I believe Poe is talking about the lowly status of being a scavenger in that case, not suggesting that it is a bad thing. Stormtroopers are grunts, and being a spice runner suggests that the person is in a pretty destitute situation.

I agree that there really isn’t anything you can replace it with, although if I think of something I’ll let you know!

Sounds perfect in the video format to me. Haven’t tried headphones yet but on speakers it sounds completely natural.

EDIT: Still a slight hiccup with headphones on, but who is usually watching movies with them on anyways?

It’s important to clarify that I’m not trying to be rude when I say the following. I think your work is really well done, Nev.

But why should we delete portions of the film in order to keep this cosmetic change? It looks like Luke’s “You have everything you need” would have to go so you could create a transition to something else for a while. I’d personally prefer to have content rather than a little less content in a different shade. What do you all think, though?

Again, I think it’s a cool idea but might not be worth it.

I can see why they would delete it if they considered it too dark and make it unbelievable for him to turn back to the light.

But still… I would pay good money to get my hands on deleted TROS scenes.

I disagree with this. The point of the thing with Leia is for Luke to show to Rey that just because she’s a Palpatine doesn’t mean others inherently hate her for her lineage; it’s part of her arc of overcoming her toxic core belief that she is worthless, she’s developed that core belief during her time on Jakku after she was abandoned.

First off, you’ve already posted this before.

Second, see my previous comment here. I’m trying to fix this issue by adding back in Luke saying “Your spirit. Your heart”. This would make it much more clear that she needs to be focusing on those more than her lineage, which is exactly what you are arguing. By adding the line back in, Luke is basically saying that others see her for her spirit and heart, and she should do the same. We just leave out the whole Leia always having known bit because that’s just ridiculous.

My problem with that is he never specifies what is “stronger than blood”. Sure, maybe his message speaks for itself, but I am proposing the following:
“Because you’re a Palpatine. Your spirit, your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood…”

I agree with everyone else that the nighttime and morning regrades look fantastic. Not sold on the evening, though.

Also, I find it somewhat hard to believe that Rey and Luke would be talking ALL night long. Of course, Ahch-To could have a shorter day/night cycle if we wanted to. But the impression for the average viewer is that she was there for about 10 hours. Meh.

Is it possible that when she is burning the Falcon it is night? That would not only make the timing make more sense, but also remove the evening regrade that doesn’t look as good.

So yeah the lights ARE still on in this shot but it’s very hard to tell. I’d imagine this would be much easier to fix than the much closer shot. It’s just a bunch of pixels after all.

And we are using the lights out larger shot, so this would be a good idea.

If I were to try to work on it, I would have to go frame by frame to edit it in like paint or something. So hopefully somebody else knows how to do it better lol.

From what I recall, that shot didn’t need that adjustment. But I could be wrong.

It was never worked on, if that’s what you’re asking.

That is actually her repeating “No” because she is hearing her younger self saying it. I would actually want to remove that.

I have an idea suggestion + a concept of it. There is a shot of Kylo in a surrounding that looks like his chambers on his Star Destroyer in the documentary. If you place it at the beginning of the mind link scene with Rey touching the dagger in his chambers, it makes it look like Kylo is right behind her… only to reveal that he isn’t. And then later on the fight, it appears they are fighting in his quarters while Kylo isn’t actually there, and that they are fighting on Kijimi’s surface while Rey isn’t actually there. So it all makes sense.

It’s a subtle change, but I feel it adds to the intensity of the “jumpscare”, if you will 😃

Also, there is a slight audio pop there but that’s just because my editing software is bad. That wouldn’t be there in the final product.

I do really love the Kylo Falcon scene and that was a deleted scene I couldn’t understand why it got deleted. However, I do think it would fit better in an edit of TFA rather than this TROS edit.

I remember somebody was able to make it partially disappear. Like, if you weren’t looking at the corner of the screen you wouldn’t notice it was there but you would if you did.

I had it downloaded at one point, but lost it and don’t remember where I got it from on this forum since.

Also, In case you didn’t know, MR, I have contributed to this project in the past. It was my idea to remove Palpatine’s “for my grandchild to come home”. I did a mockup of that change that proved helpful to Hal.

Are we not allowed to discuss fun ideas in here? I never said that you specifically need to work on such an idea. In fact, I didn’t say anybody needed to do that. I was only speaking about in theory what somebody would have to do in order to make that deleted scene work for this movie.

Just know for future reference that when I use the word “you” I’m sometimes not referring to the actual person I’m messaging. I just use that word sometimes as a replacement for “somebody”. Should probably get out of that habit to avoid misunderstandings like that lol.
