Replacing backgrounds with those from ESB can only be possible if the scene had locked-off cameras like Luke & Leias Death Star swing and the least amount of masking & keyframing to keep it believable, Luke's Lightsaber training on the ESB Falcon would be pretty hard with all the motion blur etc (i'm not sure if the ANH footage of Luke is locked-off) and thats just one person in that shot with its background replaced.

It would be very time consuming.

Is there the possibility of just replacing the shot with Vader on a viewscreen?  When you think about it, it is rather silly to have a smurf-sized Vader (or anyone) on what looks like a cigarette plug-in hologramadd-on...

I agree you can't beat the colour mix that Ady corrected in his edit, but the concepts that Angel's creating with their desaturated colours breath new life into the images, he turns the frames into works of art, they make you ponder, they make you unsure if he has added any of the design, the technique he uses lets you notice elements that you would not otherwise stop and look at.

When I saw ROTS this was the bit I cringed at the most, the lightning caused his disfigurement?? what??

I really think this is an excellent cut. The mirrored telepathy voice really helps the stupid quick turnaround of Anakin's loyalties (helps!!, this is the part in the movie that I can't swallow, no mater what editing can be done) 

Its a pity that there was no way to restore Palps face to his pleasant face when he declares himself Emperor, that would show how deceitful he really is... that he can disguise how rotten he is on the inside.....bit like Tony Blair.

Theres the unused composition 'Sail Barge Assault (alternate)' which is upbeat on the double Sony ROJ soundtrack (also called 'The Return of the Jedi (Alternate)' on the Bonus disc of the Star Wars Trilogy Boxset) it is just over 5 minutes long so there should be something you could use of it.

The CG'd menus are only available in SD and to me look fake & would stand out more than the SE added footage.

I think Angel was underlining the potential of 3D camera projection.

ROTJ is a pretty bad movie, I remember sitting in ABC cinema Belfast in 83 aged fifteen with ESB memories still in my head looking around the audience thinking 'Do they all think this is shit?!'

As i've always said......Cheap!

Cutting out the cringe will leave this movie as a disconnected skeleton, we really need reshot, Re CG'd & rethought elements to bring this movie up to the standards of ANH & ESB

Yeah Ady has used a CG falcon but remember he bought the larger scaled version of this model (he wont tell us what scenes he's using it for though) I thought this video blog might be useful...yunno tips and all that.
