Ha, nice.

Been enjoying some good family time this week but with the kids back at school I should be able to tackle some more SWB work in the next couple of weeks.

The guy who did my original concept crawl as seen in my trailer for SWB unfortunately made a spelling mistake.  I have been unable to raise him so I wondered if there was anyone out there who fancied taking up the challenge.

I could also speed up this whole thing if someone would help me by making some DVD menu graphics. Nothing too flashy, just something that fits with BE and RTJ.

What do you say gang?

Sorry I couldn't help any of you with the download issues but I never did get involved in the uploading of these docos, apart from on youtube of course. Thanks to those that are still keeping the interest up and pushing this thing around the world.

Also wanted to say a big thank you to whatever drives the 'recommended videos' on youtube. Thanks to the Luke deleted cave scene that was shown at celebration, my views on youtube went up from 50 per day to 13,000 per day for a solid week. I am now up to 820,000 views in all. Just incredible. Thanks for all of your support!

SKot, good find. That appears to be his jacket. Yes, I have already made reference to this using a photo from the Sculpting DVD.

Thanks BMadden. I'm looking forward to it's release too!

Thanks Ady, great stuff! I love photos of the saga, particularly the rare ones!

I will update my blog Bravo Zulu. Sorry to have worried you. Glad you like the docos.  There are no more parts to Star Wars Begins as I will be uploading the final versions eventually.

Thanks

Return of the Jedi cut-scene

I quite agree MagnoliaFan.  As an editor I have always found it fascinating that the addition or omission of just a frame here or a frame there, can change the entire feel of a movie. For me this is a study in what the film could have been, had the scene been included. Recycled elements or not.  This is a scene I've wanted to see for ages. It was a delight for me.

I see that many of the problems that made me almost leave the community are still here.  Ady, your work is fantastic and never forget how much it is loved by the majority.  All of our work has room for improvement but there are ways of being critical in a constructive and polite manner.

We really do appreciate all your hard work. Thanks again.

I am still looking for something to talk about in the other control room. It does of course make another appearance in the film when Vader and the Tie Fighter pilots head to their ships. It's just to the left of the screen.

Have you commented about the trooper hitting his head on the door? Which is then referenced in Attack of the Clones?

Doesn't this control room also appear in the deleted Chief Bast scene that was used in the Holiday Special?

Could you comment on the way that the actors had to freeze while the doors opened and closed, to achieve the "fast door" effect?

A bit of trivia: the actor who played the "TK421, do you copy?" officer reprised his role for the fan film The Dark Redemption.

Hey Erik,

Yeah, spoken about the doors. Will check out the Bast scene again.  No offense but I don't think i will mention anything related to a fan film.

The tropper hitting is head is also of course referenced.  I even do an instant replay!

Hey guys, thanks for the support.

Been watching through what I've got so far and filling in some of the holes.

However, the scene on the Deathstar just after Chewie knocks that Imperial out, lacks something.  There are a few behind the scenes shots and I've mentioned the inclusion and lack of the Threepio line in different versions.  However, for the rest of the scene there is nothing much to say.  Does anyone have any good behind the scenes photos of that scene?

Thanks

JD

Sounds like a significant pain. (but lots of practice!)

Another option is to open the FCP file in a text editor and find out where everything used to be.  Then create a virtual drive with those exact locations.  Then see if everything reconnects ok.  But if the real error is the editing file got corrupted and replaced the file locations with 'clapper sound' then this is probably not worth it.

I managed to get it to reconnect to a large portion of the edit. That being Empire of Dreams. For some reason it renamed that and the THX disc something completely random. I actually spent two hours last night editing. This thing is coming along nicely.

"Lucasfilm THX Ultimate Demo Disc 2003 NTSC" went up to a.b.sw in May.

I've found that FCP, once you've reassociated one file, it tends to reconnect others if they are in similar folder locations.  Hopefully the same will happen on your end.

none, I don't go on the boards unfortunately. I wonder if any of the UK based folks would be able to send me the DVD?

FCP is not automatically connecting because of a bug in my version. I even tried updating but the data is lost.  It knows that the media is offline but has lost the register to each of the media so I have to do the whole things manually. Plus its lots about 1/5th of the media completely.  It things 1/5th of the project came from a file called 'clapper sound', it didn't. So I have to edit all of that back in!

Hey oojason, great to hear from you. Life is good actually, thanks.  Things are really looking up lately.  I hope you are well too mate.

Good news. Drive is back. Cost me £758. Thanks for the six donations. You have helped me cover 1/7th of the cost which is amazing. Any other donations would be much appreciated. I was unable to reconnect the media to the FCP timeline automatically, so I am doing it manually, which will take a looong time.

Also, several files have become corrupt. For some reason it has also lost random parts of the edit including clips taken from the THX laserdisc. Is anyone able to send me the DVD version please? Also the lost edit scenes have disappeared from the timeline but I have the original media so I will have to edit all that in again.

So, in short, it will take a while to get back on track, but rest assured it will happen.  I have already spent a couple of hours on it this week.

Thanks for all your support.

The drive recovery co got in touch yesterday with a list of the files that they are able to recover.  It was a very long list. And whilst I don't know exactly what is missing, things are looking good for a pretty full recovery.

Please donate if you can. This is costing me £650+!!

Thanks to the four kind people who have donated so far. I can't express how grateful I am, other than to say you guys rock.
