Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

Chewie is supposed to be around 200 years old in the OT. 30 years since Jedi isn't going to mean a heck of lot with that kind of lifespan. I don't see cats or dogs getting gray as they age.

And didn't we have this same discussion about his appearance in ROTS? ;)

My dog started off completely red in color. 13 years later he's almost completely white.

STAR WARS: REBELS (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread
Time

Just a head's up. If you get DisneyXD through your local television provider you can watch REBELS' premiere right now.

I watched it tonight and it was PHENOMENAL. Best Star Wars anything I've seen in a long time.

Started off a heck of a lot stronger than Clone Wars did and definitely felt more like Star Wars than CW ever did too!

My reservations about Sabine are completely gone. Great character with a great bit of personal flair.

The concerns others have had about the show being too kiddy were completely unfounded. This was real Star Wars through and through.

Loved it!

Nope not completely true. I get both Disney and DisneyXD through my local hometown cable but cant watch it because sadly my hometown cable isn't a participating cable provider.

Should Jacen, Jaina, and Mara be in the newer films?
Time

@Darth Lars

A "real" fan of something is anyone that spends any of their time and/or money on a given thing. Someone that only likes the OT isn't any less of a fan than someone that sucks up everything Star Wars. I enjoy all six films and a large part of the EU, and I consider myself part of the entire Star Was fandom. And you know what? That fandom is a shit load of people that includes everyone from the casual fan to the fanatic. So you can stuff you "real" fan attitude up your "real" fan ass.

You said you watched the entire OT in the morning. In order for that to work, you must logically have started around 5:30 (unless you're a time traveler, like Bingowings).

I got up one Saturday morning and started watching the OT. It would've been around 6 or 7, and would've concluded some time shortly after noon. So I spent that entire Saturday morning watching the OT. No time travel needed.

*sigh* Joke fail on my part.

I see. Failure to get joke on my part.

What would have made the prequels better in your opinion?
Time

To each their own I guess. Yoda using a lightsaber was something I'd been waiting to see since I was a small boy. One of my favorite things about the PT. Midi-chlorians and Jar Jar are the two things I dislike the most. Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship was wrong in my opinion as well. They came across as a dysfunctional father and son instead of best friends. And while having many Jedi in the PT doesn't bother me like it does others, I do wish they'd been portrayed a little differently. More Knightly order and less cloistered religious cult. But all in all I think the PT is a 4 while the OT is a solid 5.

Parents are big Star Wars fans and owned the VHS tapes. I sat down and watched them back to back one Saturday morning when I was five back in the 80's. Saw the PT in theaters.

How did you get your parents to put Star Wars on for you at 5:30 AM (or earlier)?

It wasn't 5:30 in the morning. It would've been more like 7 or 8. Don't know where you got 5:30 from. And I could work the VCR myself.

Who Was Obi Wan Kenobi's Real Master?
Time

Yoda instructed Luke one on one because Luke was the only one. In the PT era there were several Force sensitive children, therefore Yoda instructed several at once. All we get to see in the films is Yoda teaching a lightsaber 101 class. I'm sure he taught others that would've looked more like what he taught Luke. And I'm equally sure other masters taught children before they were assigned a master. I see no problem with this.

I have a terrible feeling that a series of treatments I read a few years ago are going to become a reality...

What treatments did you read a few years ago?

Something with R.O.U.S.es,

Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist!

Westley would disagree with you.
