EDIT: WRONG THREAD

EDIT: WRONG THREAD

Yep its there on the BD
....and on the GOUT
J
When you say Star Wars does that include ROTJ?.....& it's not really a mistake
I can't believe that with all the unnecessary changes they made for the BD's they couldn't have removed this lovely wall mural
J
I have done a Hybrid version of Revisited & Purist.......Keeps Re-ordered version of Ben's conversation....then cuts to Purist version of Death Star reveal (without Imperial March) & DS briefing room (without Emperors Theme)....cuts back to Revisited up to Ben & Vaders duel....which is the Purist cut (without prequel music).....cut back to Revisited up till the TIE's in formation.....which is purist (without Imperial March).....then on to Revisited for Finale.

.....there is no reason to change it. Especially if you're basically just recreating with CGI what's originally been done perfectly with practical FX.
Oh, and in the last sample, you can see pieces of the original DS on the edges of the CG one.
You're absolutely right Harmy, I quickly pasted the new render over the image....there is even a matte blocking off some of the stars.....I posted it just to show different lighting and contrast as suggested by another post
......also the reason for going CG is not to recreate what has been done before, I did this 'sketch' to showcase Angels (very well done) Death Star model, by trying to emulate the compositions from the original movie,.....in the end I would be happy with a more dynamic new composition.
Thanks for feedback guys

On a side note, the article mentions that Cameron is converting Titanic to 3D.
Aparently fox have been in Belfast's Waterfront Hall, spec-ing distances from projection booth etc, word is thats where the world premiere is.

Does sound good, it doesn't matter about Vader re-saying "the power of the force" as he does say it a few times in the OT, kinda his catch phrase

...it's never made sense to me that Vader or Palpatine would consider Luke a "new" enemy several years after he saved Leia and destroyed the Death Star......
I think Palps sees him as a new enemy because Luke has just made contact with Yoda.....there is a tremor in the force......'I have felt it' Vader says.....the force is like a spiders web with Palps in the middle.

The Death Star model that Angel created does look cool
J
I dunno......is there something missing in the bottom picture?
That new Adobe erase tool is great

I thought it was a more sensible joke change (it's so difficult to tell these days).
If it isn't the ANH Redux Thread is the place to go with this one.
I quite like the idea that it was left in because it's the sort of daft thing real people do which makes the Star Wars universe feel real despite the fantasy.
I wouldn't have made a big thing of it though (especially not to stretch it out over other films).
Someone Awesome did a nice fix for this shit..shot! and it worked extremely great in motion :)
So its fixable

Where can I see it in motion Angel?
J
Why didn't they just put him further back in, in shadow more, perhaps harder to see.....just his lights
j
Yep, it's as though the foreman says, "Mr Lucas wants this bit changed"
CG artist says "What about reflections and later scenes....y'know for continuity?"
Foreman replies "Never mind that, once you're done get back on to Iron Man"

Apparently those aren't mockups, they're shots from the Blu-ray, according to MF.com.
Yes indeed they are, and it is interesting that it seems that the reflections on 3PO's parts of the furnace are still blue

Looks like Amazon separated their reviews again (unless I had somehow clicked on the wrong page at first). 230 one-star reviews vs 130 five-star.
I'd like to think this is the last straw when it comes to the tweaks, I don't ever remember THIS much outrage over any of the other changes, but I don't really think anything's going to change. Lucasfilm reminds me of some weird cult (Wal-Mart employees can tell you about that).
I don't know how much effect this negative feedback will have on LFL, it is everywhere, the usual big format release has never had this much negative attention......hopefully something good may come of this

Its interesting that only the wicket/willow ewok got the eye treatment and not in all shots(even close ups) Some look good and some others dont.
The other ewoks are like you know them
As i speculated yesterday, that would be true to form, Lucas's changes are not thought out, creating new continuity flaws, like making all the CG Xwing markings the same in the 97SE, and now the miracle moving rock cave that R2 hides in.
This forum has the benefit of wise heads to bounce ideas about. If an idea sounds lame, it usually gets binned, there is no-one at LFL who dares to question Lucas's daft decisions.

Here's something that popped into my head while watching the film again. What do you think about having the propulsion lights on the Millennium Falcon off while it's being pulled into the Death Star's hanger? I just can't get that one line that Han said out of my head.
- Han: We're caught in a tractor beam and it's pulling us in.
- Luke: There's gotta be something you can do!
- Han: There's nothing I can do about kid, I'm at full power. I'm going to have to shut down.
It would make sense from everyone involved in it's capture, especially from the view point of the technicians and troopers looking at the ship entering the hanger with it's propulsion lights off. It'd be quite silly if someone looking at the ship entering the hanger noticed that it's engines were on during the capture and yet shut down the moment it stops when later they conclude that the ship was abandoned earlier.
Yeah, I mentioned this a few weeks ago on the other ANH thread here I intend to fix this (If I ever get round to doing my own edit)
J
I did expect more changes/updates to the films......but it does annoy me that there are few fixes.

This may be something we need to see in motion.
There's a link a few posts above,
I wouldn't be surprised if this effect only occurs here and all remaining Ewok footage untouched......Lucas does things in half measures
J
Gotta say it again, got all three movies...........Thanks mate, you've done a grand job.
J
Ok, that was funny enough
J
Has there been any joke about Obi-Wans fake looking hair between shots?
