[<( The Star Wars TV Commercials Project )>] (* unfinished project * - a host of info)
Time
Hey SKot,

I am pretty sure I still have the 1990's UK Star Wars 'Tunes' (menthol sweets/candy) advert/commercial on a PAL VHS at home. It's a spoof of a sequence from Star Wars. I am pretty sure they constructed the set (rather than using CG). It includes a very camp Imperial Lieutenant and a rather annoyed Darth.

Do you have this already? If not, would you be interested in including it?

When I get the chance, I will have a look through to see if there are any others on the tape.

Is that a rare mix by any means? I have a copy of the tape that has not been played many times.

I don't think it's rare. In 'Building Empire' I simply stuck to looking at the major changes across each audio version. In some instances I didn't mention a change simply because there was no room to do so. E.g 3PO's "This is suicide" line.

Here's a random question - what sound mix would ESB have if it were broadcast on HBO in 1985 or so? That's the version I grew up with.

Thanks Andy, I'm glad you liked it.

I totally understand your criticism. I did struggle towards the end to get something on each scene. But I was reluctant to put just any old thing in there for the sake of it.

Maybe I will go back to Star Wars one day. 'Returning to Jedi' and my 'Other Project' are eating up lots of time at the moment.

I guess HBO would have 35mm 1980 mix. Ocp might be able to confirm that. Is he back with us yet?

Thanks
JD

Yeah it was Tim Rose operating Crumb in 'Star Wars to Jedi'. They are actually on their way to Elstree from ILM, flying on a Pan Am 747! It will make an appearance...somewhere.

Good News - I have a couple of Jedi crew members interested in doing interviews for 'Returning'. I am not sure if they will be audio or written interviews yet, but they will be included...somehow.

Does ANYONE have the NBC Star Wars Time & Again which aired a few years ago? It has some great interview footage from around the time of the films' releases. I have a crappy 'off air' copy but it's next pretty much unusable.

Also, there are some interviews over at UGO with some 'Jedi' crew members. Does anyone have a contact over there?

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S Head over to Youtube and help boost the rating of my 'Returning' trailer

I seem to remember those files are of pretty poor quality anyway. Thanks for the heads up though.

EDIT - I have just found another site hosting one of the Hamill files, and yeah, it's pretty unusable (poorly recorded at the time).

Shame

BTW folks - My blog is now looking better. Both the trailers are available there using youtube, so head over there if you had problems viewing the h.264 version.

I have just looked back at the FCP timeline and the corruption is not there. It must be a problem that occured during the rendering process.

I had already noticed this problem, but as you guys were so ravenous for this to be released....

Man you're a picky bunch!

Agreed. The spelling and grammar mistakes were corrected for the final version. If the wrong version has been uploaded then it needs sorting.

If you do have the final version with the multiple menu screens and the easter egg, then I would be grateful if you could let me know where the mistakes are as I really thought they had all been corrected.

Is anyone else able to confirm that the myspleen download is the final version?

Thanks

Like I said before, I think this is the best fan made project ever. The only niggling thing to me was the use of the '04 discs (I think somebody else mentioned it earlier in the thread too). It's not a big deal, but it would make your film perfect.

Ok THX, as long as 'Returning to Jedi' is all done by October, I will take a look at getting the unaltered film integrated into 'Building Empire'.

return of the jedi cd from national philharmonic conducted by George Gerhardt has an instrumental version of the ewok song without lyrics

Club mix and dub mix single LP of Lapti Nek

Behind the magic cd rom has audio clips of lucas on jedi in scene by scene.

WOW, that's some list.

I have some of those articles (buried in my loft!). I also have the LP of Lapti Nek (thanks to Russ).

I also have the Behind the Magic CD ROM, unfortunately I have a mac these days, so there's no way for me to run it.

Does anyone have these Lucas Jedi audio clips isolated??

Thanks again

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

So far I have obtained and/or used:

- 2004 DVD Supplemental Material
- Laserdisc Supplementals (inc Death Star II Animatics)
- Classic Creatures
- From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga
- Other official DVD extras (if you know of any specific ROTJ footage let me know)
- Teasers & Trailers
- Photos of Sand storm deleted scene
- Comic Adaptations
- Radio Drama
- Skywalker (BBC Radio 1 Programme)
- NPR Richard Marquand Audio Interview
- Return of the Ewok
- Horizon, How to Film the Impossible
- ROTJ Soundtrack (previously unreleased music)
- BBC Interview - Jeremy Bulloch
- Annotated Screenplays Book
- Wonder Column in Space Anthony Daniels CD
- When Star Wars Ruled the World
- Rarities 1
- Lucasfilm Archives book
- Art of ROTJ Book
- Star Wars Chronicles book
- Empire Building book
- Making of Jedi Book

Phew! I am sure there's more to add to this list but I can't remember what off the top of my head.

If anyone has that 'Luke building his Lightsaber' storyboard in Hi-res, I would be grateful if you could send it.

I am also after Mot3r's PAL ROTJ DVD. Or perhaps I should delay the release and use the official OT DVD.

I also have a 'Revenge' crawl to build, and a reconstructed shooting script to work through.

Here's a sneaky peak at the progress so far:
