Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

I remember when I first saw Jedi and feeling that Han's whole character was off,...a cocky smart-ass saying 'delusions of grandeur'? or 'You tell that slimy piece of worm ridden filth, he'll get no such pleasure from us'?

To kill off Boba simply by bumbling is kinda like the way Lucas went with kid Anakin accidentally destroying the droid control ship.

In Empire you were on a journey with Solo, you got the feeling he was in control, he knew what he was doing & made quick decisions to get himself out of the s*it, but in Jedi his confidence and strength had gone.

I finally just went through all the pages of this thread yesterday.  There is some amazing work done here.  I'm really craving to see a radical new version of ANH.  Unfortunately so many of the pictures and videos have disappeared, I wonder what I am missing out on.

All mine are gone, I was getting an email every couple of days from youtube about copyright, so I eventually lost all mock-ups....damn the Blu-Rays

Ben studies the data on the monitor readout.

I don't think you boys can help. I must go alone.

                                     HAN

Whatever you say. I've done more that I bargained for on this trip already.

                                     LUKE

I want to go with you.

                                     BEN

Be patient, Luke. Stay and watch over the droids.

                                     LUKE

But he can...

                                     BEN

They must be delivered safely or other star systems will suffer the  same fate as Alderaan. Your destiny lies along a different path than mine.

The Force will be with you... always!.......

.........Besides, it's just around the corner.

PROMETHEUS was (Alien 0?) NOW NO LONGER SPOILER FREE.
Time

I enjoyed it, now that a week has passed and I still think about it. I have rationalised it, it feels to me that I've experienced it, like a dream, dreams can be flawed, parts don't fit, doorways lead to different places,....dunno....even with RLM's list of errors, I would still recommend this movie.

Its not the feeling when I saw the Star Wars prequels....I wanted to like them....but in my gut I knew they were off.

Maybe in time I'll view it differently

Saw it yesterday. Me and my little group really liked it. Can't stop thinking and talking about it. Will see this again very soon. Bring on Part 2!

I agree with Ray, I saw it on Tuesday and I can't stop thinking about it, I haven't had a film in my mind like this for a very long time, I can't see why people are disappointed by this movie, compared to the recipe sci-fi movies we get currently, this is a quality creation.

Harmy, I wouldn't have thought you were born in the late 80's, with the passion you have in restoring the originals, I honestly thought you had experienced them as they were originally released.

That's the whole point, I want to experience it in the closest way possible, which currently is an HD preservation very close to the original.

Well I'm very appreciative that you have Harmy

I love STAR WARS - the movie and its two sequels.

I was born in '88, so I never saw the originals in cinema and I even saw the Special Editions of ESB and ROTJ before I saw the original, so for me, wanting the original versions of the SW Trilogy isn't a question of some kind of childhood nostalgia, it's a question of film history - when I watch a film made in a certain era, I want it to look that way - I watched Butch Casidy and the Sundance Kid on Blu-Ray today and it was a beautiful transfer, which looked like a pristine print of a 60s film and it was magical.

I liked the prequels when I was a kid but I also liked Power Rangers you know. So when I grew up, I realized they weren't so great. I don't hate the prequels, I hate that they're the reason that the original trilogy movies, indisputably some of the most acclaimed films in history, and movies I love, are being changed in their image and the original versions suppressed into obscurity.

Harmy, I wouldn't have thought you were born in the late 80's, with the passion you have in restoring the originals, I honestly thought you had experienced them as they were originally released.

I love Star Wars, in 77 I was 9, I was into Planet of the Apes, Space 1999, Doctor Who but not a great fan Star Trek, I remember cutting out exclusive pictures of Star Wars from 'The Sun' newspaper and trying to draw and make plasticine models of R2 and Stormtroopers.

I really have divorced myself from the poor sequel trilogy, the same way that I don't acknowledge Jaws 3 & 4, Alien 3 & 4, Superman 3 & 4, Halloween 3, 4, .....etc

I don't really mind the originals getting the SE treatment...provided that it is done right....which recently (BD) hasn't, thats why I enjoy and respect what Adywan is doing.

Lucas is performing like a bad plastic surgeon, making cuts and injecting inferior elements to try and make the Originals current and modern,....while we remember what natural beauty was there before.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

On a side note, has anyone found the 2D version playing near them?

I've only found one screen showing it near me, and it's one of those captioned presentations for the hearing impaired.

I was taking my kids to see The Muppets on Saturday and the guy at the Box Office told me that the projector for that showing had broken down and the hoped to have it fixed in time......the foyer was soon full of people waiting to find out if the film was going ahead or if refunds would have to be given,....the film was due to start at 3:30 and we were told the projector was fixed about 25past 3.

It was a stampede to get to the screening room, & it was a full house....

.....on the way I passed two screening rooms for TPM...one was labeled 3D,...not sure about the other one.....can't imagine they would have a full house
