The Last Jedi Digital/Blu-Ray Release: NOT Theatrical Cut?

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the end credits music in the film was different from the one on the soundtrack. For some reason, there has been this long-standing thing about changing the end credits in every single Star Wars film, with the exception of A New Hope (the end credits on both the film and the soundtrack are the same; unless you count the Special Edition’s film end credits, which wound up having sections repeated because of the added credits). Boggles the mind. Oh well, that just creates for us a sort of bonus track, doesn’t it?

I don’t remember the PT soundtracks other than ROTS, which had longer version on the soundtrack, but I’m pretty sure TESB and ROTJ have the same music on the soundtracks that are in the films?

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

Having seen The Last Jedi for the second time after not being sure if I liked it or not for the first time, I hate to say that I do not like this film. Seeing it again just showed its problems more and while I really wanted to like these, I have to say the ST isn’t for me, just like the prequels. While it has its moments that actually are pretty good, there are stuff that are cringeworthy, even PT level. Meh. Of course I’ll go see Episode IX but I couldn’t care less what happens, they could all just die and it wouldn’t matter one bit.

I’m a huge fan of R1’s score and think it is on par with the Williams’ ones. In fact it’s better than AotC, but imo worse than the rest. haven’t listened to TLJ enough to have an opinion on that compared to the rest but yeah, Giacchino is pretty awesome.

and I’m glad Mr. Williams decided to go out like that, and not by natural causes, as the latter would’ve been pretty tragic. this way he goes out with style, having scored the (entire?) episodic saga.

If the saga didn’t end with III, it’s going to last until the end of time 😉

You know, I would’ve thought the same, but with how much they seem to be expanding the non-episodic side of things (standalone anthology films, Rian’s film trilogy, Benioff & Weiss’ film series, Filoni’s various animated series, and now Jon Favreau’s live action TV series), they’ve got plenty of content and room to expand to either ditch episodes beyond IX entirely, or sit on it for at least a decade before they do X-XII or beyond.

Cue in Daisy after 40 years. 😃

‘Mark Hamill gives advice to young girl afraid to wear ‘Star Wars’ shirt to school’…

Would have been cool for a girl to wear a Star Wars shirt 30 years ago and don’t know why that would have changed. Good on Hamill.

I remember 20 years ago it wasn’t cool even for boys.

Thanks guys i picked it up for $15 so i got myself a bargin 😃

Well, if it wasn’t from the 80s you would’ve paid too much. But considering there wasn’t a similar VHS to be found from googling, I think you made a good buy. VideoCollector has the rental version which I think is the first AUS release. Not sure what yours is, as most 80s videos were for rental in most countries at least… There probably is a year on the back somewhere. Maybe there is an aussie to help you out.

Mark Hamill gets his star on Walk of Fame: http://variety.com/2018/film/news/mark-hamill-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star-1202705447/

At the same time it’s great that he’s been granted it as I really think he’s a great actor and probably even a better in person but it’s just unfortunate that he doesn’t have much more to back him up than SW films.

Sad to see that Ben Burtt is missing but it’s a very nice look at the sound department anyway.

Indeed. All of the new movies clearly are missing out on the sound department. Even in R1, all blaster sounds sound so weird. And they even mixed Vader’s saber sounds to Luke’s in TFA. The familiarity is mostly gone in sound. Ugh.
