TFA is great and all but it’s no ESB. I dare to say that they’re not even on the same level.
Bad news for anyone thinking of using the deleted scenes for a TFA fan-edit. It’s official that they will all be marked with a damn timecode 😦
They’ve shown some of the Kylo Ren on the Falcon footage prior to this and it had the timecode on it but no one has explicitly said that there will be a timcode when the deleted scenes are actually released.

You mean TFA is underrated because it’s a sequel ? I kind of think it is overrated because it came after the PT. Which does not mean it’s a bad movie (I’m still puzzled about it; if VIII and IX do the job I’ll probably love it as the first part of a whole, maybe as a ninth part).
I think he meant that a sequel would never have the same impact as the first film.
Blu-ray release of The Force Awakens leaked, and the movie appeared in 1080p on torrent sites.

You know the one thing that pisses me off about this film? One thing I would change above all else. Forget the deleted scenes, the frantic pace or the exposition: the trash-compacter gag has to go.
You mean when Han suggested to throw Phasma into the trash compacter? I hope not because even though I thoroughly enjoyed the film there are far more important errors that need to be rectified.

If…that’s how you feel but exactly how is a film that isn’t much complex than surface layer bullshit “pretentious”? I mean it’s a little deeper than Batman vs Joker like in Batman 89 but it’s not even as complex as the OT Star Wars films.

For one, Yoda didn’t know exactly if Han and Leia would perish. Secondly, when in the OT did Yoda ever say that emotions like love lead to the Dark Side?
And to be honest the last classic/history making movie in recent memory was The Dark Knight.
I refute that statement with “Inception”. Biggest Oscar snub since shawshank IMHO

TDK Trilogy will be seen as the dark, gritty and complex superhero films. that got the series going after Spiderman and Spiderman 2 got the ball rolling. And The Dark Knight will still be seen as a nearly flawless film.
TFA on the other hand will most likely be seen by most as the resurrection of Star Wars.
Not much is going to change after it’s release. More than likely we’ll all be rehashing the same arguments again. The real wait is for Episode VIII and that shit is killing me.

Technically we were talking about originality or lack there of in TFA.
Well definitely a step towards originality would be to make the Episode VII take place at least 100 years after the Battle of Endor. No Skywalkers, no Solos and preferably no Empire or remnants (though it makes sense in TFA since it’s only been 30 years). This way a completely new threat can be introduced and it would’t seem out of place. Also instead of a Dark Side Master at the helm we could make the supreme villain a government official that reigns over the Dark Side users and whatever you want to call the new army our heroes would face. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have different clans of Force Wielders with their own philosophies on how The Force should be used and on the galaxy could be ran.
Just a few ideas off the top of the dome.
Makes sense but it’s an out of universe explanation. I guess if I could rationalize it with an in universe explanation I would attribute that to “Always in motion is the future” just as SilverWook said.
