He seemed like good ol’ Han to me. Trying to talk his way out of certain death, making wise cracks and when one of them sees BB-8 and assumes Rey and Finn are on board he tries to save them by acting as if they didn’t exist. Sounds like Han to me.

I’m not saying one shouldn’t change his behavior in his life, but I myself think in that scene he acts more like some kind of comedian than the cold-blooded cowboy of the OT, the one who shoots first, asks questions later. He should’ve just said “Boring conversation anyway” and blasted his way to the Falcon 😄 , instead it reminds me of his deleted line in ROTJ, that is Han trying to do an Indiana Jones’ impression or something :\

He was surrounded on both sides so anything like that would ended in certain death.

The latter quote was sarcasm mate.

Well seeing as how scornful the first quote is it was kind of hard to tell.

Establishing a character that has been around an entire trilogy before that to show him doing exactly the same shit which does not add anything to the story

I guess you were dosing off when he told Leia “I went back to the only thing I was good at”. So in a sense it does add to the story because it shows what part of the effect Kylo Ren had on him.

75 yo smuggler, stealling from martial artist asian space cowboy bebop dudes

They never used Martial Arts though…that can be considered racist in some circles lol

in a scene where he’s more a goofy GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY protogonist than the legendary Han Solo…

He seemed like good ol’ Han to me. Trying to talk his way out of certain death, making wise cracks and when one of them sees BB-8 and assumes Rey and Finn are on board he tries to save them by acting as if they didn’t exist. Sounds like Han to me.

“if you kill me, Ren, I’ll… well, I’ll just die because I know nothing of the Force so… hum… why am I doing here again ?”

To save his son genius. To save his son.

not my fault people are attacking left and right on my OPINIONS of just a MOVIE. Sorry if it got to your feelings.

Over-react much? This is a weird thread, better lock it down if someone doesn’t like something in the movie, OMG!

Seems like you’re the one who’s in your feelings mate.

Haha! You mean that silly CG crap that hurt my eyes for three minutes and added nothing to any sense of peril?

Han Solo is so dumb in this entire scene

Here we go again…Elaborate please

this scene was the final blow at his dignity

It was a similar scene to the Greedo scene in STAR WARS. Both establish that Han’s an unreliable person who doesn’t pay his debts. I don’t really see the problem.

Kylo kills him with mercy I believe “father, what have you become ?”

I have read this sentence at least 8 times and I haven’t the slightest idea at what you’re trying to get at.

Actually, the fiery explosions come from the fuel and oxygen inside the pressurized ship. Now, that doesn’t mean the way it occurs in the films is completely realistic.

I guess you could say the plasma would have something to do with it too but I am lead to believe that the vacuum of space would negate any sort of reaction. Also speaking of plasma, any advanced civilization would know that heavy objects propelled at high speed would be more effective than any laser. But blaster bolts and what not look cool.

I really liked season 1 of Rebels, but what I’ve seen of season 2 looks horrible. Kind of like the opposite of Clone Wars.

Me too. The last 2 episodes of Season 2 were the first episodes I liked from this season.

I thought the Siege of Lothal was a good episode

ESB outclasses STAR WARS in terms of plot, pacing, action, acting , special effects and just about every other term I can conjure up in my mind.

there are a lot more issues with matte boxes and blue screen lines.

That’s only because there are more special effects. If STAR WARS had the same amount the number of especial effects as ESB these same problems would be more abundant in STAR WARS. But that’s because both films are products of their time and both aged relatively well IMO.

Star Wars is far better paced than Empire strikes back.

After C3P0 and R2 crash on Tatooine the film doesn’t pick up back again until R2 runs off to find Obi-Wan. ESB is constantly exciting and there’s no lull like there is in STAR WARS.

Star Wars ends on a high

ESB ends on a low. There are so many things left unfinished that it makes you want to watch ROTJ immediately afterward. I can’t say the same for STAR WARS.

Legacy of Sequel Trilogy?

They are one with the Force. There’s your perfectly good explanation.

I can live with that rationalization

The purpose of that whole ending was that Anakin overcame the darkness inside of him and redeemed himself. Luke could sense the good in him, and was able to bring it to surface, in spite of Vader claiming it was to late for him.

I mean even someone like Gary Ridgway has good inside of him but even if he did a commendable act that doesn’t mean he’s instantly going to turn into a good person. That’s how I feel Anakin was portrayed at the end of ROTJ.

I may well recognize that they may make technically superior films to the OT, and frankly you could already make a case for TFA,

As it pertains to STAR WARS and especially Return of The Jedi. Sure, but ESB is nearly flawless.

Edit:

For me? No. No matter how good future Star Wars films are, they’ll all share the fatal flaw of not making an impression on me as a child. The originals will always have that magical nostalgia value that it’s literally impossible to overcome.

I want to commend you for saying what a lot of fans will not.
