How do long distance communication work in the star wars universe?

Well, I think it’s even more funnier that Krennic traveled to another planet for who knows how many hours to have a one minute discussion with Vader, ha.

Vader doesn’t have a phone in his retreat.

I just meant that there must’ve been an easier way to deliver a one sentence message, even for Vader who has to suit up for this “meeting”. I don’t mind it, I like the scene, I just find it a little funny if you think about it but I try not to.

The theatrical colors of the Star Wars trilogy

That’s it. For example, here’s Tarkin in the conference room:

Edit: Just to make it clear, I’m not saying it should look exactly like this since I don’t think any of the scans have been color corrected at all. But it gives you good idea as the colors for SW are still great compared to TESB and ROTJ scans.

The text of the books has never been changed, it’s just one of those things that some fans believe ought to happen, so it comes up every so often, or they ask Hidalgo about it. “New novelizations to better fit the blah blah continuity blah blah consistent with blah”

It would be funny if they added text like “Luke stopped his land speeder and then a huge dinosaur-like creature appeared and moved slowly past him”.

The concept must at least exist, as Luke mentions it.

Is there anything I might do to help?

Luke glances at the battered robot. A bit of his anger drains
and a tiny smile creeps across his face.

                                 LUKE
Well, not unless you can alter time,
speed up the harvest, or teleport me
                     off this rock!*

I’m pretty sure everyone here on Earth has wished at some point that time could be altered or they could be teleported somewhere else.

I’d be much more excited for a Lando spin-off than I am for the Han one.
Lando seems to have a much more interesting backstory. Going from a rogue like Han to a successful business man and a respected leader before we ever meet him.

Me too. I really dislike the idea of young Han movie. Even if they somehow manage it to work and not be like any other “young this” prequels, it still isn’t something that we would ever need. Lando’s story seems much more interesting and it would be fun to have some kind of womanazing stories in SW universe in some casino-type locations etc. And depending how young he would be, it could end where he would get Cloud City and be like “WTF did I just do…”.

I remember finding it interesting that Fox had the copyright in the end credits and not Lucasfilm. Did Fox pay for its production and simply make it with George’s blessing?

Most if not all until 78/79 were copyrighted to Fox. This includes all merchandise, toys etc. LFL got the license probably in 1979. Sorry, I can’t explain it better so my wordings may not be accurate but anyways.

Are the Prequels Even Worth Watching Once?

Lol, the PT only ruins the OT if you let them.

Exactly. Unfortunately non-fans/random people can easily make that choice which tarnished the reputation of SW for years. Most people here probably don’t think so because we’re still here on a fan site.

For example I know a girl who had seen one SW film years ago and because of that she wasn’t interested to see the rest at all and thought they were garbage. I figured it must’ve been one of the prequels and tried to persuade her to watch the OT as she was a big fan of LOTR and I knew she would like it. Then she was shown (I guess all of) the films and she became a big fan because of the OT and said it was probably TPM which she had seen at some point before. I knew it.

I’m going out and trying to find the unaltered copies of the original trilogy so we can watch it while celebrating our birthdays in March (I was born 3/26/98, he was born 3/29/06).

I suppose I can try and find the download link to Star Wars IV Revisited, But I need to find a legitimate download.

Please show him the original, that is Silver Screen Edition 1.6, not revisited. I hope darthrush will invite you to the right place to get it.

I haven’t watched them in 10 years and it brings back the enjoyment to the OT when you can just forget that they exist. Unfortunately I do own them because I bought the BDs for the extras, but I’ve sold almost everything else that relates to them.

I’d be too curious to see them at least once being a SW fan but after seeing them I wish I hadn’t. But even more I wish the PT hadn’t been made. I can ignore them but they ruined the OT and if I ever say that I like SW to people, I have to say “not the prequels” and “only the versions that aren’t available” which is tiring. It’s just sad that for most people the OT is now the DVD/BD editions with Hayden etc. Ugh.
