the "I hate you" line was the most egregious.

Just joined this forum hopin' to watch this fan edit. Is this still considered one of the better TPM edits? I keep wanting to rewatch the movie, but everytime I've done that I've totally regretted it. Ha!

Yeah his Episode II & 2 edits were great. His ROTS edit was a bit of a dissapointment. If you want a Prequel Trilogy that syncs with the OT I recommend the Fall Of The Jedi Episodes I and II and Hal 9000's Labyrinth Of Evil edit.

 Why?

FOTJ Episode III is better than the other Episodes III in my opinion. What is it about LOE that you would consider superior?

The video and audio editing is superior by leaps and bounds.

Let Adywan finish ESB Revisited first. Then wait for him to finish ROTJ revisited. Then wait for him to finish the prequels revisited. THEN we could try to answer your question.

That's going to be a long ass time from now. He/she probably will have forgotten about the Revisited Saga by then.
