STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

I gave this edit a low rating because it was almost the same as the original. Sure, many good effects were put in such as adding extra tie fighters and making the lightsaber blue instead of a greenish tint. But, it wasnt enough to warrant a rating over 5 stars. The changes seemed to be merely touch-ups to the original.

The audio was good. The video was good. The cuts were seamless. I just dont think there was enough work put in to give more than 5 stars. A good example of a great edit would be Terminator 3: The coming storm, done by Uncanny Antman. Im a huuggge star wars fan and this didnt cut it for me. If the star rating is based on my opinion and liking of the edit, then I did what was asked of me.

For a huuggge Star Wars fan, he mustn't have paid much attention to the original movie or to Ady's edit, if all he noticed were a few tie fighters & 'touch-ups'.

It's quite sad really that this poor person doesn't really know what he's talking about.

They cut the sound because I used The Pretenders 'I'll stand by you' which I used cause it says "I saw the dark side".

Here's the end bit of the clip...just editing out the dumb line.

I don't know why Ady kept in the SE added stormies saying 'there's no-one here' as it doesn't make sence, especially after the officer told Vader there was no-one on board, kinda makes the officer looks like he was spoofing..

Has the topic of Vader telling one of his officers at the ramp of the captured Falcon that 'he senses something' been discussed?

It is a bit daft. Pity we can't see the expression of the officer.

Play it to the end as I've fixed it & the stormies repeating there is no-one on board.

EDIT: Replaced link as Youtube disabled audio

I'm still a little disappointed in Ady not using Temuera Morisson's voiceover, and actually re-using Jeremy Bulloch's. I know, I know, we've all grown up accustomed to Bulloch's voice, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Boba is Jango's clone, so he should have the same voice.

I might have stepped on some toes bringing this sore subject up again, but that's just my two cents.

Jason Wingreen provided the original voice for Boba. Ady is reusing this original voice not only because it sounds better/cooler but because he doesn't believe that changes need made to the original trilogy just to fit into the poorly conceived new trilogy.

OI, the recent Vader hologram debate was kickstarted by me with this clip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwB1V3TLs9c

which eventually lead to Monroville's suggestion of a monitor

Is there the possibility of just replacing the shot with Vader on a viewscreen? When you think about it, it is rather silly to have a smurf-sized Vader (or anyone) on what looks like a cigarette plug-in hologram add-on...

The 'laptop' idea wasn't my preferred concept, I was trying to mock up Monrovilles suggestion.

IMO changing scenes just because we can is most of what's left to do on ANH :-) With exeptions like the images above of course, but changing backgrounds and colors definitely falls into the cathegory of changing stuff just because we can.

I'm all for changing scenes to improve the style or mood, just because we can.

Does anyone remember if Kenny's socks were mentioned on SW:R thread and did Adywan have any thoughts about their removal?

Thanks Harmy,

Thats me finished with the General scene, I didn't really see anything wrong with the original scene, changing the General to a hologram is really stepping into Lucas' territory; changing scenes just because we can!!...but I had started mucking so I finished it.

The thing that appears in most of the SW movies even the prequels are Kenny Baker's Copex socks, which were used to disguise the fact that he was in the suit.

It would require a bit of work to remove them.

Although there have been some interesting ideas i will be sticking with a hologram of Vader.

Cool enough. After seeing the various mock-ups, I think the one that would fit the best while retaining the original concept would be the Vader head (as opposed to full body). Regardless, still patiently awaiting the release to see what surprises you have in store.

I still prefer the original full body shot of vader but obviously when they filmed the scene the shot wasn't lit right and some of the green/blue-screen reflected onto Vaders helmet. When they keyed out the green/blue-screen the resulting hologram image of Vader looks like he has a squashed head.

If Ady was able to get fresh footage I think that is all that is needed, Bingo's mock-up of the head is a good idea but from that angle it looks a bit like the Black Knight from Monty Python's Holy Grail.

brash_stryker, I use Apple Motion for any videos I make, and the standard colouring that comes with it, I do have Magic Bullet but I still go back to Apple standard.

Have you thought of duplicating your layers and creating masks for them, ie: bottom layer has been recoloured with your overall new colour scheme, higher layer is a mask of Jangos blue part of his helmet recoloured rust.....it does require time spent keyframing.....but does look effective.

Maybe you've tried this?!

The Vader footage is masked from his conversation with Palps and the background is just before that scene when Piet tells Vader that Palps wants a chat, Vader marches off on the right of screen - the left of screen has various Imperials moving about.

You can actually see Vaders cloak exiting on right of screen - forgot to mask:(

Yeah I would prefer a hologram also, Monroville had said on the page previous:

It's hard to find footage of Vader in that sort of pose at that angle, anyone know anybody with a Vader suit?...come to think of it, my son has one.
