I actually think the opposite. Seems like it would be Disney World’s attempt at making an imposing theme for out baddies.

My point is that the Resistance isn’t supposed to be ā€˜baddies’

For some reason I had the impression that that song was The March of The First Order. That’s what I get for skimming before making a reply.

Have you played SWTOR?

No, but I hear that even with the Revan expansion there’s still little to noting to do in the end game so I don’t know if it’s worth it. Looks kind of fun for an MMO though.

Well SWTOR might be officially MMO but MMO related stuff is rather secondary to its storyline (single player) content. Basically I didn’t care about MMO stuff (PVP, end game PVE) or expansions and I kept my interaction with other players to an absolute minimum to maintain the immersion. I would also suggest avoiding any Revan related side story stuff.

If you ever decide to try you shouldn’t worry about having little to do. The original eight characters storyline content is huge. I would suggest trying Imperial Agent or Sith Warrior storylines. In particular, Agent got an universal praise among players.

I may get it if it’s less than 30 dollars.

Movies are going to be inherently inferior to video games in certain ways. For example Bastila Shan is more developed in Kotor than the entire trio in the OT combined. And she’s not even the most interesting character in the game. As someone who has played and watched both things I am telling you it’s unfair to compare them.

My friend says that KOTOR is the best piece of Star Wars media, and even though I’ve played the game I know it can’t be true! I don’t know the first thing about the game so I can’t argue! Please give me reasons why it is inferior to TESB! PLEASE!

Easy - it’s a video game.

Spoken like someone who has never played a video game

If anything that is an argument for it. With a video game not only do you have player choices you can completely change the entirety of story with your decision. There is no alternate version of ESB and ROTJ where Luke decides to join Vader even though that would have been a lot better than what we got. Also the characters, plot and even sidequests are fare more fleshed out due to it being a video game. And like I said before the moral dilemmas offer a more riveting plot in my opinion.

It’s unfair to compare a movie in a video game just like it’s unfair to compare a movie to a book.

Well KOTOR2 just have too many ridiculous stuff in it (plus a disappointing ending) to be on par with KOTOR.

The ending did sucked ass I agree but I found the moral dilemmas and the greyness of everything to be even done better in Kotor II and I just enjoy it more than the first one. Also the combat is better.

Of course it has some nice moments but overall it is just not on the same level as KOTOR. SWTOR on the other hand I would say is for the most part on KOTOR level.

Coincidentally I’m running through Star Wars and I’m currently playing Kotor (on the Unknown World atm) so after I finish Kotor II I’ll give an updated analysis. I will say this though…Kotor is definitely better than I gave it credit in my first 3 playthroughs.

After Kotor II I’m going to read Revan then The Darth Bane trilogy then Plagueis after that. Next I will watch fanedited versions of the PT and then I will read Lord of The Sith. All that’s left is the OT and hopefully by then TFA will have come out on Bluray

Kotor and Kotor II are on par in nearly every regard and in some ways it surpasses the OT. For one both plots are simple and both have the best plot twist in their respective genres though I feel like the ā€œNo, I am your father.ā€ twist is better even though I was already privy to the twist before I watched the OT in it’s totality for the first time. In terms of general plot I’m going to have to give Kotor the edge because moral dilemmas make for a more interesting story than the OT being all Good vs Evil. At it’s core Kotor is Good vs Evil but a lot of what you do to achieve that can be in the grey area. Jolee’s side quest being the best example of this. In terms of characters Kotor has it hands down. There are so many fleshed out characters Kotor it make the characterization and such in the OT look like child’s play. From the moral dilemmas they have to they arguments and banter that occurs between characters are far more fixated on than what was shown in the OT. But it’s kind of unfair to compare the two because on is a 20+ hour video game and the other are only 6 hours worth of film. And the result of that is that gives the characters and environment to be fleshed out more.

Kylo should definitely inherit Vader’s lightsaber when he completes his training.

Yes, because one lightsaber miraculously retrieved from oblivion wasn’t coincidental enough …

Really any type of logic regarding things/people surviving falls was thrown out of the window in ESB. Luke surviving his fall is something we attribute that to the will of the force. The same can be applied to a lightsaber.

Of course, hardly anybody complained when Timothy Zahn did the same thing in the Thrawn trilogy. But put the same idea in a film and you have Internet forums exploding with nerd rage.

I think you’re asking for consistency in the Star Wars community. I think you’re asking for too much.

I’m not sure you knew this but there’s more to Star Wars than the OT. A lot more. Some better; a lot worse.

Oh really? I want to hear more about this.

Knights of The Old Republic and it’s sequel, The Thrawn Trilogy (which I find kind of overrated as well), Plagueis, Lost Stars and the trilogy that doesn’t need to be named are all on par with the OT in my opinion even though most are not canon. Because of these works my love for Star Wars has never been stronger…well that was the contention I held until I saw TFA.
