I just wish Kylo Ren only took his mask off in front of Han Solo, the rest of the movie he could should have kept it on, but perhaps the mask had some sand caught inside it from the planet Jakku which was coarse and rough and irritating…

That’s what my edit is going to do.

I know this is a very controversial edit, but I’m removing the interrogation scene between Rey and Kylo. Vader never interrogated Luke, so it makes it more powerful that Rey’s ultimate confrontation with Kylo is a battle.

…That has to be something I have to watch to judge. That scene is always one that left me with an impression.

I love how Maz asks “Who’s the girl?” and then cut before Han can answer.

I don’t like it as much as

Luke’s just not a farmer Owen; he has too much of his father in him.

That’s what I’m afraid of

but I like it nonetheless. Just a small example of how TFA excels at building anticipation for the sequels. I haven’t been this excited for something in a long long time.

Yoda Is Your Father said:
My theory is that Ben Solo had a younger sister and when he went bad they hid Rey to stop it from happening to her too.

I’m leaning more towards cousin because of the look Luke gave her and I think she definitely was at the Jedi Academy and his minimalist training. Maybe a rudimentary practice in Shii-cho which to my recollection is the form that Jedi’s learn first in terms of lightsaber dueling. After Kylo Ren and The Knights of Ren destroyed it all her mind was wiped by Luke. I also think the part in the Force Flashback is a false memory I think she was 10 - 13 when her mind was wiped. This is the wildest of speculation.

It’s funny but would never happen

Welcome to the wonderful world of memes, where minor character traits are overemphasized and exaggerated for humourous effect.

Whether it’s for humorous effect Hux would still be deadly scared of him. I’m not fond of memes that don’t make sense and it was mostly just an example. I’ll find a better example of what I’m talking about which will be tomorrow because I’m drinking right now and don’t feel like it.

If you ignore trolls, they go away.

In this day and age it’s impossible to distinguish a troll from someone with a really obscure opinion. 5+ years ago it wasn’t this hard but there’s been an awakening. A shift in perspective that was caused when facts and opinions started becoming blurred and solid reasoning was abandoned in favor of equality. And now we have come to this point…

If what you are saying wasn’t stupid and was actually true, I would say the change was that people started to use their own heads.

What facts? When it comes to film impression, there are just opinions. I guess your perception of facts and opinions is blurred.

Trolls usually spew half truths, popular misconceptions and sometimes blatant lies in order to keep the conversation going. A few years ago it was easy to spot a troll but now adays there are times when you’re arguing with someone who has an obscure opinion they sometimes resort to the using similar if not the same rationales for why the like or dislike something. So when someone says something like “salacious crumb was the best thing about the Saga” you don’t know if they’re serious or not.

I hope I adequately explained this.

EDIT:

Also to be fair popular misconceptions are a HUGE reason it’s hard to tell a troll from a person with a vastly different perspective.

I’m not sure if this is the correct thread to post this but am I the only one who is sick of the half assed memes?

I guess the person who made this forgot that Kylo threatened Hux’s life (implied threat) and Hux didn’t say shitall.

It also pisses me off that Kylo is now seen as a whiner like Anakin even though her never whined ONCE in the film. Seeing stuff like this on a daily basis is beginning to piss me off because now people are taking the stuff literally.

Eh. I thought that one was kinda funny.

It’s funny but would never happen and only perpetuates the stereotype that Kylo Ren would get his ass kicked by a teletubby.

Even more ridiculous than two seater tie fighters to serve narrative

And this is why Frink thinks you’re trolling.

I couldn’t give a fuck what anyone thinks, the fact is there, a two seater tie fighter to transport two characters to serve the shitty narrative function

Or maybe because it’s been 30 years and technology is going to improve over time. It’s not that deep.

one of which is the only storm trooper ever to defect and be openly welcomed by the rebellion Star pilot who has spent his life killing storm troopers, suddenly decided to trust one

Given that there was no way to escape and the likihood of a Stromtrooper coming to rescue you (which is virtually nil) I would trust him. What choice would he have?

I have no idea what you insist on making this so easy for me but whatever…destroying your perspective gives me my confidence boost for the day.

Rogue One is just another Prequel (same continuity different story thread).

Technically you’re right but they’re classifying it as a spinoff film so what can we say?

As long as the story is new and the characters are as good as the one’s in TFA I’ll be happy.

Also as long as it feels like it’s in the Star Wars universe and doesn’t clash with the OT in terms of continuity I’ll be fine with them…though I admit that the Han Solo film will be hard to sell to a guy like me.

the only hyperbole in here is in the discourse surrounding TFA being a good film

Well this thread would be a lot more negative if most of the Anti TFA’s people’s arguments were sound. Don’t be mad because we can adequately defend our position.

Also seeing as how you put TFA on the same grounds as the PT I wouldn’t even use the word “hyperbole”

It is on the same ground as the PT…it’s a spin off

Rogue One is a spin off. The Force Awakens is a sequel. These are facts…not opinions.

If I were you, i.e. a defender of TFA, I would rather argue it was rushed. At least there would be an excuse why it is so bad.

The only thing that was “bad” about the ending is that Starkiller Base attack seemed like it wasn’t even pertinent. I was far more invested with what was going on with Kylo, Han, Finn and Rey.

I’ve already supplied my reasoning for my dislike of any spin offs of the OT. They are not star wars films. They fail to follow the iconography, the codes and conventions, the mis en scene and the mythological creation of the OT.

Basically you’re saying you don’t like anything that dares to be different, regardless of its actual quality.

Yep – that’s an OT chauvinist in the nutshell.

Quality? I’ve yet to see any.

Or you’ve yet to actually see the film.

Regardless of your gripes there has to be SOMETHING you can get out of TFA and be like “Okay they did good in this regard”. Even if it’s something like the set design or the sound design. Something dude.

opening fanfare perhaps

At least that’s something…kind of. I’m actually surprised you could conjure up something. Hopefully you can find more things to like about the Sequels. If you actually watch them before forming an opinion.

EDIT:

I tried to like it, wanted to like it

We both know that’s not true.

Why wouldn’t it be true

Because you exhibited willful ignorance, cognitive dissonance and you have made blatant statements that strongly suggest that you have preconceived notions about things before viewing them.

EDIT:

Also you use hyperbole as a crutch like Vader uses his suit like a crutch.

But I will not be going to the cinema to view any more I can definitely say that with conviction

Good, be miserable.

It’s barely a film. It’s a bunch of cutscenes.

An accurate review of tfa

You are so detached from reality I’m honestly having a hard time figuring out if you believe anything you say or if you are trolling. ROTS contains almost no sets, it’s all greenscreen and computer animation. Half the movie is nothing but a video game.

I don’t care how much you hate TFA, it is nothing like ROTS in that regard.

TFA was a rushed together piece of incoherent nonsense.

The only thing that was rushed in TFA was the ending. And it wasn’t even rushed by that much.

  6. The Special Edition OT

Have you even seen TFA or do you just disregard it because Lucas wasn’t involved?

I just found it to be a completely imagination-free uninspired cash grab.

And ROTS isn’t?

No?

Check into rehab because you’ve clearly been hitting the sauce too much.
