I’m okay with listening to music that’s not geared for people who are in their early 40’s and pretentious teens who want to be in their early 40’s. Also my shit has actual content. Maybe not lyrically but riff, solo and drums wise your dad music can’t really compete.

I put this into Google Translate and tried every possible language but it never came out making sense.

Care to prove me wrong? I can actually give examples of riffs, solos, vocals etc. that I like. Can you do the same?

Lol most of the people in the bands we’ve talked about are at LEAST in their 40’s. Morbid Angel’s first album was 1988, Kreator’s album we’ve discussed was in 1986, Slayer started in 1983.

Well most of them made their music while they were in their teens - mid 20’s before they fell off or stopped making music.

That being said, just because I happen to enjoy thrash and death metal does not mean I don’t also listen to other types of music, and I don’t even consider it one of my favorite types of music. I just enjoy it some, and have commented on Lord Haseo’s posts about it simply because I don’t know anybody else that enjoys them.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is my favorite musician of all time, one of my favorite bands is Led Zeppelin. I enjoy slow blues and classic rock such as LZ, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith and the like.

If I had to pick an absolute favorite musician it would have to be (predictably) John Williams. I’ve heard a lot of different stuff from a lot of different genres but the artistry and consistency is unmatched compared to John William soundtracks. I don’t even have to include anything out of the Star Wars Soundtracks to prove my point as it would be overkill.

Yup, exactly why those two scenes are plot holes in my book. Both took me right out of the movie.

There is no “in my book” when it comes to definitions. You can’t change a definition based on your personal beliefs.

Now let’s look at that claim on the escape from Hoth. How many ships left Hoth without a functioning hyperdrive? 1 - the Millennium Falcon.

Why does that matter when there were multiple Star Destroyers and at least one Super Star Destroyer forming a blockade around the Hoth system? At least in TFA’s case there was one Star Destroyer orbiting Jakku.

And what did Han say later? Something about the Falcon being easy to track. No, the entire sequence is just too convenient and strains credibility.

That’s a fair assessment and that’s why like R2 waking up at the end of the film it’s a giant plot convenience but not a plot hole.

All that would be needed is for Rey to engage the hyperdrive and have it carry them a short distance before it gives out leading to the necessary repairs that she then performed.

A short distance is in any system close to Jakku? If so then yeah that would have been preferable.

And there is no way such a famous ship would not be in the First Order database and no way for it to escape detection (just like Han said). There is no internal consistency in the scene. It is a huge hole in the story.

The ship has been out of circulation for a while so it makes sense as to why it wouldn’t be in the database.

Yes, but it must have cost trillions in whatever passes for currency in the SW universe. Who paid for it? Did Palpatine win the lottery? Whether the real Sifo Diyas was involved or not, Obi Wan or someone should have followed the money trail.

Eh…but do those questions really matter?

Perhaps they are questions the next movie will answer? Then again, I’m still confused on the whole Sifo Diyas buying a clone army thing. 😉

Which happened 10 years prior…right around the time Palpatine became the Chancellor. Also Palpatine is trying to get the Military Creation Act to be approved while Padme is trying to oppose it and conveniently she is having attempts made on her life…I wonder who could be behind it all.

I handle them just fine (joke incoming) I just have no need for them being placed unnecessarily in my movies. Probably because I’m a grown-up.

I’m incredulous to the fact that you think having boobs in a movie is ever necessary.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlotHole

Plot Holes are those gaps in a story where things happen without a logical reason. When a Plot Hole involves something essential to a story’s outcome, it can hurt the believability, for those who are bothered by such things. Hitting a Plot Hole at high speed can damage your Willing Suspension of Disbelief.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plot_hole

In fiction, a plot hole, plothole or plot error is a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that goes against the flow of logic established by the story’s plot. Such inconsistencies include such things as illogical or impossible events, and statements or events that contradict earlier events in the storyline.

So that you actually know what a plot hole is.

yotsuya said:
So, the Falcon leaves Jakku… How does Han happen to be right there?

That’s a plot convenience not a plot hole.

Where is the First Order. They were in orbit of Jakku and not having patrols out to detect an escaping ship is incredibly stupid, especially when Kylo Ren is so keen to capture them.

I don’t think incompetence can be considered a plot hole. If it is then The Empire not destroying the escape pod in STAR WARS is a massive plot hole as well.

Then there is Starkiller Base firing on the Republic. Nothing about it is explained in the movie. We know there is a Republic, but how big is it?

Not a plot hole

They have a fleet, so was the entire fleet in one place?

Still not a plothole, but Hux’s speech seems to indicate that the fleet is primarily located in the Hosnian system

They destroyed a system and just how did the people on Takodana see it?

I don’t know but it’s stupid that they did see it but again…it’s not a plot hole

How is the republic destroyed by destroying one star system? The Old Republic spanned thousands of system so is this a little upstart or will the Republic regroup?

Because it’s the seat of the Republic and at least the majority of the fleet is there. And most likely it isn’t completely destroyed but is fractured. We won’t know definitively until Episode VIII comes out.

How is the fleet destroyed?

What type of stupid ass question is this? Did you even watch the movie. Along with the planets you see ships being destroyed too.

TFA has two huge ones that cannot be fixed unless you edit the film.

I must be extremely stupid, what huge plot holes are there in TFA that are inconsolable?

Don’t even waste your time. Every time I have asked someone this they have always tried to change the subject or have listed things that aren’t even plot holes. People just say TFA has massive plot holes just to say it.

The Pestilence, Ripping Corpse, Under The Guillotine and Riot of Violence are some of my favorite songs ever.

ALLOL

Oh, so you’ve listened to the songs?

Possessed said:

Ripping corpse and pleasure to kill are the only two Kreator songs in General that I like. But I like them a lot. Strange.

Have you ever to their other albums? They’re kind of inconsistent but songs like Extreme Aggression, Tormentor, Blind Faith, Betrayer, Death Is Your Saviour, Toxic Trace, Agents of Brutality etc. are really good imo

I did use to have a shirt for PTK though, cuz I just couldn’t get over how cool it was.

I’ve always wanted the Endless Pain t-shirt

So fucking cool

Yeah, I totally love how the PT portray Jedi as beings who are devoid of emotion who take children from their families and don’t allow to visit them even if they’re in slavery. I also love how they make it seem that being human in any way means you’re going to turn to the Dark Side. Makes them so relatable. I also love how Palpatine’s relationship with Anakin is primarily based on him telling Anakin how powerful he is. Showing genuine compassion would have been boring. I also love how Palpatine’s plans are so good that even though he’s at the center of all his political machinations he is still too good to be detected. Also the Dark Side clouding everything was a brilliant way to explain why no one suspected him. It’s so nuanced. The love story with meticulously crafted to show what true love is. Putting two attractive people in romantic situations is all you need in a relationship. Chemistry isn’t that important. And adding the forbidden romance angle makes us root for them due to their struggle of them not being able to be together because as we all know it is impossible for a Senator to date someone. In concept it’s quite heart breaking. I also always loved how Yoda had a little lightsaber and flipped around like a video game character. See…THAT is Star Wars at it’s core.

EDIT:

On a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being fantastic…and 10 being awful

You’ve got that backwards.

Not to mention putting the PT above TFA for the writing (what?).

Spirited Away - 8.1/10

The only good thing that came out of this entire ridiculous Anime “discussion” is that it has prompted me to seeing a film I haven’t seen in many years.

Simple but well executed plot, colorful characters, good art style and animation, decent pacing despite there being no real action, and the weirdest character/creature designs I have ever seen in a film. Not to mention that there were some stunning locals in this film. Not really a fan of Anime but damn do I really like this film and damn does it hold up.

How are the hardcore sex scenes? Too much tentacle porn? Or just the right amount?

There are none to speak of friend. I stopped watching Hentai years ago.

You shouldn’t have ever started.

I had a weird childhood…

Yeah, Rebels did a pretty decent job making Maul interesting.

The real question here should be: why the hell is Maul even in Rebels when he was chopped in half in TPM? And TCW is not an excuse here. Just because one series made a stupid thing it doesn’t mean the other has to acknowledge it.

Because Fandom. And since we have an in universe explanation as to why he survived it isn’t a problem.

I wouldn’t say they made him interesting but I will say they gave him a damn good motive for his actions in Rebels.
