Why?

probably cause it makes no sense? and makes the character look weaker than he already is. I know people say its cause of Mace Windu force crushing his trachea or something, but honestly I saw Clone Wars and didnt even pick up on that till someone said it (and still only vaguely remember the scene). So what do the people think that have never seen Clone Wars? I was expecting it to go somewhere, like some sort of weakness of his would be exposed/realized by it leading to his defeat...but nothing came of it.

In my opinion, if you saw Chapter 25, it would be kind of hard to miss, since Grievous was fine since Chapter 20, and as soon as Mace hits him he falls and starts coughing...

Whether or not you know the plot reason, I think it should be kept in. After all, if Grievous is a foreshadow of Vader, than he coughing should be kept in since it's a foreshadow of Vader's breathing.

It was shown in the Clone Wars. before Anakin went away for the first time, Padme gave him R2, apparently as a gift for being knighted. He saw her again between that moment and Ep III also, after he got the scar on his eye.

Thanks for clearing that up. I honestly didn't remember that in The Clone Wars. I last remembered Padme with both droids on the snowy planet (that wasn't Hoth).

The planet was Illum, I think. The R2 exchange happens at the end of Chapter 21, I think, whereas Padme and the droids on the snowy planet happens within the first 20 episodes.

Yeah, Kev, it is pretty good. I just wish that didn't use that filter on the front.

What filter? and welcome to the boards.

It's easier to see if you download it. It's all filtered so it looks like an oil painting. You can notice it if you look closely at the preview picture there.

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
I'm trying to design my own covers, and any help would be much appreciated.
What I'm looking for is a high-resolution picture of either:
1. A split screen bit with Hayden's head on the left and Vader's helmet on the right.
or
2. A full body split screen with Hayden on the left and Vader on the right.

If anyone knows of any such thing (I'm currently trying to create my own), and could link me to it, I'd be very appreciative.

DVD Covers (Eps. I,II,III, V & VI)
Time
I suppose I should post this here, since everyone else is, although I'd hate to kind of hijack wannabegeorge's thread, but here are a few nice DVD covers for the official SE box set (NOT Mine):
Linky

EDIT:
Alrighty, I whipped up some 3D views of wannabegeorge's fantastic covers:
Episode I
Episode II
Episode III
Episode V
Episode VI

And, a view of them all lined up:

Excellent covers again wannabegeorge!
But now that I see them all in a row, I can't help but feel that it would be nice if the positioning of the episode titles on the front was consistent between the PT and the OT, but that's just my opinion.

Oh my...

That is wonderful.

Really... I love all of you. This just upped the amount I was planning on donating.

^^

You know... It'd be really nice to add the official DVD's frame to the bottom of that test shot, so we can compare to that.

By the way, there's a problem with the links on the left side of the page on most pages. They're trying to link to article.php, instead of the correct articles.php.

Just wondering programs you guys use to make the DVD case covers? I use the Avery DVD Labeling kit to make my disc covers, but it doesn't have the case cover ability (at least that I think). I've never made them, but after seeing some of the nice covers here I've been thinking of taking a stab at it. What have you guys found to have the best outcome?

Neato
They even give you free software to format it correctly for your printer.

I wanted to return to the idea of Magnoliafan making the whole Vader thing a surprise (though I'm not sure how, given how Episode III is all about Obi-Wan's apprentice losing it). I was thinking that one way to retain the Vader awakes-Frankenstein thing would be to have it play during Ben's "more machine now than man" speech in RotJ, when he finally reveals the truth to Luke.

I also wanted to add that I'm very excited by all of Magnoliafan's releases, although I'm only halfway through watching Balance right now.

Steve

Just end Anakin's character with his hand pulling him up the gravel and the ship flying over. Remove all references to 'Lord Vader' made by Palpatine, and just dub his 'Skywalker' over all of it. Thus, you think Anakin is dead and Vader just appears. It also adds intrigue to Obi-Wan's character, because he says that Vader killed his father, when actually he did.

I've been thinking about this... And I really like the idea. However, if someone went with this route, in my opinion at least, it would be FAR better for them to use Hayden at the end of RotJ.

-----

Also, as far as Grievous goes, I like the idea of trying to use Maul's eyes on the zooming in on the eyes scene. It would also be nice if we could mix in some dialogue about him "not losing this time" or something.

For instance...

*Obi-Wan Jumps Down, Magna Guards Turn*
Grievous: General Kenobi! Always jumping in to things, aren't you? Kill him.
*Magna Guards = Owned*
Grievous: Back away! I have a score to settle with this Jedi.
Obi-Wan: Your move.
Grievous: *Unbuttoning cloak* Maybe if you weren't so foolish as to not realize who I am...
*Shakes off cloak*
*Pulling out lightsabers*
Grievous: You wouldn't charge into something like this.
*Ignites sabers and pulls them back*
Grievous: Come. It is time to join your master.

Then later, when the Clonetroopers arrive...
Grievous: Now, Kenobi. Perhaps I should carve you in half, so you know what I experienced.
Obi-Wan: (This can be redubbed, since you don't see his mouth) You're... The Sith?

Okay... That whole bit was really bad and tacky, but you get the idea...

Just once...

Oh, wait, you said from scratch.

Nope, no I haven't.

Heh, I didn't mean to sound forceful or anything, I was just curious since I didn't really know your process. Sorry about that.

You know...
If no one made a profit from it, we could try to make a little limited run box set deal. We could order some aluminum cases from Paul Champagne (he's a pretty good guy, he'd probably cut us a deal since we won't be making any money from it), have someone design some DVD covers, print on some printable DVD-Rs, and bam! There you go, the only OOT set you'll ever need. I could easily see these being put together for a total cost of no more than about $35...
