How did you originally find this site?
Time

I’m pretty sure I saw someone advertise the petition to get the originals released before anyone knew GOUT was happening. I downloaded some LD rips someone here had made. 2 months after GOUT I registered as I enjoyed the huge amount of technical knowledge this place had and all kinds of archival rarities that were featured, BTS stuff etc. Back then this place was a SW treasure trove.

The original Marvel Star Wars series
Time

I’ve said it before but I really enjoy those Al Williamson Marvel comics.

Thanks for reminding me of the Shira Brie stories, those were really good. Too bad Lumiya wasn’t in there much in the end and the drawing style had went ugly at that point. I remember them spoiling the reveal in the comic’s comment section where some kid was like “I think Lumiya is Shira Brie…” and the translator was like “hmm, yeah, maybe!”.

Arguably, the Han Solo movie will have bigger name recognition with causal and non fans than Rogue One did. Everybody knows Han and Chewie.

But also Harrison Ford is Han Solo to everyone, so I’m not sure how much the public is interested to see a young Solo movie. Even I couldn’t care less about the film but will see it because Star Wars. Hopefully it would be so good that I can see pass the new faces.

He’s also Indiana Jones, but four other actors have played younger or older versions of Indy.

And no-one cared about them.

There are no photos with Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing together?

Probably not, at least on set because they didn’t have any scenes together. I remember Mark saying somewhere that he said to Carrie that he was jealous of her to get to work with Cushing but then Carrie said that Mark got to be even more with Guinness so he shouldn’t be complaining.

I know Mark met Cushing since I’ve seen photos of that but haven’t seen Carrie with Guinness so had to google it and found some I’ve not seen before:

Info: The general 'How-To' questions and reference request thread...
Time

I got a problem with streaming videos on web browsers today. Instead of being centered and having black bars on top and at the bottom, the 2.35:1 video stays on the bottom of the screen and all the black space is on top of it. Restart worked this morning but not anymore. It’s the same on Edge and IE. Firefox doesn’t always play the videos so I can’t always use it. Anyone know what might cause this and how to resolve it?

Don’t forget Kenner brought back the toys in 1995, a full two years before the SE’s. Sure, Luke and the gang looked like they’d been hanging out on Eternia, but damn it was good to see Star Wars toys on the shelves again!
We also had the stuffed to the gills soundtrack anthology, and the (not so) Definitive Collection Laserdisc box set in 1993. I don’t think there ever was a time that the OT was out of print on home video in the 80’s or 90’s.

I’d say 91-95 was a fun, ‘pure’ time for those reasons - Zahn, new Kenner Eternia figures, soundtrack CDs, VHS sets…

Don’t forget the birth of LucasArts games, 90s was its prime.

Wasn’t that just a name change for Lucasfilm Games, founded in 1982? 😉

If you didn’t know they changed the name in 1990 and they made their first SW game in the 90s, hence the birth of LucasArts’ SW games at that point…

Thought this was a neat list.

I can only say for sure I saw The Deep and The Rescuers that summer.

The Car is a cool movie. Worth watching.

Yeah, I’d be interested to see that. Also I have The Deep poster which is cool, so it has me intrigued. Had The Car poster too, actually, but not anymore.
