The strangest thing is George Lucas promised Kershner final cut on Empire. The Special Edition is going back on his word and changing a film he didn’t direct. Worse on Return of the Jedi Richard Marquand was dead and couldn’t be consulted or asked. Only on the first film did he have a right as the director to change the movie. Still should have preserved the original for posterity.

I just ordered the Lando trilogy which i haven’t read in decades. I wonder if i will enjoy the Adventures of Lando books by L neil Smith. The only affordable edition is the Disney printing with legends slapped onto the label. Someday i would like to get the vintage ones but not now.

Did anyone else ever read these i only remember Vuffi Raa.

Added Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex season 1 and 2 Blu-Ray Anchor Bay. and the DVD of Solid State Society since the Blu ray costs way too much. It made sense to get the DVD for 8 bucks rather than to pay 90 dollars for the Bandai USA Blu-Ray.

Don’t consider myself a Weeb. But i like Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex season 1 and 2, and Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star. I liked Soul Eater quite a bit, and Samurai Champloo but the ending was kind of meh.

I really liked the first season of Fireforce and the second season less so. But its not Soul Eater good. And the amount of fan service can distract from the overall story.

Liked the First season of Demon Slayer as well.

One Punch man was good for a few laughs.

Would have loved George’s prototype for this from when he was creating Star Wars. About the Sith and Bendu, Ashla and Bogan. And Darklighter started the Sith.

The Rise of Skywalker wasn’t a steelbook, the advertisement was a lie. Didn’t return it because unlike Amazon it came with a slipcover and was cheap enough to regift.

Last Jedi arrived dented that is two steelbooks USPS has destroyed in a month.

If i watch it i’ll probably go in with an open mind and no preconceived notions. To be honest i have seen 8 of the 9 saga films in the theater and haven’t loved any of them since 1983. If i don’t bring in the baggage of 40 years of fandom maybe it will be an enjoyable 2 hours.

Going to do the same for Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny, but that will be tough it is hard to say goodbye to a favorite character and franchise. Star Wars ended twice for me. Once in 83 and again in 2017. I had the EU for some years but i only sort of have nostalgia for things in the 1990s up to the sale to Disney. Went to episode 9 to say goodbye to Luke and to celebrate the memories. That ticket was a gift i didn’t pay for it, probably wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t.

I just don’t have an attachment to Disney Star Wars to quote Lucas its not my Star Wars. It is great it exists for the young and young at heart who haven’t turned in their fan card.

I hated the new Indiana Jones V trailer. I’m a big fan of James Mangold, but if that flops will his Star Wars film happen at all. Hey maybe it will be his first real misstep as a director. Doesn’t mean Dawn of the Jedi has to suck though.

i’m only on board with Rey Skywalker’s movie if John Boyega returns as Finn as a Jedi Knight.

Filoni not sure on, his live action has been downright poor to mixed. His animated stuff has been phenomenally successful except for that one show Resistance.

Not a fan of Disney Star Wars, or maybe i am mildly at best. Loved Rebels. I was excited by the trailer. Worried about how Thrawn is portrayed though only Zahn knows how to write him. His portrayal in Rebels was mixed at best. If not downright poor.

Has anybody read Crimson Reign. I haven’t read much of the new Marvel Star Wars from Disney. But it was only 11 bucks so i figured what the heck, it is something to read. I’ll find out if i like it on Saturday when they deliver it.

Sick of all the piling on and hate for Last Jedi. Does that make it a good movie in my opinion no. Its worse than the prequel hate at this point. I’m just as guilty for hating how Luke was written, but its a far better movie than Force Awakens, and Rise of Skywalker. Luke has story purpose and is a character no matter how he is written he isn’t the worthless maguffin Michael Arndt and JJ made him.

Making a sequel 35 years later to Return of the Jedi probably shouldn’t have been done. If it had to be made doing it as a one off is a terrible idea. Hiring a guy who hates sequels and the very idea of them, and only likes making original films not franchises also probably was a bad idea. The only place i’ll defend Rian is his film wasn’t by corporate committee, he didn’t make it to fan demand. He is an auteur like George Lucas. Unlike Abrams who tried to copy Lucas or Spielberg, and always had the fans in mind. Though never pleasing them, or earning their praise except when he remade A New Hope.

Would have loved Rian’s trilogy, and the old republic trilogy. Maybe even Rogue Squadron if Patty was able to prove the debacle that was Wonder Woman 84 wouldn’t be repeated. Beautifully shot movie, the script was kind of all over the place.

The problem is you are only as good as your last movie. If it flops Lucasfilm isn’t going to give you a shot at a Star Wars film. If it is controversial they will find a way to not move forward.

The attachment thing and keeping him from his mother should have been the reason he turned on the Jedi. Also a desire for justice, the Jedi didn’t care about the slaves. And his desiring power. Anakin wants the power to dominate life and the lives of others, and to maintain order through force. He aligns with Palpatine because they agree the Empire is the way to balance chaos. Obi-Wan doesn’t agree he trusts the people and believes in Democracy. He becomes an enemy of the new order.

Join the darkside to save Padme is just idiotic.

Why does Lucas feel the need to claim it was always one story about the tragedy of Darth Vader, and that was the subtitle when the evidence exists its not true.

Do younger fans take what he says in those audio commentaries at face value and believe him. I’m trying to be charitable, but how isn’t it a lie.

I used to call it Jedi. But since Last Jedi also has Jedi in the title i call it ROTJ.

Luke as a Jedi Master teaching a new generation of Jedi restoring the order. Leia as Chancellor of the New Republic, Han Solo as a leader in the New Republic Navy.

The rest of the plot didn’t need to follow the EU generally.

There is plenty of room to make up a story around the OT heroes without erasing their accomplishments and making them worthless. Luke doesn’t need to be a superhero just to be Luke and a wise teacher, kind and generous.

Write the story around the original actors so the new protagonists fit the established world Lucas created. At least they should have prominent supporting roles. Not one off cameos for shock value in killing them off. They don’t all have to survive the trilogy but there had to be a better way of passing the torch without killing the past.

There are some things i like in Episode II but they are few. Before Rise of Skywalker it literally was the worst film in the Saga. Some things Lucas implies or he just cut out of the film entirely but he left in those really bad romance scenes. Why didn’t he have that awful dialog rewritten like on the OT. That was something Kasdan and Huyck and Katz excelled at. I’m of the opinion Anakin isn’t supposed to be smooth like Han, but he is awkward. So it sort of works but it also is difficult to listen to. Especially considering this is Vader. But it kind of is reminiscent of whiny Luke. And we know Kylo whined too.

I have given up on Picard season 3. More Dark Dystopian Trek fanfiction. I’d watch a 4th JJ film but other than Strange New Worlds potential i’m done with Kurtzman Trek. I kept hoping Disco would get better the writing never improved. I adore the cast and i’m disappointed in its cancellation. Everything they did right was the more complained about aspects of the diverse cast and how progressive it was.

I’m enjoying the Quantum Leap sequel but it isn’t nearly as good or novel as the original. Doesn’t have the music or catchphrase. The background characters are better than the main though. The ones who work behind the time travel. But i can see it not making it past the first season.

I actually wanted a post Rise of Skywalker Rey movie. If that was what was cancelled i’m sort of upset but i’ll get over it. Future movies have potential even if ROS disappointed a lot of people.

They leave a lot of money on the table with pirated DVD and Blu-Ray in general. Including the Original Theatrical Star Wars trilogy they don’t care. The bootleg of season 7 for clone wars for example from Malaysia has made the pirates a lot because Disney wants people to subscribe to a monthly service. I’m sure The Mando fanedits being sold is bad too. I mean at least the 4K77 and 4K83 stuff seems to have been pulled off Ebay.

Yeah they cancelled it a second time, i have very big doubts it ever comes back off the shelf.

It is DOA like the Feige thing. And the Rian Johnson films.

But apparently the Waititi project will get made.
