Good News
Time
I got a LightScribe DVD-RW Drive for my birthday. For those of you who don't know, LightScribe is a fascinating new tool that, once you burn your DVD, flip the disc over and the drive will automatically make a label for the disc. But you need LightScribe-compatible DVDs for it.

The good news is, now I no longer need to bug people on the forum for copies of the OOT. Now I can just go to MySpleen and download the versions I want. So now I hope everyone can make their peace with me.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe: 1979 Animated VS. 2005 Live-Action
Time
The 2005 movie version is a piece of shit. I'm sorry but it is. It will take me too long to explain all the film's problems, so I'll be brief. They went to places the book wasn't meant to go. They made the enemies meaner than they should be, and they made the heroes too wimpy. Basically, they turned what I deemed an unoffensive story offensive. It hurt me so much that Narnia is no longer my favorite book of all time. Instead, it's the Black Cauldron, because I've seen its movie and like it. I will get around to reading it soon.

Sorry about this, but I just couldn't let Chaltab get away with saying it was a good conversion, because it's not.

Asian Women and Water Operas
Time
Before I begin, let me make a confession:

I like ALL the Star Wars movies. The OOT, the SE, the DVDs, and the Prequels. Almost all the changes in the SE don't bother me, and I think the Prequels are state-of-the-art*. However, there are two things in ROTJ SE and ROTS that I like, but am concerned about and should point out before it's too late. (or is it?

1. I have a huge crush on Asian women, and one of the dancers in ROTJ SE's Jedi Rocks happened to be an Asian woman. Needless to say, I get ecstasy every time I see her. But what concerns me is, she was put into one of the worst and most criticized changes of the SE, and I try to make sure that no one actually dissed her, just the song. But to my dismay, someone did! The infamous Chefelf, while flaming Jedi Rocks, turned his anger onto the dancers and dissed them all. Standing up for my love, I tried to make him apologize. But he openly said I was joking. One of the reasons I never read his reasons to hate Star Wars again.

2. The Water Opera in Episode III was one of my favorite parts of that movie. It was peaceful and tranquil and gave you time to relax while you listened to Palpatine lure Anakin to the Dark Side. But when I read you-know-who's reasons to hate Episode III, he called the opera "dip****" and "ridiculous". Once I saw that, I never went to his site again, because I condemned him a remorseless SOB. Even though he liked the OOT, he showed no mercy even for the good parts of the SE and Prequels and shot down every little minor detail, even the things I like.

So I made this thread because I want you people to make me a promise. I don't care how much you diss the SE and the Prequels, because I understand how you feel about them. Just don't diss the Asian woman and the Water Opera. Because if you do, it will hurt me, and I don't want to be hurt more than I felt when I left Chefelf's site forever.

*Please remember: Even though what I've said is true, I still think George Lucas should give the OOT more respect and make it available to the public, which is why I joined this website.

Favorite Stuff of All Time
Time
What's your favorite stuff of all time? Mine is:

Movie: Star Wars Episode IV (Original Version AND Special Editions. Greedo shoots first doesn't really bother me.)
Game: Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Special Edition (a.k.a. Upper and MAX) because it has every character from Super SFII)
Song: Tarzan Boy by Baltimora
TV Show: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Comic Book: Iron Man
Wrestler: Hulk Hogan
Manga: Dragon Ball Z
Book: The Book of Three (haven't read it yet, but it probably will be once I read it)

A one-line post made with such a large picture in the footer takes up an awful lot of page space unnecessarily.

Of course, so does my bitching, I guess.

I'll second that - I thought it was irritating back when I was on dial-up and someone had a huge gif of Palpatine getting knocked over his chair on his ass. It was funny, but not practical.

As for Ryu vs. Sagat, I don't get it. I mean, I played Street Fighter II like crazy, and I didn't see this big rivalry, definitely not enough to warrant "Eternal Enemies," and definitely definitely not enough to warrant having a three inch pic every time Ingo posts.

Ingo's been getting a pretty hard time nearly everywhere I've seen him post. I don't mean him any ill will. I just hate that picture.

Sig Changed.

Scratch that. I've got a nasty idea.

I'll just leave it on my list. I gave both my families the same list, so they'll probably both end up getting a copy for me. So then I'll have three Extended Editions. Then I'll trade one of them in for the Limited Edition. So I'll have an Extended Edition to watch, an Extended Edition to preserve, and a Limited Edition to preserve.

BTW, when I get the Limited Edition Star Wars Trilogy in September, I'm preserving that as well. That's why I've got you guys and my DVD burner. I'll only watch the Limited Editions of SW and LOTR once just to see what they look like, and then keep them protected for the ages.

Sluggo is sending me a copy, so I won't need to rave about this anymore.

I'm planning on getting a DVD-RW drive for my birthday, so I can download the Star Wars DVD files and make them myself without having to ask people for a copy anymore. The reason I was raving about the "FACES" set was because I couldn't find where to download it anywhere. But once again, I thank Sluggo for doing this for me. Once I get this and my DVD-RW drive, I'll shut up about this. Scouts honor.

Something interesting...

My birthday's coming up (July 10, I'll be 18), and I was going to ask for the Original Theatrical version of the LOTR Trilogy, because I already have the Extended Edition and want to preserve it. But I went to Wal-Mart yesterday to look for it, and it was nowhere in sight! Only the Extended Edition was there. Is the Original Theatrical version out of print? Are we going to have to start a petition to get the OT back in print? Or am I being fooled and it's still being sold? If not, it looks like I'll be getting another Extended Edition...

Is it possible for someone to send me a copy of this set, as it will match my VHS Widescreen "FACES" set. I got a copy during Christmastime, but while cleaning it, I accidently used the wrong material and got all 3 discs badly scratched. So I would be honored if someone could please send me another copy. They don't need to make CD labels and DVD cases, I will make them myself.

Here is my address:

[deleted]

Please send me a PM so that I know you'll send me the set.

Kid, don't post your address on a public forum. You never know who is watching. If anyone here is willing to PIF or trade, they'll PM you for your addy.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe: 1979 Animated VS. 2005 Live-Action
Time
I hate the 2005 movie version so much, I'm thinking about doing a ChefElf0-style review called "Reasons to hate 2005's The Chroni-blah blah blah". And in it, I'll explain all the movie's inaccuracies and offensive changes. In fact, I think I'll do that tonight. I'll post the thing in a thread, then someone here can make it into a site. And then I'll do the same thing for the 6 other pieces of shit Walden Media is making.

Are you sure it's the whole chronicles, because I thought it was only for the first four: TLWW, Prince Caspian, The Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair.

If it's for all 7, then I'd like to get myself a copy, because it will combat the movie version. The 2005 team is doing all 7 books, and judging from the first one, they're all most likely going to be only 25% accurate.
And if the BBC version you say is extremely accurate, then that will be my new favorite.

Darth Maul on Battlefront
Time
I own the game, so I'll clear it up for everyone.

Main Menu>Single Player>Instant Action>Mos Eisley>Assault>Galactic Civil War>Launch

The Mos Eisley Assault has the heroes of Star Wars battle the villians, including Darth Maul, unlike normal Assault, where you have to knock out a starship's vital parts. The hunt mode for Mos Eisley has you do Jawas vs. Tusken Raiders.

Certificate from Bush
Time
My Grandma and Grandpa are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. Today, they got a letter that said it came from the White House. They thought it was a joke, but they opened it up and found it was a congradulations from President Bush and his wife. They'll send me a copy and maybe I'll sell it for a couple thousand dollars.

Now I get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I think of the most hated president of all time.
