Someone is selling 'Building Empire' on ebay! But here's the punch line, they are calling it 'The Empire Strikes Back - Deleted Magic Edition'.

I like the use of the non-existant word "Operture".

Priceless!.... I had better put a stop to it!

Hmm. I guess I have considered that I might consider it once I have seen the OUT DVD. With all things considered (read - disc space constraints and time), I am not sure I will be able to! But you never know.

Hi Folks,

Yes I a continuing with this project.

'Returning to Jedi' is only about 20% complete at present. I must admit I am tempted to wait for the OT release before completing this project (no offense OCP and Moth3r, I just want to see what it looks like).

Progress is slow at the moment as I am very busy at work. However, I should get lots of time in late June and July. I will keep you up to date with any progress.

In the meantime if you have ANY Return of the Jedi related audio or video interviews, please drop me a PM, remembering to include your email address please.

I'm half expecting a 'cease and desist letter' to appear on OT.com soon along with the shutdown of myspleen and the imprisonment of myself and Ocp. Hopefully the meals might be better than those on airlines I've flown with lately.

Well done to all of us at originaltrilogy.com for convincing Lucasfilm marketing that there is a valid commercial environment for them release the trilogy once (twice?) again. I think if nothing else this shows that a group of like-minded individuals can get together and prove to number crunchers that things add up.

Well, what a turn up for the books! I thought I was still asleep when I read this news. I must say it came totally out of the blue. I really didn't think this would ever happen.

I can only hope that the transfers are from an anamorphic SD source (digi beta perhaps). Whatever, as long as they look better than the letterboxed 4:3 laserdiscs I will be happy.

Oh.. and Lucasfilm, if, by any chance you want to include 'Building Empire' in the release, just give me a call.

Talking of downloads etc, I am shocked (and pleased) to see that in just 21 days 'Building Empire' has been downloaded from Myspleen 486 times!

With my distribution, PiFs and the newsgroup release this thing must be in 700+ homes.

K, it looks great and really takes me back the 1980s when I loved playing the games on my Amstrad CPC.

Why not use "creator Jambe Davdar" or just "the creator" (delusions of grandier?) in the blurb on the back. This will be in keeping with originaltrilogy.com and means that people can come and find this thread.

This has been a question that has plagued me over the past few months. I admit, the legal side of my 'Building Empire' project does concern me. I am after all illegally editing someone else's property as prohibited by the legal notice at the start of the film.

I am not blasé about piracy, I don't copy commercial DVD's or buy pirate DVD's purely on principal. I also don't charge a single penny for a copy of 'Building Empire' and never will.

I sometimes wonder why Lucasfilm have turned a blind eye to such fan edits. Is it good will, ignorance, or simply that they have bigger fish to fry?

I hope that Lucasfilm see such projects as 'Building Empire' as they were intended, that is to say, they are made with the utmost love and respect for the Original Trilogy. I also hope that these projects remind Lucasfilm that they have a talented, intelligent fan base that should be encouraged to challenge the official releases. For me, 'pushing the envelope' is what its all about.

Er... I haven't even got half way with this yet! Not even a quarter of the way! Patience please my dear friends. I don't want to just release any old thing, I want this to be the definitive doco on ROTJ to date.

As far as Prune Face is concerned. Your wish is my command. I have already written a small section about the action figures.

Oh, and it's gonna be PAL!
