But you do realize how fuitle it would be for a First-world nation to attempt to be Isolationist this far along in the game?

Maybe not, then it makes it hard for me to defend this position.

Ill agree with you that America seemed to be doing pretty well on its own before WWI - but that almost supports me, we couldnt stay isolated. Even more so in WWII - for more compelling reasons if you ask me - but nonetheless, we couldnt just stand by and watch, and not expect anything to ever happen to us.

I find this one to be very amusing, good posts guys. Im trying to think of some more neat ones. I thought id take a step back for Jabba, when he is responding to Luke (before he drops him in the Rancor pit) "There will be no bargain, I like captain solo where he is." Or something to that effect, then he gets a most grusome end.

I read this statement a while ago and what really irks me about it is their reliance on meaningless sales figures to justify the changes. So what if they made over $100,000,000 on the first day? That's hardly a record breaking volume of units when you consider that this was a four disc boxed set that retails at a higher price than most one or two disc releases. Add to this the fact that they never advertised the re-working of the films, ensuring that the majority of people buying the set would have no idea that they were getting another version of the movies. As much as most of us would like to think otherwise, the overwhelming majority of people just simply don't use the Internet to research or purchase their consumer goods.

It's sad that all they see to focus on is how much money it generated, not how well received it was by the fans. It's a good job they didn't, as I for one found this to be the biggest DVD disappointment of the year. If it had been any other release it would have been slated because of the technical faults, but because it's Star Wars people let it off the hook. Too many reviewers looking at the films through rose-tinted specs.

Agreed. Its as if the anticipation for Star Wars on DVD outweighed the desire for a quality release. Bummer for all.

I think the dynamic is pretty different when you look at NFL turnout vs MLB turnout. Im sure a lot of it has to do with the duration of the season.
Ive never been to a Florida MLB game, the closest team is in Tampa. Ive been to a Brave's game, which since they were doing well at the time might not be a very good reference, and it was packed.
That seems to be in support of your thoughts, and I agree. Ive been to a few NFL games outside of Jacksonville, and they are pretty much always full. Albeit the games ive been to have been Steelers games...more notorious fans.

Bear in mind that tonight is a lunar eclipse. A very rare event indeed. So, pair that with a Red Sox win and you've got a helluva memorable evening.

GO SOX!

Not that its particularly important Bossk, but lunar eclipses are not all that rare. The link you used refers to another total eclipse that occured only a year ago, and if I remember correctly from Astronomy there is a lunar eclipse (at least partial) every 2 years.
Im not trying to be a jerk or anything, just saying. BTW, I think it would deflate them, but I dont think they would lose. I think they would be pretty down and might lose game 5, which would send it back to Fenway, where there is no chance they would lose now.

Obviously he was manipulated into that situation Reg. Shame on you and the liberal media for trying to make it seem like he was lying or misleading anyone. *tongue in cheek*

In all seriousness, they showed that clip after the debate. Part of a segment about "truth of claims" or somesuch. I was very glad to see it, and I just hope that enough people were still watching to see it.

Sorry this reply contains no media, just drivel. Thanks.

I do have a full-length unaltered master. Maybe I'll make an XVID that someone could host on MySpleen until the corrections are made?

Thats a bummer man. Thats a lot of work lost.
As far as MySpleen, is that a torrent? Forgive my ignorance. Im sure lots on the forum would appreciate that. Im just curious for the sake of the project. I think the effort you are putting into it points to a great result. So I suppose im interested, simply for the sake of seeing the preservation.

Nothing against you Rebel Rouser, I can see you are just trying to keep the peace. I think the point that MeBeJedi was trying to make was that they had already come to a close in that argument.
Regardless of how it started, im glad that it only took you guys about 8 posts to get it out of your systems (and im not pointing fingers or calling names or anything!).

We are all opinionated. And right now the OT is a sore subject so people get pretty worked up.
