I’m not sure you knew this but there’s more to Star Wars than the OT. A lot more. Some better; a lot worse.

Opinions don’t circumvent facts.
We are not discussing facts here. In case you didn’t notice, his thread is called “What didn’t you LIKE about TFA?”.
The way in which TIE Fighters are parked is something that is empirical and using Rebels as a canon reference is based on facts. Your opinion on the show has absolutely no bearing on the validity of a canon reference. Find another excuse.

On top of that, I think several EU sources introduced that concept way before.indicate (to me at least) that these are separate points. I was completely warranted in leaving out the latter sentence.
You were warranted to leave out latter sentence, however you were not warranted to leave out half of the former, which is the point here.
Even then you not liking Rebels doesn’t mean anything when it’s a valid reference because it’s canon. It doesn’t matter if I included it or not because I can say the same thing to both statements.
I would say the film wasn’t accurate because every single thing in the past has used that setup, EU or not.
Rebels introduced TIEs parked this way, before TFA did.
Rebels is shit
And that pertains to the topic how?
How about stop cutting things out of a sentence and read it as a whole before making such stupid question?
The rest of the sentence doesn’t change a damn thing. Just because you find the show to be shit doesn’t mean anything because it’s not a canon reference. Furthermore, the spaces between these two statements

Rebels is shit, so it is not really a good reference.

I’m not talking about the point of the movie.
Oh I’ve known that for years. Doesn’t make his “courtship” any less creepy.
@Lord Haseo: maybe you’re making a–bad–joke but I don’t think you got the point of Blade Runner.
No, I’m speaking with all sincerity. In general I would see non robots/androids to be objects.

straight-up rapist Deckard in Blade Runner
To be fair it was a Replicant…
EDIT:
As for the rest of your post I’m sure Han’s aggressiveness is due to 3 years of sexual tension.

I couldn’t conjure the semi adequate words to respond to such a statement even my life was on the line. But if that’s how you feel.
That may be problematic due to how old Max is and the first thing Kylo Ren said to him was “Look how old you’ve become.”
While CGI is getting there I’m still getting a slight uncanny valley vibe.
Saw this on TheForce.net today and it made me happy.

I just had my second viewing yesterday so it’s very fresh in my mind. And it was in a theater with 8 people in it. No screaming. No applause whatsoever. The exact opposite of my opening weekend IMAX experience. And I appreciate the movie’s quality even more now. I was in a ridiculous adrenaline rush the first viewing. This time as noted above, the nods to the OT were not so glaring at all. What I did notice this time around was how well shot it was. The camera work pulls you into the action. When Rey and Finn run into the Falcon to find the controls, the camera is darting right along with them bringing such a frenetic feel to the scene. On my first viewing I thought Kylo Ren took off his helmet a lot. This time I realize he actually doesn’t. He almost does it to disarm his enemy in both situations (Rey and Solo). It just adds to the fact that he is far more interesting and complex villain than ANH Vader.
and I confirmed my initial thought on the film- it is much much more like ESB than ANH. Who would’ve thought Vader would offer Luke a role at his side? What would happen to Han? How could the rebellion survive? What would Luke do? ESB was all about turning points and cliffhangers. And so is TFA. It’s such a phenomenal set up for ep 8. There’s so much to debate and speculate about based on what we actually saw on screen and not the endless detail-filling required with the PT. I loved this film on the first viewing but have even greater respect for it seeing it without the frenzied crowd.
It’s a SW film that restored the mythos, wonder, SOUL, energy and FUN the franchise lost long ago. after being trounced by the far superior Matrix, Jar Jar’d to no end, and critically ripped, Star Wars has finally returned to its proper position in pop culture. TFA redeemed the franchise and I couldn’t be happier.
The complaint about the two-seated TIE Fighter might be the nit pick to end all nit picks…
You should be my chosen successor should I ever become weary of hearing/reading such inane complaints.
I could care less about the spin off films to be honest even though I want a Vader film more than I want to see the ST conclude.
That means you do care, at least a little.
About Vader? Sure but it wouldn’t matter if they made it a novel I still want a Vader story where he’s purging the remnants of the Jedi Order.

I think for at least the next 5 years it will be fine but when they really start to milk it is when it will all turn to shit.Yeah, I have a bad feeling that once the ST concludes everything will go downhill. I liked TFA enough to be fairly confident in the rest of the ST but after that I am terrified. Especially since Iger said that the movies will continue “forever”.
I’m okay with there being another trilogy IF the Dark Side prevails this time around.

And the little bit of the plot.
That’s still not a lot considering we don’t how much Vader will be featured in the film. As it pertains to TFA I needed to see the 1st trailer before coming to any kind of assessment.
With Disney as creator this can only be a mess.

Or everething i have seen of Rogue One so far.
Which is barely anything aside from that picture with the cast in costume and a logo.

But if you make a sequel with nearly the same plot, it’s stupid to copy the plot-holes too.
The number of plot holes that are brought over from ANH to TFA are minimal though. Plus the bigger fuss was made about the contrivances whether they be from ANH or not. Which is kind of inane because every Star Wars film is saturated with plot contrivances .
Honestly if it’s bad writing in ROTS it’s bad writing in ROTJ as well. They’re both retcons. Leia was never adopted until Lucas decided to make her Luke’s sister.
Sure ROTJ doesn’t necessarily directly contradict anything in the previous films, but, and maybe it’s just me, there still seems to be a logical leap in Luke and Leia’s conversation. Leia already knew she was adopted (and Luke for that matter)? Seems to come out of nowhere and never fit right for me.
We never really see Leia properly react to the terrible truth that Vader is actually her father
Yeah that has always bothered me. She reacted more to finding out that Vader was Luke’s father than her finding out her own heritage. You would think that finding out the right hand of the Devil was your father would at least warrant a “Come again” or her jaw dropping slightly. Anything other than her pretty much brushing it off. I attribute this to George’s inability to work with actors and Carrie Fisher’s so-so acting.
On the fence about the whole Malgus thing but Kylo should definitely inherit Vader’s lightsaber when he completes his training.
The only reason I haven’t made a big fuss about these plot points being repeated is that there is a decent amount of repackaging and reworking which made the film feel fresh to me. To answer your question no I don’t think the obvious similarities should be ignored HOWEVER we as fans need to accept that this “comparison” is half assed.
All true vampires sparkle.
No true vampire does not sparkle.
True Blood vampires sparkled in excrement during the later seasons of the show.
I heard a theory yesterday that Snoke was Leia and to be honest if Carrie Fisher got burned in the face those two could be twins
