Star Wars Trilogy changes
Time
Thanks for the site link. It's great to see them side by side. Just look at the detail level on the 2004 edition, amazing! And there isn't even any evidence that the gain has been upped. Looks great. I must say I prefer the colours of the 2004 edition best. Something raw looking about them. More realistic perhaps. Somehow 3PO looks more like he did in press stills from 1977.

The 2004 edition of ROTJ looks great. Apart from the obvious changes the film looks brand new. It's great to see so much of the detail that the cinematographer worked on back in 82/83.

BBC Radio 1 - Star Wars: Skywalker, Radio Documentary
Time
Guys,

I have been posting on these boards for a while now and you seem like a great bunch of guys. So I thought it was time I gave something back So I have delved into my archives (shelves) and I have found something that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else for some time - The BBC Radio 1 - Star Wars: Skywalker, Radio Documentary broadcast in 97. It's about an hour long and follows the life of GL and his eventual creation of SW. It includes clips of interview old and new (some never heard before) from GL, Kersh, Kurtz, Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Murch etc

So, if you want a copy of it, or want to know more please send me a PM.

Furthermore, if any of you artists out there fancy making a CD cover for it, that would be great!

From a certain point of view...

(Paply got Schmi drunk, had his way - she refuses to acknowledge the event and refuses him access to the kid - this sends him a little overboard and he unhatches a fiendish plot to get to know his son)

1995 VHS
Time
You can still get hold of those on ebay mate in VHS form. Otherwise contact Rikter when he returns from his break. He will hook you up with some DVDs.

Talking of seeing the OT for the last time. I was one of 300 or so people to see the OT at Elstree back in 1993 (or was it 94?). There was even a letter read out from Lucas telling us this would be the LAST time any of us would see the Trilogy in it's original form. We were also lucky enough to have a few special guests too. Prowse, Baker et al.

Star Wars - The Edits and DVDr releases thread
Time
I am hoping to receive my MagnoliaFan edits this week (RiK posted em at the weekend I think) so I am pleased to see another 'review' before I get to watch them. I am particularly looking forward to 'Balance'. It will be great to watch it again without having to endure some of the crap Lucas insisted on putting in there. Being an editor and a lover of Star Wars myself I hope to give you my opinions from a technical and fan point of view in a review next week.

Why didn't Anakin fade away when he died?
Time
Perhaps he was confused because he used to have eyebrows and in the DVD edition they have gone!

This dissappearing/burning issue is one I have come across on plenty of other forums. Nobody has managed to explain why Qui Gon didn't dissappear when he died (you clearly see him on the pyre). Some believed back in 1999 that Qui Gon was actually a secret dark sider and that dark Jedi don't dissappear (as in the case of Anakin in ROTJ). Unfortunately this hasn't been explained in AOTC and no spy reports make any mention of it for ROTS. Perhaps the answer is simple... it could be a complete oversight by Mr Lucas and co.

Star Wars DVD Covers

RiK,

Sorry to put a downer on things, because as you know I think you do awesome work, but I am afraid that is a SE shot.

Take a look at the screen grab I just made from my SE avi. It's the same shot (give or take a frame). Just to clarify, the stars aren't visible in my avi of the SE as it's a pretty crappy copy, but I assure you, this grab is taken from the SE.
