KEEPERS OF THE PEACE ENDING.

I definitely moved on Episode II. I will eventually return back to Episode I to make it like the original plan, with Tatooine being put as the first part of the movie.
Anyway… I tried working on the ending, both with color correction and music tracks.
There’s a lot to be done on the CC, but this was just a test.
I quite enjoy the music, though.

Tell me what you think about it.

The edit is basically finished, but I have a pretty old and slow computer, so I have to carefully choose the day to render it and then upload it.
So… I just started working on the second edit, for Episode II.

The title will be: “Keepers of the peace”.
I think it works pretty well. That’s the phrase from Windu. I want these to be focused on the Order, on the Force rather than on politics (which I really enjoy nontheless).
At the same time it shows Jedi’s hypocrisy, because later in the movie we see that Jedi lead armies to war… not really keepers of the peace, right?
Here’s the first crawl test. Again, the first paragraph is always about the Jedi (same in Ep I and as it will be in later episodes).
Plus, the camera pans down and not up.

Again, considering that I plan to make all the six movies, I want to create some continuity, and at least use tracks from different trilogies.
Similar to Anakin on Tatooine in AOTC, I think Duel of Fates works pretty well here. Maybe it needs some adjustments, but still.

Also, another color correction to make Endor less flat and more vibrant.

ROTJ break.

This edit is almost finished. It became a quite classic edit, with complete color correction, cuts, new music tracks and some changes in characters. But after releasing this I will eventually return to the original plan of placing the Tatooine scene at the beginning (and making Qui Gon be sent there by Dooku to retreive Anakin).

Anyway, considering that I want to make the saga watchable in chronological order, I will edit all the main six movies (maybe I’ll leave ESB, cause Revisited is awesome as it is), so I started playing with some ROTJ scenes. I will add some of them in these days.

BATTLE OF ALDERAAN (short) CLIP AND COMPARISON.

1. Color Correction. More intense in space, less on the planet. With the sharpening and grain effects, plus the slight CC, I hope it looks more grounded without being too flat.

SENATE VIDEO COMPARISON.

Changes:

1. Color Correction. Not all black and white, as red colors are kept intact. Maybe it’s too much. Myabe I’ll reduce it a little bit, but I want to keep the tone consistent in all the three movies.
2. Added music track.
3. Different cut.
4. Increased pitch in Padme’s voice.
5. Extremely decreased pitch of the Federation guys, and added subtitles.

I kind of finished the edit, but I simply don’t have any scene to add to make the movie longer. Runtime is around 1hr and 5min.
I’m not ok with it, so I think I’ll return to the original plan. The movie will start on Alderaan. All changes are kept, except the Tatooine scene being at the opening.

About the movie being too short, if you have suggestions I’m happy to listen 😉
Or maybe this doesn’t hurt anyone, and that’s ok.

DOOKU VIDEO TEST.

This is the best I could do to insert Dooku in the movie.
His presence is already set in the opening crawl.
Here we have some flipped scenes and audio taken from AOTC.

Of course there is the problem of Anakin being in the scene and suddenly disappearing, but I think it can be fixed by placing that somewhere else.

Now I’m working on placing scenes in a different order.
I think Tatooine at first works pretty well. Then they go to Coruscant and at the end to Alderaan.

My problem is that by doing this AND cutting bad parts, runtime is around 1hr and 5 min.
I had to cut the podrace out, all mentions of the Chosen one, the midichlorians, the entire first part of the original movie aboard the Federation ship, etc.

Maybe I could re-insert the podrace by making Watto say that he’s already set a bet for Anakin to win the race. So before becoming Qui Gon’s “property” he’ll have to make this final race.
I tried adding a scene where Dooku radio-contacts Qui Gon aboard the ship. Some of his lines in EpII can be used to make him say “My young apprentice, the Viceroy is under the influence of a Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious”… But I’m unable to make it look believable. I tried with some display in the ship with some static effect, but it looked fake as hell. So maybe I will add the Dooku-Palpy encounter scene from EpII…
