I agree with greenpenguino, this has to be the finest Bond movie, the perfect mix.....after watching a LOT of Bond recently on the 007 channel, this film marks 50 years nostalgically.
The cg dragons didn't bother me, but the DLP image just wasn't bright enough, especially in bright scenes where I was conscious of the screen material.
Cant wait for Bond 24

I am as Dirk McQuickley would say "Shocked and stunned", at this stage of my life and how I feel now for the Star Wars franchise, I really don't think the new Episodes could be any worse than the Prequel trilogy, If they don't improve on the Prequels I don't really think I would care that much.
I don't own or will ever own the Original Trilogy in its current edit, I only watch OUT de-specialised versions....so what I'm getting at is really that signing over to Disney might not be that bad.
George repeatedly re-edited and modified the OT, a lot of those edits recently for the BD release have been heavily criticised. He repeatedly refused to release a clean HD copy of the OUT. Now with Disney owning the films and with the domestic market moving on to 4K equipment, I can't imagine the OT films being frozen at the current (approx) 2K resolution. So what lies in store for the OT, will Disney oversee a new scan of the original film, I can't see the franchise moving on with the originals in this current state, would new updated SE effects be added to a new scan.
I do feel hopeful that Disney will deliver

It does make Vader sound a bit like a scratched record though as he practically takes the same line with Obi-Wan.

Getting back to the scene, when R2 pushes 3P0 off the barge & jumps also, he does this knowing that he is part of the team, that he depends on others, like they depend on him, he takes that leap knowing that he won't be left behind, besides Luke already used a trick to survive when he walked the plank.

Na, I'm still not keen, this is the end of the sequence, to add in R2 flying at the end of it is a bit too clunky, it would end up robbing the scene & I honestly think it would add a WTF to it.....& how would 3P0 get rescued?
I think its fine as it is,....with the magnet, just an improvement needed on how they get picked up.

Not keen on the R2 rocket booster idea when he falls off the barge, but I think the magnet picking the droids up by the body as they LIE on the sand would be better....perhaps 3P0 just sitting up only to get whipped up by the magnet

I think the Anakin's story in the prequels should have been more like this:
Episode one: Perhaps Obi-Wan has a pupil who was a teenager, he would be difficult and problematic showing signs of the Dark Side, Palpatine would be a political leader rising in the Galactic Senate, Anakin would be Obi-Wan's closest aid and buddy...he would be a Jedi but be wise-cracking and humorous (alike Solo). Anakin and 'Ben', as Anakin calls him save each other's lives many times during the Clone Wars, which runs though this film & the next.
Episode two: Obi-Wan's pupil would be an adult and a Jedi, but his decisions and manor would be questionable he is at odds with his Master, Anakin would be the only Jedi who could calm situations and connect with the young Jedi.
The pupil would have some bonding with Palpatine and the audience would have no confusion where his destiny lies.
Jedi begin to get picked off one by one by a masked Sith dressed in Black and soon everyone knows the name of the Sith Assasin...Darth Vader
Episode Three: Palpatine has grown to the height of Supreme Chancellor and is untouchable, he has surrounded himself with undesirables It become apparent the has a henchman...Vader
Vader & Anakin find themselves in a duel, Vader unmasks to reveil Obi-Wans apprentice, which they already suspected, we don't see the outcome of the battle but soon after we do see Vader in the presence of Palpatine in a 'everything is progressing as I have forseen'
By the end of the movie Vader & Obi-Wan duel and Vader is defeated, badly maimed etc, etc....needs life support
......now the only things that conflicts is the kids....and Ben's conversation with Vader on the Death Star

I agree with DominicCobb, If I were to introduce someone to the films (at the minute....Pre Revisited) I would play them OT first, the story plays better that way...going back to explain.
I was thinking of watching the Bond movies in sequence.....obviously watching Daniel Craig's Casino Royale before Dr No

Yeah Bingo, it was the 3D....I was thinking it was the Cinema's fault, but maybe not.
I'm getting fed up with seeing movies on a data projector, if I want to see movies that way I can bring a projector home from work.....I could see the chicken wire on the Batman movie.
I absolutely hated all the Alien movies after Aliens, now after seeing Prometheus I feel there's hope again in the series.

I think Prometheus will be regarded in years to come as a sci-fi classic and I respect Ridley Scott's bold move away from the predictable and expected.
The only negative thing I can honestly say about the film was that the film was slightly out of focus in the cinema I saw it in.

It isn't hard to read the posts before mine, if you read it you will see the topic of conversation was about how ships should look shiny & new in the prequels compared to worn out & used in the originals, I added that there was nothing iconic in the prequels, bar RBR......now people are sayin light sabres & pod racers??
And I didn't say nothing memorable,.....'iconic' is what I said, and that was only 4 posts above

I'm not kidding, there's nothing iconic in the prequels and without a magnifying glass I don't think 'The Stellar Envoy' counts

It is a shame that we didn't see iconic ships in earlier forms in the prequels, shiny new x-wings, the Y-Wings that appeared in the cartoons....perhaps a YT-1300 without modifications and no missing panels etc.
I think the thing I missed in ROTJ was the lack of scenes inside the Falcon.....so no YT-1300 in the prequels was a shame. To me its a bit like bringing Dr Who or Space 1999 back with no TARDIS or Eagle Transporter.
What we did get was the Blockade Runner (Tantive 4) and the ARC-170 which were reminiscent of the X-wings.

Remember this conversation only plays out like this in the recent SE versions, the conversation in Ady's version will be as in the theatrical version (with a few tweaks, due to the manipulation of Ian McDiarmid's lines)
My take on the original Emperor and Vader conversation makes me believe that the two had previously spoke about Luke Skywalker, his part in the destruction of the Death Star, that he was the son of Anakin and they knew he was rising in ranks in the Rebellion, but when Palpatine states 'we have a new enemy' he refers to the Tremor in the Force that is emitting from Dagobah...A Jedi Master has returned and young Skywalker is about to begin his training
If you watch the film with this in mind, it makes the new conversation shallow

Hey I've got an idea, I know its in the wrong thread but the past load of post are also, but in ANH Aunt Beru distinctly asked Luke to remind Uncle Owen to make sure the translator droid speaks bocce.....is there any way that someone could get luke to say this to Owen?

Yeah, when I was a kid I remember thinking Vader was moving up the ranks in the movies, in the first one he was a thug...working for Tarkin, in the next he led the mission to find Skywalker,....in the last he was at the Emperors beck and call...through the three movies he evolved, from rough to more refined.
At the end of the last of the three crap films he looked more refined than he did in ROTJ....it would have looked better if they changed his look more like McQuarrie's concepts
