Problem solved. I can’t change Windu’s lightsaber. I work on the edit with Sony Vegas, and even with a frame-by-frame masking, the color change on his lightsaber looks awful… But I finished Dooku’s saber CC 😉
As you can see, I decided to change Dooku’s lightsaber color into purple. I’m thinking about not mentioning him as a Sith lord until the very end, by placing the meeting with Palpatine as the final scene.
The purple lightsaber shows that he is not really a Jedi but also not a Sith, at least until the ending.
I don’t know if I’ll change also Windu’s lightsaber…

It’s almost done. I’ll have to wait my new internet line to upload the two edits, but they are coming.
As a whole, I’m pretty satisfied about how it’s coming out.

As I said before, Yoda doesn’t use a lightsaber.
Here’s my cut of the scene. Yoda arrives when the three are still fighting, and just as he calls Dooku, the Sith uses the Force and runs.

Ok, I really need a feedback on this.
You can see the color correction. I think it works quite well.
This scene is placed just after the Dooku/Padmé dialogue scene (from the deleted scenes, used to replace the droid factory action sequence).
Tell me what you think about the music track. Of course it’s from ROTJ.
I know it can sound too joyful, but at this point the Republic and Palpatine are meant to be the good guys. And both Yoda and Windu are listening. We should not, as audience, be afraid of what’s to come. After all, even in ROTJ this music is used even if the characters know they are going into some sort of battle.

Senate comparison.
I always hated how the Senate looks different from movie to movie.
In the first it’s blueish, in the second yellow (as everything in this movie), in the third black (or at least pretty dark).
I want it to be consistent. I already changed the color in Shadow of the past (there is a clip in its post page).

PS: It won’t be Jar Jar the one who gives powers to Palpatine. We actually don’t see this. Windu enters, and we cut to the Senators cheering for Palpatine.

I previously tried to change the whole color of Geonosis. I’d like to have more diversity on planets, while in AOTC we have at least three planets with warm colors (reds and yellows) being Tatooine, Naboo and Geonosis. But I failed, because to change the reds and yellows on that planet I would have to change also the faces of the characters, which have kind of the same tonalities.
This is the level of color correction that I can reach without affecting characters too much.
You mean removing the whole speeder cars sequence? If yes, well, it could be done… Even if by changing some things I actually enjoy it as an action sequence.
About Anakin and Obi Wan’s lines, yes, I removed them. It just cuts to inside the bar.
Lol, there is the Coruscant chase, just not Obi Wan hanging to the droid.
But the droid factory was never funny for me.
But it’s all in early stage. It’s possible that I will leave it and just remove 3PO and R2.
By watching it on Sony Vegas I noticed that aswell. The sharpening on the kamonians makes them almost look like real “puppets”.

Kamino color correction.
Kamino looks way to CGI-ish and clean. I get that it’s probably the most technologically advanced planet, but that’s too much. It needs to get more grounded.

Yep, the first one was actually my first choice.
Jedi Council Color Correction tests.
I pretty much know what I want the scenes to look like.
Coruscant has to look like Blade Runner’s Los Angeles, Tatooine has to be a little bit desaturated, etc.
With the Jedi Council chamber I’m always uncertain.
