I finished watching all the DVD features last night.  I still have to go thru all the of the DVD-ROM contents, but I think See No Evil has captured more things from the internet than myself (and I'm no slouch).

The Herald Videogram LD transfer looks great.  I am glad that you've released this as my Japanese contact never got back to me on getting a transfer to me.

The Book of the Dead differences and trailer are also nice.

I'll hold off my comments for Within the Woods for the time being.

Took a little while to locate the DVD cover as it's mixed in with the rest of the DVD-ROM contents.

Overall, even not including the DVD-ROM contents, I think it's a great release and the DVD menu is very professional looking.

So what is the official titles of these ED supplement discs as it's time for me to starting labeling them?  I see both ' The Evil Dead Treasures Collection' and 'The Evil Dead II DVD Companion' being used.  Thanks.

EXORCIST II - THE HERETIC- THE DIRECTOR'S RECUT (Released)
Time

Heh, this is interesting to me.  I probably watched this VHS when I was a kid, so I don't remember much from it besides some locust scenes.  Heard that the film just falls apart despite whatever version.  I'll have to rent the 118 minutes DVD and see what I have been missing.

On a related note, I was reading that the original Exorcist III unreleased director's cut might have been lost forever.  :(

(New HD Version in the works) Sharkey's "Lord of the Rings" Purist Editions (Released)
Time

I finished the 3rd movie last weekend.  I think the film is much more improved and will be watching this set over my originals.  Very nice!

I didn't mention it earlier, but for some reason many of the Rohan extras in The Two Towers bugged me.  I think it's bz their acting is poor.   My reaction was similar to when Arnold Schwarznegger grieved for his dead girl in beginning of the End of Days -- I had no emotion emotion attachment to his lost daughter from his acting and lack of the girl's character development.

Are you planning on filtering the Book Cuts for TT and ROTK like what Lord Phillock did to better match how FOTR looked?

I'm surprised that no one has commented on these yet.  I watched FOTR tonight and I thought the cuts were seamlessly.  Only one cut that wasn't as smooth, but it might be from the extended edition and not from the fan edit.

I'll soon watch TTT.  I noticed that ROTK is now available as well.

Good job on the work.  I liked Peter Jackson's FOTR, but didn't like TTT and ROTK as much as they were cheesier and more action orientated.

Info & For Use: Ace Ventura Pet Detective - tv footage

Usenet newsgroup selection depends on the news servers and what they subscribe to. Torrents are pretty easy. You usually have a folder of the contents that you want to torrent. Use a program such as MakeTorrent to generate the *.torrent hash for the files, and then you upload the generated file to a tracker. Whoever on the tracker download the parts of the files and then it finishes after a while.

What is usually slow is that the seeder tends to upload to a particular user that's close to him in the p2p network, but the user doesn't necessarily reciprocate the same download speed for their upload speed. This can be solved by going into the super seeder mode, where the seeder forces the recipients to upload as much as possible, thus spreading the uploading task from one user to many.

I don't remember if this was on any of the featurettes, but I remember a few years ago when someone was auctioning off a remake of a B&W ED2 poster that was made to promote the financing of the film in Variety magazine. The subtitle states "Evil Dead and the Army of Darkness" and the auctioneer mentions that Raimi was planning to make ED2 set in the past like AOD became. Anyway, I have a small image of that poster, that probably is too low res. for the DVD, but I can send you if you like.

Phineasbg/ HIGHLANDER II: Extended Versions (Released)
Time
I was able to grab the Early Euro and Special Zeist versions fairly easy, but Extended Zeist took me over a month to get. (Thanks goes to the seeder!)

I was quite surprised at the Extended Zeist dialog differences. I think some of the music cues were different as well, but maybe I'm thrown off as I watched part of the film on a different system.

Anyway, a terrific job guys! BTW, what's the difference between Special Zeist v1 and v2?
