Which probably means we get the same edited version of SPFX that has always been on video, or worse yet, the 90's version of Making of Star Wars that replaces William Conrad's original narration. :(
That Making of Star Wars would be one of the only documentaries I'd be interested in, the original narration fits the era it was produced in...right in the middle of 'Star Wars Mania'

I repost this for Mr J:
Quick trivia: Is anyone else noticed that luke's head appears behind R2 D2 when the falcon first get shot and lights are fading off and on? He appears in 3-4 frames and i suggest that he should be removed from that shot.
-Angel
I brightened it and slowed it down, but I can't see Luke's head
EDIT: Yeah just saw it....it happens once the lights fade back up....heres the ZOOMED clip:

Any feedback welcome matesy!.....just want to improve the scene
I'll keep you posted
J
I do from interest in SW

I know in the real world there is a bit of a crossover (Concorde was designed to double as a supersonic bomber) but a bomber with it's wings on the wrong way is still a bomber.
Similarly this vessel was designed as an interstellar transport for use in SW (with normal bent in panels), then re-used as a bomber in the sequel

I like the Lambda shuttle, so does Ady.
Yeah, pity about that
J
Yeah, I know, like TIE Fighter, TIE advanced, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor and TIE Shuttle.....by the way did you get your disc?
J
Someone has built a studio scale model of Needa's Shuttle

Very nice Angel, you've enhanced the off-white ruggedness of the Falcon contrasting with the sterile interiors of the Death Star, more pleasing to the eye.
Still mucking about with a background plate for the Toche Station land speeder intro...its by no means finished yet....shadows on sand around new building....make buildings dimensions decrease for distance etc.

but not in a ILM SE kind of way,
What do you mean?
By that, I mean your images are sharp and effective, but not jarring and screaming, 'LOOK AT ME! I'M A NEW BIT!'
The look of the movie could be rebooted especially by the Tattooine shots
J
Definitely looks different, but not in a ILM SE kind of way, what resolution did you do these at Angel?
J
Love these images Angel, to get background plate for the speeder mockup could be tricky to last the entire scene.
The top shot looks do-able

I have stabilised R2 at the beginning of clip & fixed a couple of glitches in the previous clip

Nice work Mr J.
The stabilization is very good and its not dead steady while keeping the nice reflections :)
"Very nice work on the shadows ( im impressed with that!!!)"
-Blue
One thing. The sand as well is looks it looks off because the buildings have very hot spots in the highlights. Either you have to tone the highlights of the buildings (some areas are too contrasty too compare with the realistic looking sand (blame the 2004 transfers or Zod i dont know)
One nice touch will be to remove or desaturate the damn blue electric engines from the speeder.
-Angel
Thanks Angel (& Blue)
The shadows were created by a CG model with same path as footage.
I want to improve this shot, I still think the buildings look too artificial also, maybe I'll go back to the original Toshi Station footage (or recently photographed location pics...)

.... but where is this youtube video you're referring to?
Here

I tried to make my own edit of your audio DF Shadow, but couldn't get it to sound right.....so I used the audio from film to where R2 beeps then cut to your "I wanted you to have this when you were old enough" then cut back to video soundtrack.
You did a grand job DF
J
Thanks guys

^^ Ah, gotcha.
Jae I have a personal request which maybe you can accommodate.
I made this edit of Obi-Wan telling Luke "I wanted you to have this" instead of "your father wanted you to have this" and was wondering if you could pop it over that clip to see how it works?
http://www.zshare.net/audio/9330572530c4775f/
The timing hasn't' been changed so it should be okay. Plus, miraculously Obi-Wan is turned around at that exact moment so this should fit.
That sounds good!, I'll have a go

Other parts of Mos Eisley to tweak also
J
While looking at stabilising R2, I tried to make the ground look a bit less SE and blend in with surrounding shots.....still haven't fixed R2 though.
Here's it in motion:

Hey Harmy.............totally different to anything out there.........fresh & modern.........better than the official Blu-ray covers........how do I get 'em?

Now suppose Ady finds, or designs, or inserts in PT:R some ship meant to be a Republic shuttle, then he could use it again in ROTJ:R as the old ship the rebels use to infiltrate...
I like the idea of that, seeing perhaps a pristine shuttle at the birth of the Empire and returning in ROTJ a bit dog-eared....when i heard that the Falcon was to make an appearance in ROTS, it looked exactly the same as we know it...only with a different paint job!.....its a pity we couldn't have seen a YT-1300 without any of Han's modifications....less than a piece of junk...with no missing panels etc.
J
......or will they end up as one or two episodes....its a huge job to try and make sense of them, I'm sure you already have a better story in your head than Lucas gave us.
