As I said, the DS color correction is really rough, but it is meant to be darker. I want it to look less like a studio set and more like a dark control room in space. It needs work, of course 😉

This is really in early stage, but it’s a color correction to make the Death Star control room look like the one from Rogue One.

I really wanted to like this.
I didn’t.
I didn’t even manage to finish it.
I liked the dreamy short sequence before Finn wakes up, but the Battlefront footage looks awful and completely useless, and the voiceover sounds terrible. Almost all the music additions have problems, and I found Luke’s new phrases extremely boring and predictable.
I’m really sorry for this, but I was expecting something way better.

Of course this is just a test.
I love the Yoda/Palpatine duel, but this Yoda diminishes the stature of OT’s Yoda, so I’d like to keep the duel without the problem of character development.

I liked that you cut most of the dialogue from the Anakin vs. Obi fight, it worked extraordinary well in combination with the music and voiceover.

Apart from that I think you should cut the Yoda‘s fingernails losing grip part, it is just to much physical interaction for a projection.

P.S.: I would try to remove the ray shields that protected the mustafar station and explain the massiv volcanic eruptions because of Anakins rage, this would be more fate of the universe like and Anakin would appear much more like an all powerful Chosen One. It would also suit him talking about his new powers, overestimating them and eventually leading to his downfall.

FINAL DUEL AND YODA’S FORCE PROJECTION TEST.

I’ve already tried to edit the third act many times, with previous edits.
Obi Wan - Anakin duel is way over the top.
Yoda - Palpatine is better, IMHO, because the two actually use the Force to fight each other. But Yoda’s flipping is still annoying.

So here’s my new test.

Episode IV scene test.

Ok, right now I’m working with Episode III.
But after a long time I played The Old Republic again, and after watching its “Return” cinematic trailer I imagined the Obi Wan death scene in EpIV played in a similar way.

So here is a VERY, EXTREMELY rough test.
I simply added the original “Return” audio to the unaltered scenes in EpIV, but with a whole different cut.

Here’s the third edit of my (probably) full 1-6 saga edit.
First things first, Revenge of the Sith is one of my favourite SW movies. I’ve never been a PT hater. This trilogy is surely worse than the OT, but I never found it horrible, not at all.
I always loved the political aspect of it, the scale of these movies, and most of the acting performances (mostly McGregor, Portman and McDiarmid).
The only things that I really didn’t like about this trilogy are:

1. It looked way too different from the OT.
2. The two main plot twists (Vader in ESB and Leia in ROTJ) are ruined, if you watch the movies in episodic order.

Just as with the other two edits, I’ll try to fix it.
Right now I don’t have a complete changelist, as I’m just working on the new crawl, but the movie will have a complete color correction. It will probably be less strong than the one in Episode II, because in my EpII edit the CC in some parts was just too much.
Just as in the previous edits, I’ll add other music tracks wherever I can. And I’ll try to hide the “Anakin becomes Darth Vader” point. If I will work on ANH and ESB, I’ll surely remove any mention by Obi Wan about Vader being his apprentice.
Anakin will actually turn to the Dark Side, because I don’t think it would work to kill him off before that (I am uncapable of working with VFX, but even if I could make it look like Anakin dies in the Jedi Temple attack, killing off the main character off screen would suck, cinematically speaking).
I’m still wondering about keeping or removing the Yoda-Palpatine fight scene. If I can make it more grounded, I will keep it. Otherwise, that’s gone. I’d like to keep it, because it would sound ridiculous for the strongest Jedi ever to run away and not even try to fight the supreme bad guy…

Anyway, more details coming soon 😉

First of all, I can’t thank you enough for this feedback.
Now…

1. I surely will return to this sooner or later, and I think I’ll put all your suggestions here. Yoda looking at Palpy will be removed.
2. About the Jedi Archives… that’s my idiotic mistake. I changed the color in the first part as a test. Then I was satisfied, but I forgot to continue. And I realized that only when the edit was already uploaded -.-"
3. Everything else… you’re right. Some parts in CC will need some extra work, and Dooku turning back at the end aswell.

Anyway, all the music additions are from the OT, or Rogue One. The tracks during the assassination attempt, during the first part of the “asteroid” chase and the battle of Geonosis are all from Rogue One. And yes, during the second part of the asteroid chase the track is from TLJ (battle of Crait).
