I definitely don’t disagree, it just isn’t extremely important to me is all. If this is something Hal wants to look at before releasing the fixed v2 that would be neat.
However there’s still one remnant of that plot I caught, that is, on the now separated vision of Kylo Ren at the beggining of the film, we see the the Sith throne for a brief moment. I wonder if it might be better to change this, as to me it signals Kylo’s interest in the throne, which we are trying to distance away from, making the thone only relevant to Rey’s struggle. I’m thinking it could just be changed to a shot of Palpatine, who we hear commanding him to kill Rey.
I also had this thought. But you have to remember that this vision is coming directly from Palpatine. It’s not a visual display of what Kylo himself actually desires. And the beginning of the movie makes it clear that Palps “wants” to give him the throne if he does what he asks. Of course, that’s not what would happen, but it’s what he’s enticing Kylo with.
It’s more of a scenario in which Palps thinks Kylo wants one thing when in reality he wants something else. That is admittedly a bit complicated so your idea has its merits.

Quick question: Are the files on drive the most updated version which fixed the minor issues (Poe saying “up” twice, video errors)? Or is that still a work in progress?
It is a nice idea, especially since we see the Son on Mortis use the same kind of lighting. The only problem really is how hard it would be to execute. There’s lots of blue in that scene, and I’d imagine isolating just the lightning would be a hassle.

Anyways, my point about Rey’s eyes still stands. It would be a 1 second deepfake using the same face as the source so I really can’t imagine anything going wrong.
Actually Luke was footage from the OT, they had Carrie’s daughter do young Leia and used CGI that’s why it looks a little strange.
If anybody is even remotely skilled at deepfaking I’d imagine that dark Rey’s eyes could be taken care of rather easily. Yes, you’d be deepfaking Daisy Ridley’s face onto Daisy Ridley’s face but based on what I understand the eyes would be normal again once finished. Might be something I’ll look into myself eventually if it’s all we are waiting on.
It’s also worth looking into for the brief young Leia appearance in the flashback. Luke looks fine but Leia is definitely in the uncanny valley like her appearance in Rogue One. A simple deepfake should fix that.

That being said, I don’t think KoR dialogue should be excluded entirely from this project. I for one am of the opinion that their scenes are extremely awkward without anybody saying anything.
I can’t think of any reason people would be against the two you have listed there. I’ve only ever heard complaints about the Knights of Ren voices.
On scale: reminder that the original end of the Saga was a small scale skirmish in a forest, while “Death Star 2, yes we’re actually calling it that” happens in the space above, and then this song plays.
The only thing really climactic about it was the hero and villain’s Jedi confrontation. I think all we can do for TROS is try to fine tune that same aspect of the story, and we’ve probably got it as good as we’re gonna get so far.
Fair point. It wasn’t until the Special Editions that we actually got to see the effects all this had on the galaxy at large.
Speaking of which, didn’t we add planets like Naboo to the sequence in TROS? That’s also something.
Well, for one it makes Luke’s intentions regarding his plan be about two different things (distraction and accepting his place as a legend). And for another it removes the implication that some downtrodden kid managed to hear the story as it trickled all the way down from people who are supposed to be serving the First Order, not spreading propaganda against it, which has always kinda bothered me.
EDIT: Just had an amusing thought. I suppose this is why Hux had to be made a spy in TROS, because how else would the story have gotten out? lol
I suppose this is more of a TLJ change, but I wonder if it would be possible to add holocam droids flying around above Kylo and Luke in their duel. Maybe use the extended footage from Canto Bight to make it clear it’s being broadcast across the galaxy. That way, when the TROS civilian fleet shows up, it feels even more like a natural extension of TLJ’s scale.
Current plan is merely to remove the
milky eyes. To me adding Sith eyes was excessive.
I feel like adding Sith eyes there would mean her dark reflection would need to have them later on in the Death Star wreckage. So I suppose this is the easiest solution as well for consistency.

The only thing that was problematic was “I never lied to you”, because technically speaking Rey was the one to admit her parents were nobody. Theoretically, anything within reason could replace that line to achieve the same goal.
