Kind of a silly lawsuit, but imagine if somebody sued over the SE’s being passed off as the originals? 😉

😃 Good luck the the person who ordered the 007 boxset with ‘all’ the James Bond films in - companies should be more careful with the words described to sell their product to the public.

They do actually have the list of films in the box that are included… The whole lawsuit is completely just being stupid.

Yet, it clearly states that:-

'Product Description

Collectible box set featuring all 22 James Bond films on Blu-ray disc in one complete offering for the first time.

Collection includes all 22 James Bond feature films from Dr. No to Quantum of Solace and more than 130 hours of bonus features including never-before-seen content from the Bond archives, and more.’

So ‘all’ means not ‘all’ - because there is a long list of films and bonus content afterwards? - which after seeing ‘all’ you probably wouldn’t read through that list as you’re already safe in the knowledge that you’re going to receive all the James Bond films in this boxset…

I think the lawsuit is quite petty - though if it results in companies have to be more accurate and careful in the way they word/sell their products then the better it is for us, the consumer…

That post is being as stupid as the person suing and nothing else. 22 isn’t 24. I cannot believe anyone is using any time for this, including the person suing.

A much bigger problem is the case for SW as nowhere is it being labeled as being the SE nor have the end credits been updated since 1997.

Just figured I check if this is just me. I find Return of the Jedi to be the least visually appealing SW movie. Tatooine should seem bleaker, Jabba’s Palace darker and more hazy. For being in a forest, Endor just FEELS fake - almost no non - Ewok activity, wind, rain et. Was thinking this would look better with greens boosted and temperature made warmer. Dagobah could be a little bleaker with more fog.

This is true but that’s pretty much every 80’s movie…

Nice looking comics! 😃

I’m a big fan of the Goodwin/Infantino collaboration in the late 70’s, and the Marvel covers in-general back then were simply amazing. Some people find them a little cheesy but I think they’re perfect for how SW was when it still had that pulpy Flash Gordon feel to it.

I’ve already collected all the Norwegian translations of the Goodwin/Infantino comics so starting this summer I’ve branched out to collecting the original American ones.

Yeah, I also enjoy G/I comics, they’re the best. What is the going rate for the old Marvel SW in the US? I know the first one has some value at least.

Should Vader and The Emperor even know who Yoda is?

I always assumed that Yoda knew Anakin because of his dialog in TESB. In TESB we learn the following, Yoda was a Jedi Master. He trained Obi-wan. He knew that Luke’s father was a powerful Jedi. He saw much anger in Luke, like his father (and then Obi-wan commented that he hadn’t been so different). In ROTJ, Yoda says there is another Skywalker (pending any new info in VIII or IX, that has been assumed to be Leia). So Yoda shows great familiarity with who Anakin was and is. It has never seemed far fetched that Anakin would have known him. His absence from any of Vader’s dialog has always indcated to me that he thought Yoda was dead - only Kenobi had been left to train Luke. The explaination I’ve always accepted, that I think was used in the EU, was that Yoda chose Dagobah because of the dark side cave (a place of evil it is) that could mask his presence. Someone posted above that Frank Oz always thought the character was more refined and on Dagobah in exile. Not only does that jive with the PT, but with what I had assumed prior to TPM.

Good post and I agree. And if Yoda knew Anakin he probably knew about the Emperor and his powers through Anakin. But I never got the impression that they had actually fought or even met.

I didn’t find a better topic already so I’ll post here.

I asked our national film institute about SW prints if they have any and I actually got pretty good info. They have two copies from SW that date before the 90s and at least one of them doesn’t have “ANH” in the beginning and colors are supposedly great, so they’re assuming it’s in Technicolor. They don’t have TESB at all but they do have four prints of ROTJ. Naturally they all are probably subtitled. Anyways, thought I shared this info with you. Would be interesting to hear from other countries do they still have copies.

Well that’s good news that they have two copies from before the 90’s of Star Wars. Did they specify which prints ROTJ was? But it’s unfortunate that they don’t have a copy of ESB.
Anyways thanks for checking in on that.

I’m assuming ROTJ ones were original, too, as we were talking only about the originals (well, at least I was, and they probably figured that out).

Nice find! I saw a film can that once held raw footage from The Shining fetch almost $1500 in an online auction last year.

Woah! Luckily this didn’t cost anywhere near that but then again, this held the print itself and not any production material. I have no clue what the value for this would actually even be but to me it’s priceless.
