Thanks!
Thanks!
It would seem to be a little bit more than that Sherlock. Apparently Poe says “nav signals down, but not for long” during the battle. That would need to be removed as well.
EDIT: Did anyone get the “1000 generations live in you now” via with the Superman scene? Who ripped who off first?
Same writer lol. Kinda to be expected that similarities like that would pop up.
The problem with “Tell me” is that you’re just taking a line from one scene and moving it to another. If you move it over, then Leia only says the word “No” in her wayfinder conversation with Rey. That’s just laughably bad imo.
Poppa, could you send me just the “lately” line you adjusted? I feel it sounds great, but I guess I have a different pair of ears than everyone else.
At this point I would be more interested in removing the awkward staring in that wayfinder scene.
Here is the version I would prefer you to watch tomorrow Hal (only includes the line I feel is the most flawless):

I also feel like removing the “for a few minutes” is a good idea. But to be honest I don’t remember how the original dialogue went. I’ll need to rewatch it.
And to be honest Hal, I feel like the only line that could work in an edit like yours is the “there’s been a lot of that lately”. The rest is ever so slightly out of place imo.
EDIT: Yes, I would highly recommend removing “for just minutes”. I didn’t pay enough attention to the scene before. Nice catch Sherlock!
I’m like 99% sure that Carrie was having a hilarious time during the recording session for her lines on that game and it does show through. There are some death sounds in here that are just so funny.
I’m just willing to overlook it and also rationalize it as Leia not understanding that Rey wasn’t in a good mood at first. Thus the tone shift.
Just like Carrie Fisher in TROS!
So why not add more fuel to the fire of uncanny valley if in turn you strangely enough get a more personable portrayal of Leia?
It’s definitely not for everybody, so I suppose it’s best to not be included. I just know that the first thing I’ll do when I get v2 is slide a couple of these lines in there for myself. Guess I should learn some better audio implementation tactics in the meantime.
It’s kinda like the added Knights of Ren lines. Some people like them (me) and others don’t.
Does anyone say “Hello There” at any point during the sequel trilogy? Cause there’s audio of Rey saying it in a game: https://youtu.be/GC7ex3Ekhx4?t=397
If she said that line in TFA people would have used it as proof she was a Kenobi lmao.
To answer your question, no, I don’t think so.
Is the loudness of a line supposed to scale with where the camera is in comparison to the character? Because my thinking was that for the first two lines the camera was further away from her, while the final was much closer to her face.
I think I should just share the lines here again for everyone. I don’t really know what I’m doing with audio so maybe the reason it sounds off is because I’m doing something wrong.
The first lines are also lighter in implementation - they have more treble whereas the lines in the movie have more bass.
I’m definitely no audio professional. I just downloaded Audacity last week lol.
Would it be possible to augment these ones to have more bass? They probably sound off because I simply turned down the DB on the gain volume filter.
Unfortunately it’s not working for me, the tone doesn’t feel right for that scene.
I get what you mean. I think it’s because she was recording the lines for a children’s game. But for me personally, I am willing to overlook that. The lines make her seem more like a real person and less like a Woody doll playing catchphrases every so often.
If Hal doesn’t implement this stuff I know I am. Just makes her character seem so much more lively:
I do have a clip of Leia saying “Alright?”, but the problem is that once again she is speaking in a higher-pitched voice that contrasts her next line. Otherwise it would work as a replacement for “tell me”.
EDIT: NVM just found the golden ticket. There’s a line here of her saying, “There’s been a lot of that lately.” Perfection!
You’re right RL, that’s the original line haha. I cut it into two because the entire thing didn’t fit in the amount of space given.
I tried using “no” but as a result Leia’s line had to be pushed back. Way too squished. And this isn’t the “no” I would like anyways:

And I’m not sure why her voice sounds different. I’d imagine they would have been recorded around the same time as TFA.
I never realised how much of a gold mine of dialogue is in Lego: Star Wars the force awakens, especially since they got the actual cast to record stuff.
Absolutely haha. That reminds me, are they doing a similar thing for the upcoming Skywalker Saga Lego game?
Anyways, I wasn’t able to find a good instance of Rey saying “no” in the files surprisingly. So it would have to be taken from somewhere else unfortunately. I did find one but she sounds frustrated, which is contrasted with her monotone of the next line.
I’m sure there are plenty of examples of Rey saying no. In fact, I might as well look in the game files again lol.
Alright I got two options for Leia lines when Rey is messing with the bags. I put them both in the same video:
So the first one I like because Leia is basically saying that they have finished the training session for the day. And then Rey responds that actually she DIDN’T finish the course. Feels like a natural conversation.
The second one mostly would be there to let the viewer know who Rey is talking to before the camera reveals Leia.
BTW I found a perfect line for when Rey slams her bags down. Will show it when I come back to the computer in an hour or so.
Hmmm good idea.
I can’t go back through the lines again right now to see if this is possible but I’m pretty sure this might be.
When Rey says she’s gonna run the training course, as Leia hands her the saber, Leia could say, “Good”, “Alright”, “Here”. I think a funny line would work nicely here, since Leia gives her a little smirk, but I’m not sure what could fit.
Looks like Hal actually removed Rey’s line about her running the training course. RIP.
Also I can’t seem to find a good source of “on” from the Lego files.
Yeah anything to remove the super awkward silence would help. So if this doesn’t pan out I’d like to see some trimming of the staring.
I’ll look into trying to find her saying “on”.
So here the scene is with “we have to keep…”. I feel like it needs the word “on” in order to work properly. Doesn’t help that her mouth clearly doesn’t move:
Something like what you recommended might work better Sherlock. Something short like “I know”. Anyways, here is the line from the above video if somebody thinks they can do better than me:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VGAsmBEi84jBhycNLbwN4KLoN1iHuMrg/view?usp=sharing
Alright so I have a sample of Leia saying the following: “We have to keep…”
Obviously if she finished her sentence she would say “we have to keep on training”. I think she could say that beginning part and then have Rey cut her off.
As much as people would hate it… The Justice League extended edition with all scenes, Snyder and Whedon, put in. Continuity be crushed
I do feel like there are certainly a some bits from the Whedon version that might be able to put back in. But it would really depend on the person as for what that would include.
I suppose you do wear black to a funeral. Although who knows if that’s the case in the Star Wars galaxy as well.
Personally, if we are actually considering this, I would recommend grey. It would signify a refined stance on the Jedi philosophy, because clearly Luke repeated the mistakes of the past.
