Episode I specific plans:

The crawl will be edited so it will say how there was peace in the galaxy until the Seperatists and the Federation joined forces. I will say that they need Naboo for a base. However the Jedi have been dispatched the sneek onto the planet and rescue the Queen from signing the treaty.

So the opening battle is cut. The jedi enter the battleship and sneek onto a landing craft. Then we cue the invasion montage.

Now Jar Jar will be in this film and will play a small role. He is a runaway since the rest of the Gungans have decided to fight off the drioid army early. He gets rescued by the jedi and his new purpose is the serve them. However we see that the Gungans actually lose the battle, leaving Jar Jar with a lot of guilt for not fighting with them. This will lead to him later on in the film giving Palpatine the power to make a Clone army. Therefore his motives for doing it arent because he was smooth talked, it was because his whole race was was taken out.

All the underwater stuff will be cut.

Padme is generally the Queen’s handmaiden. I hate how she was secretly the Queen for 1 movie. It adds nothing. I would sympathise more if she was this young girl who serves a much older Queen.

Anakin in my saga will change. He is not the chosen one, he’s the complete opposite. The movie kinda gives off to me that the jedi don’t really trust Qui Gon. So for him to come to the order with a boy and say that he’s this vergance, no one will believe him. Anakin of course will be less cocky from the get-go and will build his confidence.

Darth Sidious will be cut since I plan to make his first appearance at the end of Episode II as a reveal that Palpatine is Sidious.

Jabba is cut since he’s portrayed as a good guy and it shrinks the planet down.

Coruscant will be changed around. Palpatine is already Chancellor so we have no “vote of no confidence” scene or the Queen talking to Palpatine scene. We have Jar Jar as a witness to the invasion pleeing to give Palpatine powers. Then Palpatine declares an army will be ordered (just in time for Episode II). The scene where Anakin is denied because he’s too old is cut also.

The end battle how is more focused without the Gungan battle. Anakin also purposely flies the ship into battle making him more of a underdog then a fool.

However at the end. Due to his reckless nature, he doesn’t become Obi Wans apprenrintice. Both jedi go there separate ways. Anakin asks “what’s gonna happen to me now” and Obi Wan doesn’t reply.

Hopefully this will all work out since these ideas personally could make this film much better then it was 😃

Your ideas seem quite radical, so I am interested in how are you planning to achieve them. Will you be creating new footage? I have found out that if I were to edit out all the stuff in the PT that bothers me, all the films would probably be under 15 minutes long.

Unfortunately I won’t be adding new footage to them; I just need to use some clever editing to get what I want. But luckily there still will be enough content to make 3 movies. AOTC will probably be the shortest due to all that’s being left out but I won’t let it drop under the 80 minute mark.

The Prequel Trilogy Remixed

Just recently I have decided I will be working on the Prequel Trilogy as separate movies again. I want to keep the huge scope of the Star Wars saga and the stories each movie provided. However I still want to change the movies enough for them to be good. This edits will radically change the movies yet loosly stick to the canon of the PT so they won’t clash with further installments

Intentions:

Firstly, the pacing will be quicker and any huge political undertones will be trimmed down. I aim for each movie to be roughly 80-100 minutes long.

I also want these movies to have secrecy. I plan to make the Darth Vader reveal a secret so you can watch the movies I’m chronological order. I’ll do this removing Anakins link with Vader all together. I will so have to remove Anakins link to Obi Wan as master and apprentice. This is so we assume Vader was Obi Wans apprentice who turned evil in between III and IV.

I intend to keep the films fairly humurous as well as dark, all I’m the right places. But in general any cheesy moments will be edited.

Some key elements changed in this film also. Like Grievous not weildimg a lightsaber, Anakins being reintroduced as Padme’s protector after Episode I and Order 66 not occurring until after Episode III, leaving the entire Trilogy on a cliff hanger.

I will go further into the changes of each movie. But for now I hope the ideas I’ve given will make good edits to watch.

I think it would tie the trilogy together better aswell. For example, it was also remove the whole clone investigation on Kamino. I think how this would be done is to represent the Federation as the Separatists straight from the beginning so when Palpy says he will “eliminate the remaining threat of the Separatists” (or whatever) it will make more sense.

Another idea would be to make Jar Jar one of the Naboo representatives in TPM. This way we can see Palpatine purposely invade his planet in hopes he will give him power. This can be done by showing the Gungan battle at the beginning of the film, but edited so the Gungans lose the bout. This would give Jar Jar more of an arc and erase his antics from the film altogether.

 lol happens all the time (unfortunately)... I think the intro to Anakin/Padme in the beginning of ROTS does a good job of putting the pieces together... 1) they are in love 2)she is pregnant 3)anakin is a bit conflicted... i think this scene along with the right scroll, will really fill in the blanks. We don't need to see as much lovey dovey stuff as you may think.

 Yeah, thinking about it, the introduction Padme in ROTS is actually a good blank-filler. I think a good scroll and also LuckyGungan's flashback idea may be enough "proof" to the audience.

Here is how I would order the romance flashback:

-Anakin and Padme arrive at Naboo (why they do doesn't need to be explained, the audience can fill in the blanks), but cut their convo about politics, and the meeting with the queen.

-They go to Padme's parents house, but not in Padme's room (that scene is cheesy).

-They have dinner (the floating pear scene).

-They walk to the lake pier, cutting "I don't like sand," and "I love the water."

-They kiss, but don't pull away, which fades into the next day.

-After their convo about Anakin's mother, we cut back to the present day.

And later on (I'd put it after Mace leaves to confront Palpatine, but before Padme's ruminitions) we cut to Anakin and Padme landing on Tatooine. I would order it as such:

-Establishing shot of Tatooine, but cut Watto scene.

-Cut scene where they meet 3PO and he introduces them to the Lars's (which implies that they already know each other).

-Cut Yoda sensing Anakin's pain.

-Cut establishing shot of the funeral (to be used later).

-Cut Clieg's speech.

-Perhaps reverse shot of Anakin walking to his mother's grave and insert it after he gives his eulogy.

-Cut R2 arriving at the Homestead.

-Insert establishing shot at the end, but reverse it so it pans up into the sky, then cut back to present day.

Wow, that sounds like it could actually work. I feel that the tusken raider killing frenzy should also remain in this edit since it will really highlight Anakin's dark side urges. But I will definitely try your idea, thanks for your support on the edit :)

So I'm confuddled there.

Hello, this project is still alive. I'm still trying to figure out what series of events would make the best movie for a Star Wars fan to watch. I have even tried creating a 3 in 1 edit for the prequels. Yes, I did create a satisfying 18 minute prologue using The Phantom Menace, but I am still unsure on where to go.

A 3-in-1 edit would be overwhelming to the audience

A AOTC & ROTS edit would have very slow pacing

and A ROTS edit would not give you enough information to care about the main characters...

So yeah, I'm still experimenting with the footage. Although, if anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see from the movies, maybe that will be considered :) .

Hi, I really wanted to hold out on announcing this before I actually start weaving the new edit plan together but I can't ignore your question... it would be rude to.

So I have decided that I am going to use more of Attack of the Clones in this edit since Revenge of the Sith doesen't do a great job, on its own, to introduce aspects of the Prequels like:

• The Jedi Council
• Palpatine and why he is d*ck 
• Anakin and Padmes relationship
• The C.I.S
• and why we should care for Samuel L. Jackson, he literally would have like 6 lines in the movie

So i've been spending my days calculting how I can make AOTC into a 30-40 minute prologue to the movie and I have a decent structure which will sow itself into ROTS.

The Jedi Council send Obi Wan, Anakin and Padme to Geonosis to investigate a possibly droid factory being built. First Obi Wan flys in and find the factory with Count Dooku and his crew inside. He then sends a transmission to Panakin who are on the outskirts of the same planet (this will be acheived by colour correcting the scene to make Tatooine look like Geonosis)  and also the Republic in Coruscant. Obi Wan gets captured and Panakin go to rescue him. Palpatine in response orders a clone army. The Fett's wont be in this movie so Panakin never get captured they just burst into the arena to help Obi. The Jedi then arrive to kick arse, this is there first chronological appearance. The clones arrive shortly afterwards. The Anakin and Obi get rekt by Count Dooku then Yoda arrives (this is his first chronological apperance) he fights of Dooku with the FORCE and not his saber unti Dooku retreats. They all fly home. The bridge between AOTC and ROTS will go nicely; we see the Clone army looking awesome then a montage of Anakin and Padme falling in love, hopefully a combination of John Williams and a couple of nice shots will convince the audience. Anakin then has a nightmare of Padme dying or something and Anakin wakes up and we are now 5 years ahead. We then cut to the space battle of Coruscant where we see how everything has changed, Anakin and Obi Wan never board the ship we just go straight back to Coruscant where Anakin and Obi are looking smug.

Major Changes:

. Dooku is now the side-villan, not Grievous (he can now be cut)

. Dooku and the C.I.S aren't alligned with Palpatine, the Empire would be the 3rd side in the war which would wipe everyone out.

. Dooku's death will be moved to order 66 montage so its shows Anakins gradual rise of power to the point where he could single-handily overthrow Dooku

. We only get one AOTC flashback in the ROTS period and thats when Anakin finds his mother.

Hopefully that's a decent update and I hope the AOTC prologue will work out well.

I also love the poster! Do you think youll be able to kind of give us an order of how the film plays out because I'm interested on how you've made this into a 2hr 20 movie. Have you trimmed most of the scenes to a shorter length or have you actually removed major elements? Any if so which ones ;)

 I have a torrent versions of the Blu Rays. Of course I have the Blu Ray copies themselves but I don't have a Blu Ray player to rip them onto my laptop. These versions are about 2GB's a movie and it really effects the quality.

I wish there was. I just need a version of Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones which is good quality and isn't an MKV file. Then I'd be able to start the final edition of my edit.

Still I've got some random ideas and cuts in my head on how I can attmept to preserve the shock of Vader being Luke's father. One of which is making Anakin and Vader have no link and also cut the link between Obi Wan being Anakin's apprentice. I think that may do the trick.

The Fanedit I am working on is The Sith Reborn. A Standalone fan edit of Revenge of the Sith designed to replace the Prequel Trilogy. It also uses some scenes from Attack of the Clones as a flashback. The link to the article is below:

I have almost finished the draft for my edit and I am about the begin on the final version of The Sith Reborn which will obviously require the highest quality of video to work upon.

I would like to ask if any kind person would be able to upload a colour corrected source for me to work upon. I would be extremely grateful and that person would be credited for making this edit possible.

There is a kind of extensive list of things I would require but it would add a sense of professionalism to the cut. If possible I would need:

• A colour corrected version of the ROTS Blu Ray and all the Naboo and Tantooine scenes from the AOTC Blu Ray
• These videos NOT to be in an MKV format
• For the videos to look like they were from the 80’s converted up to Blu-Ray quality (To visually match ROTJ)
• For the CGI to be remotely realistic
• For Mace Windu’s lightsaber to be Blue
• To have C3PO removed from Tantooine in AOTC
• To have the colours seem more vibrant and realistic

I really hope there is someone who could provide this for me. I will also make sure I will make this edit worth the effort you put into the colour correction.

Yeah, the darkness of the regraded AOTC could be quite effective for flashbacks.

Yeah I've decided to just go for the edit instead of worrying about previews. Progress is going well. The AOTC flashback with Anakin's mum plays out without a problem and everything is pacing out fine. I've decided I would like to use the kk650's regraded versions of ROTS and AOTC but there will be further colour corrections which I wouldn't mind help for...
