Collaborative Fanediting: An ROTJ Proposition (BACK ON TRACK WITH EMANSWFAN AT THE HELM--SEE POST 1488 OR OP FOR A LINK!)

As far as I know, the fighters are not rigged to be animated. I downloaded an X-Wing once, and there was no file with rigging for animation. It wouldn't be hard to do, though.

Most of the modellers there have incorporated all moving joints....Lambda Shuttle...X-Wing, and B-Wings

Just a quick stab but trying to keep the expense of filming to a minimum.

The radio adaptation of ANH had a nice scene where the Tantive IV faked damage to buy time to receive a transmission from the Rebel spies.

I imagine this must have been an early concept for the film as the scene is as similar to R2's repair to Padme's ship in TPM as the Skyhopper race is to the Podrace in the same film and Lucas loves to recycle unused material.

Another touchstone could be the human mercenaries transmitting the Genesis plans to the Bird Of Prey in Star Trek III.

So what you could have is a small ship seemingly adrift near Bothawui (which is under Imperial blockade) and the human (to avoid makeup effects) Captain is keeping up a story that his ship has broken down and is under repair while in the background he is receiving a transmission from the planet.

The Imperials want to board the ship anyway.

They soon twig on about the transmission but they can't jam it so they start shooting both the ship and bombard the source of transmission (creating obvious damage to the populated area of the planet below).

The transmission is completed however and the ship immediately jumps to Hyperspace.

A spot reading of the transmission mystifies the Captain as it seems to obsolete news (It shows the Death Star which was destroyed in the first film).

But zooming into a small grey shape in the footage we see the other Death Star also being built and the dwell on the horrified look on the Captain's face.

Sounds good.....not too much work....the most expense would be the interior of the Captains ship

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread
Time

Random Thought:

LUKE

You know, between his howling and your blasting everything in sight, it's a wonder the whole station doesn't know we're here.

HAN

Bring them on! I prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around.

THREEPIO

We found the computer outlet, sir.

Ben feeds some information into the computer and a map of the city appears on the monitor. He begins to inspect it carefully. Threepio and Artoo look over the control panel. Artoo finds something that makes him whistle wildly.

BEN

Plug in. He should be able to interpret the entire Imperial computer network.

Artoo punches his claw arm into the computer socket and the vast Imperial brain network comes to life, feeding information to the little robot. After a few moments, he beeps something.

THREEPIO

He says he's found the main computer to power the tractor beam that's holding the ship here. He'll try to make the precise location appear on the monitor.

The computer monitor flashes readouts.

THREEPIO

The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave.

Ben studies the data on the monitor readout.

BEN

I don't think you boys can help. I must go alone.

HAN

Whatever you say. I've done more that I bargained for on this trip already.

Artoo casually beeps again.

THREEPIO

He says don't worry, he can switch it off from here....

Artoo makes a satisfying beep.

THREEPIO

...and he has made sure that the ship is refuelled and had the windshield cleaned.

LUKE

Well that was a short visit

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I know Harmy.....its a hard one to call....but if you compare that scene to the one when Luke catches up with R2.....how warm the scene looks.....your new adjustments should blend in just right.....only watch out for skin tones.....have you considered duplicating the layer & masking the faces.....to reduce the yellow-ness there?

NB: not that I think you need to.....but if that was what was causing you concern

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Yes it's definitely do-able, the brightened 'real' shirt i photoshopped in came from the following shot of Han lowering into the carbon chamber, I just skewed it and meshed it a bit to fit over the darkened shirt....therefore Han and the new shirt could be HD sourced this would leave just the out of focus background to uncrop....which luckily is not the focal point of the scene.
