Hi Monroville, the main thing that annoys me about Alien is the scene with the decapitated Ash. The jump cuts between Ian and the dummy head need fixed and when the skin is being burnt off by the flamethrower the final blast of flames blows off the last of the skin revealing the white plastic looking mannequin head, no eye sockets, skull, nothing.

I'll have to check it again, maybe the last blast of flame could be cut before the plastic head was revealed.

My understanding is that the TIE space craft design is used in a multitude of ways, Fighter, Advanced, Bomber, Interceptor and Shuttle. TIE craft are primarily used for non-atmospheric flight.

As Bingowings & Ady said it was probably designed as a transport before being used as a bomber.

Its your edit Ady, but a TIE Shuttle is already a Shuttle, seems since ROTJ everyone thinks theres only one design, after I saw TESB in '80 for three years I thought a TIE Shuttle was the only way for senior officers to travel.

Shuttles should be for shuttling, bombers should be used for bombing, fighters should be used for fighting and transports should be used for transporting (especially where the Empire are concerned).

In the SE as it stands we have bombers used for shuttling and shuttles used for transporting (Han can get away with the Falcon it's his mobile bachelor pad with guns).

Keep the TIE Shuttle (which was in GOUT), a short range 2 passenger & 1 crew ferry.

Excellent work there Ady, you've breathed life into the Yoda puppet, words now formed by his mouth, fantastic!

O yes, thanks for the positive feedback a few posts back, I'm glad I was able to convince you that you could do it, on top of everything youre doing. Its not that 'young Skywalker' sounds bad, its just that I knew I had Ian saying 'Luke' somewhere (and he says it a few times in different tones) and I'd give it a go, keep up the good work

What about the fine molds Falcon, have you started it Ady? Are you gonna do any modifications to the kit, LED lighting etc, or will you add effects post filming, thats what I'm keen to see, have you got any way to track the camera for some smooth shots?

I've uploaded another video this time with Ian in the picture (you don't need to tell me that some of the timing is off, but its just to see if the 'luke' works with the new footage) I mixed the audio from scratch again still using Musical Journey.... think it sounds better, sure I always say that.

I can't believe that there is still a misunderstanding of this scene!!

The whole galaxy by this stage knows the name Luke Skywalker, the hero of the rebellion. Vader knows Luke is his son, as the kid was involved with Kenobi's disturbance on the Death Star, who was travelling on a ship which escaped from Tattooine. Vader had sensed that this boy was strong with the force, but in the period after the destruction of the Death Star, Luke could not improve his abilities until he met Yoda. This meeting sent tremors in the force, something was happening in the galaxy which could upset the position of Vader and Palps.

'There is a disturbance in the force', someone is being trained (or will be, remember Palps is forseeing this, like Luke feeling the pain of his colleagues on Bespin)

Vader has felt this also, 'Obi Wan can no longer help him' & 'The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi' again supporting the fact that they sense that Skywalker is being educated. 

 

They both already are wanting Skywalker for their own means as master and apprentice & father and son.

 

Palpatine at this stage has forseen that Young Skywalker could mean the end of the Sith, which Vader mentions to Luke at the end of Empire & in Jedi

Sorry to be a pain again, but I've taken on board the suggestions made, I've time-stretched the 'Luke' and added more reverb. I think it sounds a bit better.......but please remember this is only a suggestion.....this is mixed down to 2track stereo, Ady would need to mix this himself for the 5:1 soundtrack.

Ady has mentioned that this clip needs to be croakier to blend in better, i think its that short and the croakiness of 'Skywalker' makes you think that its all croaky.

I think the reasoning for the scene is: Vader and Palps both know that it was Skywalker who destroyed the Death Star and they both want rid of him. But there is a disturbance in the force, Palps has a premonition that things are kicking off somewhere in the galaxy, Luke has just met Yoda and that is like a pulse vibrating through the web of the Force, this is why Palps has this conversation with Vader, remember Vader tells this to Luke in ROTJ. Palps has forseen that Luke could destroy them.

Had a feeling this Musical Journey had been talked about before, the 'Young Skywalker' works fine as it is.

Yep, that does sound pretty good. Some final tweaks and polish and I think that could work!
